Fanfic: It´s Christmas time

Chapter: In the Christmas frenzy

The friends had found a bus stop a few meters away. They knew that there was only one hospital in this area, so they knew immediately which bus to take. Yugi paced up and down impatiently. Serenity and Tea sat in the seats. Joey leaned casually against the wall. Tristan stood in the direction of the street and looked for the bus.
"Now relax, dude. Atemu will definitely make it," Joey's patience broke. Yugi stopped and looked at him. Nobody dared to say a word. "Here he comes", Tristan broke the silence. Everyone looked at the bus.
The journey also passed silently. Yugi looked spellbound at the snow. He went through the images of how he had found Atemu, carefully again. "Stop it," Tea walked over to him. Yugi looked puzzled. "What do you mean?" He asked. "How we found Atemu took every one of us with us. But Joey is right, he will definitely make it," Tea comforted her. "I hope you are right, Tea," sighed Yugi. From then on nobody said anything anymore.
The rest of the journey was uneventful. Ten minutes later they were at the last bus stop. When they got out of the car, he immediately felt cold again. A few minutes later they were standing in front of the large white house. Yugi examined it for a moment. Serenity looked at her watch in shock. "Oh no!" She said. Joey turned to her: “What is it?” Serenity looked at him: “I promised mom to be there on time. But now it's almost 10pm. Shit!” “Joey, you go to Atemu, I'll bring you Your sister will be gone, okay? "Tristan offered. Joey nodded, "Good, do that." Serenity and Tristan said goodbye; Tristan promised to come back as soon as possible.
Tea, Yugi and Joey entered the hospital. They were almost taken by surprise by nurses. They ran back and forth all the time. Joey got sick of looking. Tea and Yugi went for information. An old lady sat in a chair, staring intently at a computer screen.Yugi cleared his throat. The old lady looked up at him. "Yes?" She asked with a croak. Joey came now too. "We'd like to be our friend," said Tea. "Do I look like I have clairvoyance? Who's your friend?" The lady hissed. She glared at Yugi with her small gray eyes. "Well, yes, our friend looks like him here, just a head taller and just looks a little different," Joey pointed to Yugi. The lady coughed. "Dr. Imoto, could you come over here?", She turned away. A young man came up to the old lady and friends. "What's that?" He asked then. "These three youngsters are looking for a friend here. He looks almost like the little one there, just a little bigger and a little different," the lady explained. Dr. Imoto examined Yugi. "Ah ... the young man with the cut in his left thigh," he said then. "Can we see him?" Asked Tea. "Of course, but you have to be quiet. The boy is sleeping. He's lost a lot of blood. If you will follow me, please ", the doctor pointed to a long corridor with a friendly gesture. Yugi sighed in relief.
The third door from the left, two corridors down and the fourth door from the right, then they were finally there. The doctor had asked things about Atemu on the way, for example his name or where he lived. Yugi, Tea and Joey fumbled a little about this.
The three entered the room. Atemu was in a bed, hooked up to equipment, asleep. Tea couldn't hide her tears anymore. Yugi noticed that Atemu's hand was twitching. The Pharaoh opened his eyes slightly and looked around, confused. "Atemu? Are you awake?" Whispered Yugi. Atemu looked at his friend. "Yugi?" He groaned. Tea wiped a tear from her face. "Hey, dude, don't ever do that again," said Joey and grinned. "But you have ... not got the money back", Atemu mumbled. "Yes, Nana and her sister came towards us in the forest. They left the money," Yugi explained.Atemu looked at the ceiling. "I guess we should go," Tea said suddenly. "What do you mean Pharaoh?", Asked Yugi and looked at his friend. Atemu seemed to have fallen asleep again. No wonder, he must have been very tired. "Come on, let's go, tomorrow we can come again," said Joey, pointing with his thumb at the door. Nobody minded. Joey caught Tristan before he could get to the hospital. Yugi went home with a reassured knowledge and made up his mind to visit Pharaoh the next day.
The next morning it started to snow again. Tea was already dressed and wide awake. She sat on her couch and rummaged through a book. A few seconds later, however, she put it away. Tea got up again and looked out the window. "I'm bored," she moaned.
