Fanfic: It´s Christmas time

Chapter: Against the time

Atemu no longer heard the screams that penetrate the forest from Joey and Tea. He sat on the floor. "Have they finally quarreled? Is it all just my fault? What did I do? Why did I have to come back to Domino? Why? Damn it!" He thought.
"People! People! PEOPLE!", Yugi shouted the whole forest together. Tea and Joey looked at him. "There's no point in arguing about it now," added Yugi. "He's right. What happened, happened," said Tristan, nodding. "Let it go, we're friends after all, aren't we?" Serenity said. Joey and Tea were silent. "You are right. We act like in a kindergarten," said Tea and pressed her hand to her forehead. Joey just nodded.
Yugi suddenly looked around. There was horror in his face. The friends noticed this promptly. "Yugi, what's wrong?" Tristan asked and scratched his head. "Atemu, he's gone," Yugi replied. "Right, he must have left when Joey and I argued," said Tea."But why?" Asked Joey. "Maybe ... maybe because you argued," Serenity threw in the group. Everyone looked at her. "But Serenity, the pharaoh doesn't run away just for that reason. He knows we're friends after all," said Joey. "Hm ... there could be something to it," Yugi said approvingly. "We can think about that later, we'd better look for him before he doesn't run amok," said Tristan. Everyone agreed.
Atemu rose again. His rear was wet from the snow. He continued walking through the forest. At some point he noticed engine noises. It had to be very near a street. Indeed! Atemu found himself in a residential area. He went to the sidewalk and walked down it silently. After every house there was an alley that led again and again into the dark. After thinking about it several times, Atemu decided to go to one in the hope of finding a place to sleep. Instead he heard two familiar voices. It was the two strange girls. Atemu leaned quietly against the wall and listened a little to the conversation.
"You did a great job, Nana. You are just a master thief," whispered the sister. "Kelly, that also has something to do with thinking," said Nana in turn. "You're just too smart for your age," laughed Kelly.
"Did the two girls steal from us? That would explain why Nana disappeared so suddenly," Atemu thought. It all made sense.
Atemu just turned the corner. The two sisters winced, startled. It took them a second to recognize Pharaoh. "You? What are you doing here?" Asked Kelly. Meanwhile Nana rummaged the money in a bag. "I want my friends' money back," Atemu said seriously. Kelly grimaced: “Do you think we'd just leave it to you?” Atemu didn't answer. He looked around briefly. The only way out of the alley was where it stood.Kelly produced a Kaybar knife from her sleeve. She ran towards the Pharaoh. Kelly wanted to hit him right in the heart. Atemu didn't have a bad reaction, but the knife brushed past his cheek as he tried to evade. Kelly ran towards him again. But this time Atemu was able to hold onto her wrist. Kelly winced and tried to free herself from the hard grip. Without success.
Suddenly Nana came running towards Atemu with another Kaybar knife. Without further ado, she rammed the knife into his leg, where it got stuck for the time being. Atemu screamed. His grip loosened. Kelly lost the Kaybar knife in the process.
She and Nana ran away without a word. Atemu fell to his knees. An uncanny pain penetrated his body. It made him unable to move. He was lying in the snow that was turning red. He gasped. With his hand he slowly pulled the knife out and threw it away.
"I just have to close my eyes for a moment, and then I'll be fine. Just for a moment," thought Atemu. His eyes saw everything twice, then three times. In the next moment everything was black ...
"Atemu, where are you?", Yugi screamed through the whole forest. He looked up at the sky. It was already getting dark. Joey stepped up to him. "Don't worry, we'll find him," he said gently. "I just hope you're right. I suspect something bad," Yugi replied. Shortly afterwards, the friends all got together again. Nobody had found a tiny trace.
It got darker. Yugi barely saw the hand in front of his eyes, how was he supposed to find a person? Quick steps came. They ran straight towards him. "Joey? Tristan? Are you there?", Yugi asked uncertainly and stopped. The quick steps stopped automatically. A branch broke nearby. Yugi looked there, but still saw nothing. Then something brushed against him. Something little. It fell down. Yugi gropes for him. He realized he was holding one arm. "Kelly, the guy is holding me," said Nana. "Let go of the bag. We're leaving Nana. One of them has already tasted our Kaybar knives, "Kelly called back. Yugi crouched on the floor and still held his arm. He felt that something was being handed to him. Yugi took it. Nana got up and ran away. Kelly, too disappeared.
Yugi got up again questioningly and reached into the bag. He wondered why he had gotten money. The others came up to him. "Yugi, what have you got there?" Asked Joey. "Money, but I don't understand why," replied the little boy. Tristan checked his wallet. Then he screamed. "My money, it's gone!" He said. "Then the money in the bag will be ours," concluded Tea. "Are you telling me that little Nana stole us?" Joey asked. "That's right. But she seemed to talk briefly about Atemu," said Yugi. He distributed the money and then threw the bag down.
"Look, guys. There's a light back there," Serenity said. "Let's go there. Maybe we can find something there," said Tristan. Everyone agreed. When everyone was in the residential area, they walked past every house and asked some citizens if they had seen Atemu. Yet they did not find a single trace. "Shit," it came out of Yugi. His friends looked at him. "What that?" Asked Yugi. "How long have you had such a choice of words?" Grinned Joey. "No time to discuss this, guys. We have to find Atemu," Tea intervened. Serenity nodded. "What if the Pharaoh is sitting in a cafe and drinking hot chocolate?" Said Tristan. Yugi Magen had to growl. "It's already 9:00 pm and we haven't eaten anything," Joey looked at his watch, moaning.
Atemu was dizzy. He woke up again. He had lost a lot of blood. "I have to ... get out of here," he thought. He closed his eyes for a moment. Atemu was freezing. He couldn't feel his fingers anymore. "Yugi," he whispered. He grabbed a stone in his hand and threw it around the corner of the house. He hoped someone would notice.
"What was that?"asked Serenity." What was what? ", asked Joey." I heard a noise, it came from the alley ", his sister pointed a finger at a dark alley." You must have misheard, "he replied." We could look anyway, "said Tea and gave Yugi a look, who nodded in agreement.
The friends walked slowly into the alley. The few street lamps lit it only weakly. Yugi seemed horrified. Serenity screamed. "Oh, you big egg!" Said Joey.
Yugi fell on his knees and shook the Pharaoh. "Atemu? Atemu, wake up! Come on! Atemu!", He shouted and tears ran down him. Tristan pulled out his cell phone and called the hospital. Meanwhile, Joey hugged Serenity. She couldn't really take blood. Tea seemed to be calm, but inside she was very worried.
Sirens sounded. Tristan stood in front of the alley and waved to the ambulance. After that, everything went really quickly. Two paramedics came and checked the Pharaoh's pulse.Yugi was pushed aside.
The paramedics got a couch and dragged the Pharaoh into the ambulance. The friends didn't see much of Atemu anymore. The ambulance drove away. Everyone stood there as if ordered and not picked up.
There was blood on Yugi's hands. He wiped a tear from his face. "Let's go home," he mumbled. Everyone nodded. Joey was still holding Serenity. Nobody dared utter a word. "Actually ... actually we should go to the hospital," Tea intervened. "My grandfather is probably worried and ...", Yugi was interrupted. "I'll just call him," Tristan said and took out his cell phone. Yugi nodded. Tristan clarified everything with Yugi's grandfather. Yugi's grandfather didn't mind, of course. But how did they get to the hospital now?
