Fanfic: It´s Christmas time
Chapter: The first snow
It was a cold, foggy November day. Atemu had got into the habit of staring out the window for ten minutes every morning. Yugi was still sound asleep.
The Pharaoh sighed softly. He wanted to wake up his best friend. Atemu left the room. He had already had breakfast. Yugi's grandfather met him. "Pharaoh, where are you going?" He asked and stopped. "I want to get out a bit. Yugi is still sleeping and I have nothing to do," Atemu replied. The grandfather made a grimace: "Do you really think it would be so good to go out? You don't know your way around." "You forget that I lived here for two years, so to speak. I still know my way around. Don't worry" the Pharaoh defended himself. Without another word, Yugi's grandfather let him go on.
Atemu had borrowed an old winter jacket from Yugi. Still he was cold. He stared around and remembered so many adventures he had experienced here.
He stopped in front of a card shop and looked at the sign. Then Atemu decided to go inside. He was getting warmer.
He examined the individual shelves with the so different cards and noticed that they had become very mounded.
A few minutes later he went out. Automatically he got colder again. He crossed a bridge across the street. Atemu looked up at the sky when he suddenly ran into someone tall and fell to the ground. He looked up.
Kaiba's ice-cold eyes stared at him. "Look, look. Who do we have there? Little Yugi. Where's all your clique?" He said. Atemu got up and looked at Kaiba. "Atemu, Kaiba. My name is Atemu. Yugi is at home and still asleep," he said. "Do you really think you can fool me? See you, you loser," Kaiba just went on. Atemu watched him go and smiled. "He hasn't changed a bit," he mumbled.
At lunchtime, Atemu's stomach began to growl. He ran his hand over his stomach and grimaced."Well, great," he thought. Atemu went a little further and came to a large fast food restaurant. He knew he had no money anyway, but he was pretty cold.
Atemu sat in the farthest corner. He looked around the shop. It smelled extremely of chips and fat. The place was quite busy, but not crowded.
A young waitress came up to him. Atemu looked away, hoping the waitress would move on. But she didn't.
"Would you like to order something?" She asked very politely. Atemu knew this voice from somewhere. He looked at the waitress. His eyes widened. "Tea?" Came out of him softly. "Yugi, what are you looking at me so surprised? You know that I worked here," Tea seemed surprised. Atemu shook his head: “Do I really look like Yugi?” Tea sat down across from the Pharaoh and stared into his eyes. "Hm, your skin color is darker, you look more serious. You remind me of Ph ...", Tea paused. She had to collect her thoughts for a moment.
"No," she said. "Yes, Tea. I'm the Pharaoh, if that's what you wanted to say," Atemu admitted. "But how do you get into our time? I thought you were back in ancient Egypt," said Tea. "It happened about a month ago. Yugi and I don't understand it ourselves. Yugi had already called Isis. But we haven't heard from her either.
In any case, I got to Yugi somehow. That night I thought of Yugi and you. We suspect it was because of that, but we don't believe it, "said Atemu. Tea breathed in once:" Strange. But why didn't you tell me? "Atemu shrugged," We had so much fun we probably forgot. "Tea didn't seem upset. At that, Atemu was very relieved.
They stared at each other in silence. Then the Pharaoh spoke up again: “And what were you doing in that time?” Tea seemed surprised that the Pharaoh seemed to care. But she didn’t show anything.
"Well, yes, as you can see, I work here. I dropped out of school shortly where you went. Now I'm going to a very large dance school. I'm really good," said Tea. "So you will make your dream come true, as you told me back then?" Says Atemu happily. Tea nodded proudly: "Yes. And someday I'll be a great dancer." Atemu agreed with her nodding: "I'm happy. I wish you the best of luck." "Thank you Atemu," said Tea.
Atemu's stomach made itself felt. His girlfriend had to start laughing. "Do you want some french fries and a hamburger?" She said with a smile. "But I don't have any money," replied the Pharaoh. "No problem. I'll have that deducted from my wages," said Tea. "No, you don't have to do that. I will now go to Yugi again", Atemu got up and wanted to go. "It seems like you don't have to go to Yugi," said Tea, pointing a finger at a figure standing in front of the shop. Then she came in.
Yugi seemed a little pissed off and worried. He went up to Atemu. "Yugi, I hope you're not mad, but I was so bored today," Atemu felt guilty. "I was worried, Atemu. You can't just go around and tell me nothing," said Yugi indignantly. "But your grandfather knew that I was going out," the Pharaoh defended himself. Yugi wanted to add something to the argument, but Atemu's stomach growled again.
Yugi snorted, then turned to Tea. "Could you please bring him something to eat? I'll pay too," Yugi said calmly. Tea nodded and disappeared into the kitchen.
A short time later, Atemu and Yugi sat across from each other. The Pharaoh ate his meal without a word while Yugi looked at it. "Why don't you say anything?" Yugi threw into the silence. "I thought you were mad at me. And I better not say anything," said Atemu. "Oh, what. I wasn't really angry either, just worried", Yugi smiled at the Pharaoh.Tea was not far from them. "At least they made up again," she thought and marched towards the two boys.
Atemu was just gulping down the last of the fries. "Did you like it?" Asked the waitress. Atemu nodded. Yugi handed the money to his girlfriend. "Yugi, we should do something again. I mean, we could take Atemu with us," she suggested. The two boys clearly agreed.
Atemu and Yugi said goodbye to their nice waitress and made their way home. They only exchanged a few words.
The next morning it seemed as if the two friends were sleeping in competition. At the same time, a snowflake settled on Yugi's window. This was the first snow that snowed that year.
Yugi woke the Pharaoh, who was not exactly thrilled about it. "What is Yugi? Let me go back to sleep," Atemu muttered and opened his eyes. "No, it's important. Pharaoh, it's snowing," said Yugi happily. "And?Snow is cold and wet. I prefer to lie in bed, "Atemu replied." Oh, my God. I can not believe it. There is a horde of wild Duel Monsters creatures walking around ", Yugi said startled and stared out the window. Atemu immediately stood next to him and was disappointed.
"So what do you call a bunch of wild Duel Monsters creatures? They're three little kids building a snowman," said Atemu. "At least I got you out of bed," laughed Yugi. "One thing I have to admit, you can act," said the Pharaoh and yawned.
Sometime in the morning the phone rang. It for Yugi. On the other end of the line was Joey, with Tristan in the background.
"Hey Yugi, nice that you call me too."
"Oh, Joey. Sorry, we've been going through a lot of mysterious things lately."
"So, actually the usual, right?"
"Well, yes, the Pharaoh is back. And we have no idea how to get here. I've already called Isis. But without success.""Tristan! Don't you dare to go near my sister's room. So, what did you say? The Pharaoh is back? Nothing special. The Pharaoh is back?!?"
"Yeah. But there is little we can do at the moment anyway. Why did you call?"
"Oh, I just wanted to ask if you ... uh ... you have time tomorrow and want to go sledding with us. Tea thought that was a great idea."
"Tea? Is she with you too? Or did she call you?"
"She called me and Tristan happened to be there. Wasn't Tristan? If I am to be honest, he just wanted to see my sister. She would come with me tomorrow too. So Yugi, do you and the Pharaoh have time?"
"Yeah, sure. We can come. Then where do we meet?"
"At ten o'clock at the main station. See you tomorrow."
"Until tomorrow."
