Fanfic: It´s Christmas time

Chapter: The little girl

Yugi and Atemu almost overslept. They changed quickly - Yugi was looking for one of his black socks. "Damn, damn, damn we're late! Why did you want to play Monopoly at 10 o'clock last night? I should have known we'd be late," Yugi cursed and put on the other sock. "Keep calm", Atemu yawned, "we are far from late." "What about breakfast? We have to leave immediately, otherwise we will miss the bus", Yugi gasped and put his hand on his stomach. "I'm already hungry," he said afterwards. The Pharaoh rolled his eyes.
At the same moment, Yugi's grandfather stepped into the room. In each of his hands he held a toast, smeared with Nutella.
Yugi and Atemu paused. "I thought that since you overslept, you could still use some food," said the grandfather and grinned. Atemu nodded his thanks and accepted a toast.
Yugi looked at the clock in horror. "Damn it.It's already nine thirty. Atemu, we're late! ", he yelled. Yugi grabbed Pharaoh by the arm, took the second toast, left it hanging in his mouth and went out. Atemu took over the talking for him." Thank you Mr. Muto for the toast. We have to go then, "he said. Yugi's grandfather stood by the door and wished them both a lot of fun.
Yugi and Atemu left, or rather trotted down the streets. The Pharaoh almost slipped because the pavement was black. Yugi didn't have much time to eat the toast. Running and eating just wouldn't work. But even the Pharaoh hadn't quite finished his toast. So he also tried hard not to choke. That would take too much time.
When they managed to swallow the toast, they were only a few minutes from the main train station. Yugi stared nervously at his watch. "Hurry up, we only have three minutes left," he called to the Pharaoh as he ran. Atemu nodded. They braked in front of the main train station and gasped. Strange, no Joey, Tristan or whoever waved to them. They were not there.
"Did we miss it?" Atemu asked worriedly. Yugi shrugged. "Hey Yugi!", Tristan's voice suddenly called from afar. Atemu and Yugi turned towards the voice. Joey, on his hand Serenity, Tristan and Tea ran towards the two friends. Each of them was wrapped up warm.
"Sorry, slept a little," Joey admitted. "No problem. We just got here ourselves," said Yugi. Joey, Serenity and Tristan looked at the Pharaoh in amazement. "Uh ... hello", it came out of Atemu. "Hey, dude, what's up?", Said Joey and hit the Pharaoh hard on the back. "Nice to see you again," said Tristan. Atemu nodded: "I'm happy too." "It's all well and good that Atemu is back, but shouldn't we get our train that is parked there?" Said Tea, pointing to a train in the main station. "Oh, no," said Joey."And run again," Yugi rolled his eyes.
The friends ran across the full central station to the train. They squeezed through small groups and avoided mothers with prams. And then they rushed on the train. Panting, he let himself slide onto the floor and rested. "Enough exercise for today," gasped Joey, gasping for breath. "Joey, you're on the wrong move. If you think sledding isn't a sport, you're totally wrong," said Tea. Joey looked like he was missing the right words.
Atemu sat on a seat and admired the white landscape. Yugi came up to him. "I'm sure you've never seen anything like it in Egypt," he said. Atemu shook his head. "In winter we are only 20 degrees. So I doubt that it will snow there," said the Pharaoh. "What happened to you?" Tristan asked curiously. Atemu looked at him. He wondered why anyone cared what had happened in ancient Egypt after the Bakuras riot."Hm ... not much. Mana is now an elite mage. There is peace in Egypt and most of the shadow creatures are trapped. Hold nothing new," said Atemu. The others stared at him in amazement. "Wow, and I thought it would be exciting in Egypt. But apparently it's boring with snoring," said Joey, grimacing. Atemu shook his head: "The guards hunt some little thief almost every day. But I think that you don't care." Tristan nodded: "There are thieves here too. So it's nothing special." Pharaoh agreed with him.
The journey passed uneventfully. Atemu stared at the freezing snow. For some reason he was thinking about Egypt. Does the time go on there at all? If not, then everyone would probably think Pharaoh was dead, kidnapped, or something. That would certainly destroy the balance of peace. That gave Atemu a headache.
Yugi looked at his friend. He knew what was going on inside him.I nudged Tea. "Are you worried about Pharaoh?" She asked. Yugi turned to his girlfriend and sighed. "Yes, after all, he doesn't know what's going on in Egypt at the moment," whispered Yugi, after all, Atemu was not allowed to notice anything. "Hey guys, instead of thinking about Atemu all the time, we have to get out of here," said Joey. Atemu looked up at him. "Why are you thinking about me?" He asked. Words were missing to Yugi. "Leave it alone," said the Pharaoh and went to the door. Tristan leaned over to Yugi: "Is he freaking out now?" Yugi shrugged his shoulders.
