Fanfic: It´s Christmas time

Chapter: Christmas time is the best time

Three days before Christmas. Joey and Atemu sat on the floor with Yugi and played a game of Duel Monsters. Atemu's wound was healed. A small scar could still be seen. Atemu limped a bit. But he was in no pain.
Tea and Yugi were standing in the kitchen trying to somehow save their charred cookies. Yugi went with him to see Atemu, Joey and Tristan; he sat on the couch and watched intently.
"Anyone want cookies?" He asked, slightly embarrassed that he could bake so badly. Atemu waved him off: "Since the cake, he has not eaten anything baked by his friends. The next day he was still sick from the cake. Joey and Tristan didn't seem to mind that the biscuits were totally burned.
Atemu put a card face down on the field. Joey called a monster and attacked with it. The face-down card was an effect monster. Joey Monster disappeared, so did Atemus. Joey groaned: “Oh, no.” Atemu called a strong monster and destroyed the last life points of Joey."This is the fifth time I'm losing to you," wailed the loser. "It was actually seven times," Tristan had to admit. "You are really good, Joey. You have to be patient, it pays off", Atemu smiled. Yugi was back in the kitchen by now.
It hadn't stopped snowing in the last few days. Yugi suddenly put on a jacket. Joey looked at him and followed him. Tea looked out of the kitchen, Tristan also looked into the corridor. Atemu was amazed. Couldn't worry about it because he needed to go to the bathroom urgently. When he came from the toilet, there was no one in the house. Amazed, he put on his jacket and went out. It was freezing cold. Suddenly a snowball flew towards Atemu. It hit him in the back of the head. Atemu turned in amazement. Joey and Tristan stood behind a wall of snow, snowballs in their hands, threatening to throw the balls. Atemu accepted the challenge. But where were Yugi and Tea? These crouched behind another wall of snow. The friends threw snowballs at each other for three hours. They urgently had to make up for that. Since the last "adventure" there has been no time to have fun. When Atemu wanted to do something with Yugi, he wasn't there. Atemu could have called Joey or someone else, but 1. he didn't know the phone numbers and 2. how could he have used the phone, after all, he had never used it?
"I'm giving up," Joey huffed exhausted. "Let's go have a hot drink," suggested Yugi. Everyone agreed.
"Where's your grandfather actually?", Joey asked, sipping his tea. "Uh ... honestly, I have no idea," Yugi said. "We should go look for him," said Atemu and wanted to get up. "Take it easy, dude. Everything's been okay here since you've actually been to Egypt, and after all, no crazy idiot who wants to blow up the world knows you're there. And after all, you're the magnet, that attracts all the bad guys, "said Joey."Besides, Yugi's grandfather could start to suffer from paranoia," laughed Tristan. Yugi nodded in agreement. "If you think so", Atemu snorted. Tea went into the kitchen. Yugi followed her in astonishment. "Are you okay, Tea?" He asked, slightly worried. "Yes, of course. I wanted to show you something," said Tea. "So? And what?" Asked Yugi. Tea took a silver chain with a large rectangular pendant from her pocket. In this there was a picture. Yugi examined it. Tea, Joey, Tristan and he were in the picture. "Who is this for?" Asked Yugi. "For the Pharaoh. If he goes to Egypt again, he should at least have a little souvenir," said Tea with a smile. Yugi nodded understandingly.
Suddenly the doorbell rang. "Will probably be grandfather," said Yugi and went to the door. He opened it and was amazed. "What is it? Don't you want to let me in as your guest?" Whispered Kaiba. "Uh ... okay. Come on in," Yugi said, slightly scared. "Well, go," said Seto calmly and entered the house."What the hell is he doing here?" asks Yugi.
"Yugi, what are you doing at the door for so long. Waa- Kaiba! What are you doing here?", Joey stepped out of the room and was frightened at Seto. As a result, he fell to the ground. "I wanted to give Yugi something. And since it's so cold outside, I thought I could have a drink with you," said Kaiba and entered the living room. He was amazed to find Atemu there. "Kaiba?", Atemu was surprised and not much less than everyone else. "How often do you want to repeat my last name, huh?", Seto said and let himself fall on the couch. Tristan slid away from him a little.
Seto noticed that Atemu was fiddling with cards. Yugi came in now too. "The King of the Games," said Seto with a laugh. Atemu raised his head. "Are you still as good as you were then?" Asked the oldest. "Is that supposed to be a challenge?" Atemu grinned. "What do you think?" Said Seto and pulled a pile of cards out of his jacket pocket. "Why don't you guys try a different game?Maybe Kaiba has a chance to win, "said Tristan suddenly. Seto glared at him." And what game are you talking about? ", Seto asked sharply." From a community game. Phase 10! And everyone can play, "grinned Tristan. Seto only let out a small" Pf "." What is Kaiba? Are you scared? ", Joey asked. Tea also entered the room. She gave Seto some tea. The latter thanked him rudely.