The train stopped. "Are you coming?" Asked the Pharaoh, frowning. The five friends entered the train station. People were running everywhere. A few had a cold. A little girl ran towards Atemu. She smiled at him. The Pharaoh didn't know what to make of it.
The little girl was just five years old. However, she had long, dark red hair. Her eyes were very conspicuous. They were big and light blue.Atemu noticed that it had many small bruises, and the jacket was also very torn.
"You don't happen to know each other?", Joey asked, half jokingly. Atemu looked at him. Tea bent down to the little child. "Well, you? Are you lost?" She asked lovingly and held out a finger to the girl. The little one bit into it. A short scream. Then Tea hid behind Tristan and mumbled: "Just keep that little devil off my neck." "That's just a cheeky little kid," said Joey and laughed. The girl seemed indignant and kicked Joey hard on the shin. A whine was heard. And Joey was also behind Tristan and Tea.
The girl ran up to the Pharaoh and clutched his leg. She rubbed her head on it like a cat. Atemu found this uncomfortable. He pulled the little girl off her leg. Yugi had to resist laughing. "Listen, little one, why don't you go to your mom's?" He asked. "Mama dead, papa dead, all dead," the girl sniffed."Then why are you hanging on my leg?" Asked Atemu. "You're cute," said the girl with a laugh. Atemu turned red. He took a few steps away from the girl.
"Well, she's definitely not shy," Tea admitted. "And the Pharaoh has found a new friend. That's really cute," laughed Joey. Atemu pretended to miss those words.
"What's your name?" Tristan asked. "Mom always called me Nana," the girl replied. "What do we do with Nana?" Asked Tea. "I guess we'll have to take her with us, willy-nilly," said Yugi. Atemu let out a small sigh. Nana just laughed. "What about the scratches?" Said Tea. "Almost all of them have healed. I would like to have some fun now," said Tristan. "Exactly," agreed Joey. Atemu nodded. They wanted to go, but Nana came back to the Pharaoh. She held out her hand to him. Atemu sighed. Hand in hand, Nana and Pharaoh walked across the station. Yugi, Joey, Tristan and Tea really had to resist laughing.Just before she was about to leave the station, they heard a female voice. Everyone turned around. Nana let go of Atemu. A woman came up to them. It was actually a girl, maybe 16. She looked almost exactly like Nana.
"Sorry guys that my little sister caused you such trouble," she said and gasped. "Your sister?" Said Tea. "Yes, Nana and I are sisters," the girl admitted. "But Nana said they were all dead," said Atemu. "Do it more often. Sorry about it. I hope she hasn't done anything bad," said the girl. "Oh, no. Not at all," said Yugi. "Ph ... of course," grumbled Joey. "Where's Nana anyway?" Tristan asked suddenly. Everyone looked around. "Oh, no! Well, yes, I have to go," said the stranger and ran away.
"Weird," said Joey. "It's just strange that something like this only happens when the Pharaoh is there," Tristan admitted. Atemu bowed his head. "I'm sorry," he muttered. "It's okay. We're used to it.And now come, my legs will freeze off otherwise, "said Joey.
"Wait a minute, where is Serenity?" Tea asked. Thanks to the little girl, no one had paid any attention to Joey's sister. "Oh, no! Everything really goes wrong today," the brother moaned. "Why, there it is," said Atemu and pointed to the girl.
Serenity stood before a path that led into a forest. "Serenity, where have you been?" Joey asked, shocked. "We were so worried about you," Tristan said, taking Serenity by her hands. "I got off one station earlier because I really wanted to get something. I told Atemu. It was very important," said Joey's sister. "Atemu! Why didn't you tell me!?!", Shouted the brother. "Joey, Atemu was busy with other things! He probably didn't hear Serenity!" Tea yelled back. "Just because his lousy Egypt is so important? Something else could have happened to Serenity!"Said Joey." Guys, stop it. That doesn't do anything! ", Yugi tried with all his might to settle the quarrel. Without success.
Doubts arose in Atemu. "What am I doing here anyway? I don't belong here. I should go. Otherwise Yugi and the others will fall out and I'll have to try to settle my feelings of guilt. That wouldn't be good either. Maybe I'll start a new life here I'm not coming back to Egypt ... "he thought.
Atemu slowly went back. He didn't want anyone to hear anything. He crept away quietly. For some unknown reason, his eyes felt with tears. Then, when he thought he was far enough away, he ran away ...