Atemu looked at Seto. "Well, fine. Bring the stupid game," Kaiba said, annoyed. And so it started. The game. It took about 6 hours for Atemu to win. During this time, Kaiba became very relaxed. He came in second, followed by Tea, Yugi and Tristan. He was a little disappointed that he lost.
"What are you doing here anyway?", Joey made a subject change. Seto looked at him a bit questioningly. "Oh, give you something," he carefully took a small package from his pocket and handed it to Yugi. He accepted it puzzled. Kaiba got up, put on his coat and without saying a word he went out of the house.Questioning silence fell in the house. "Um ... just open it," suggested Tea. Yugi opened it. They looked patiently at every single hand movement. Two cards. One read Yugi in beautiful handwriting and the other Joey. Yugi read the card. "A new tournament ... Kaiba is really enjoying it," he mumbled. "Bohar, cool, dude," yelled Joey. "Now I can finally grab this rich pee," Joey was quite pleased with. "Exuberance rarely hurts," thought Tea.
The rest of the day passed uneventfully.
"Ishizu, see I found an old scroll", Marik called his sister over. Ishizu came. The two were in the burial chamber of Atemu. Hoping to find something. A little hint or something. Odion was also here.
Apparently Marik had found something. "What's that?" He asked. His older sister ran her finger over the scroll. "A sealed old scroll.Somebody must have guessed that something like this would happen. I'm sure this is what we're looking for, "Ishizu stared at the blank papyrus." How can we decipher it? "asked Marik." With the Pharaoh's puzzle, "said Odion. Marik and Ishizu looked at him.
Odion stood in front of a large marble tablet with hieroglyphics on it. It had been easy for him to decipher something like that. "But what was the reason?" He asked himself.
Ishizu went to another wall. Marik followed her. "Your ancestor wrote that here," he said. "You mean Isis?" Said Ishizu. Her brother nodded.
"It says here: If the Pharaoh misses his best friend, then it is all over for him. He will come to him. Whether the time will be changed or not. He will work on his puzzle and if his friend does it, then they will be brought together." , Ishizu read aloud. Marik looked at her questioningly. "I don't understand," he said. Odion came up to them. "The time in Egypt went on, but nothing has changed. We can speak of luck. Isis wrote the text after the pharaoh disappeared. To give us a hint. The Pharaoh must have been lonely or "homesick". He lived in the puzzle for over 5000 years and then met Yugi. His loneliness was over, "said Ishizu." But the Pharaoh also had friends in Egypt, "said Marik." Yes, that's true. I guess the answer to that only knows the Pharaoh's heart, "Ishizu retorted.
Three days passed. Christmas Eve stepped in the door. Atemu was sound asleep in his bed. Yugi was already sneaking around the house. His grandfather was out of the house a long time ago. Yugi wondered where he was now. But when he stepped into the living room, some things became clear to him. Because all over the floor were Christmas balls, tinsel, little angels and other Christmas stuff. "Well, whether grandfather can find any Christmas tree there," Yugi thought with a shrug.
He changed quickly, ruffled his hair and went into the kitchen.Yugi's grandfather had long since made breakfast for the two friends. Without hesitation, Yugi sat down at the set table and began to eat.
A few minutes later he heard a knock on the door. Surprised, he went to the door. When he opened it, he almost fell over in shock. There was a beautiful Christmas tree in the doorway; was about medium size. "Hello Yugi," came Joey's voice. "People? Are you that?" Yugi asked confused. "Yes, of course. Who else is Santa Claus?" Tristan asked with a laugh. "Hohoho," said Yugi's grandfather. "You scared me with the tree," said Yugi and made room. Joey laboriously carried the tree into the living room. Then Tristan, Grandfather and Tea came into the house and closed the door behind them. They had bags in their hands.
Yugi turned to Tea. "Why didn't you actually use the bell?" He asked. "And woke his majesty? We couldn't let that happen," laughed Tristan and followed Joey into the living room."Your grandfather said that Atemu was still asleep. And since Joey blocked the bell with the tree, he could only hammer the door with the tree anyway," Tea explained, shaking his head. Yugi grinned.
"Are you coming?", Joey asked, his head sticking out of the door. Tristan came back into the hall. He was holding his jacket and joeys in his hands. He hung them up carefully. Tea did this too. Then she strolled into the living room with the bags. Yugi's grandfather had meanwhile disappeared into the kitchen and made some warm tea.