Since yesterday evening she and Tristan had made it into their heads to leave Yugi alone in order to visit the Pharaoh in peace.Suddenly her cell phone rang. Because of the vibration, it fell to the floor. Tea had to go around the table to get her cell phone.
"Yes hello?"
"Tea? Hi, it's Serenity."
"Serenity? What do you want that from me?"
"It's Christmas in four weeks."
"I know that too."
"Yes, and I wanted to ask you if we should buy something for the boys one day. Including the Pharaoh."
"Hm ... why not. Will you come to me then?"
"Yes, of course. I'm almost on my way. See you soon."
"Okay, ciao Serenity."
"Phew, that's at least used up my day," huffed Tea. She rummaged in her wallet. 60, no, 70 €. That would be enough.
Half an hour passed. During this time, Tea packed a handbag and waited on the couch. When the doorbell rang, she was immediately at the door. Tea put on her jacket while Serenity stood in the doorway, pulling the snow out of her hair.
"I just hope the Pharaoh is better than yesterday," thought Yugi and entered the hospital.Immediately he felt a certain warmth flow through his fingers. He walked down the silent corridor to Atemu's hospital room. Before he went in, he sighed again briefly. Atemu was awake. He looked at Yugi. "Tomorrow," said the little boy. Atemu just nodded. He could even get up. Yugi stepped closer to the bed. He was totally uncomfortable for some unknown reason. "How are you?" Yugi asked hesitantly. "Quite good. I'm glad you got the money back," said Atemu. Yugi didn't know what to say.
Tea and Serenity walked down the shopping street and looked around. "We should start with your brother," said Tea. "Actually, I already have a present for him," Serenity admitted. "So? What that?", Tea asked surprisingly. "A lucky charm. I saw him at a bus stop. That's why I got off," said Joey's sister. "Well, our good Joey can use luck," laughed Tea. Serenity looked at her questioningly.
"But I still need a present for him," said Tea and went into a shop. The two girls looked around for a while. Tea then found a perfect gift for him. "Serenity, look, isn't that great for Joey," Tea held up a small plush dog. Serenity just nodded, laughing. "So, what could we give Tristan for gifts? Cards? No, he doesn't play that often," Tea thought hard and took the bag from the little dog. "How about a sweater?" Serenity asked. "Are we giving this together?" Said Tea. Serenity nodded. In the next store they found a really nice sweater. Tea found another fancy skirt for Serenity. While he, in turn, found elegant gloves that would probably suit Tea very well.
So Tea and Serenity bought a small present for each. What they didn't know, Joey and Tristan were also on their way.
"When can you go out again?" Asked Yugi. "Hm ... in three days", Atemu replied quietly. Yugi sighed: "That's really nice."
Suddenly the door popped open. "Hello Pharaoh!", Joey and Tristan entered the room. Tristan had a piece of cake in his hand. He put it in front of the Pharaoh." Joey and I made it ourselves, "he laughed. Atemu and Yugi looked at each other knowingly. As if they would they just exchange their thoughts "It never tastes good. "" Exactly. ". Atemu still didn't show anything." Thank you very much, "he said cheerfully." And dude, how are you? ", Joey asked, leaning over the foot end." Actually good, "Atemu examined the piece of cake." Don't you want to try it? ", Tristan asked and handed the piece to the Pharaoh. Atemu could have howled." Well, of course, "said Yugi and laughed. Tristan and Joey looked at each other confused:" What the? "Hesitantly, he broke off a piece. He chewed on it and noticed that the cake was rock hard. Yugi had to resist laughing." Yugi, you can also try a piece, "offered Joey." No, no, I want Atemu yes don't eat anything, "he grinned. Atemu swallowed the piece of cake." And?Tristan asked. "Really good," Atemu lied with a smile. Tristan took something out of a bag. "We thought, if you like it, we'll give you the whole cake," said Joey. Atemu accepted the cake. "Oh, no," he thought. Yugi looked at the clock. "We have to go. We'll be back tomorrow, "said Tristan and went to the door." I have to go too, "said Yugi and said goodbye.
When Atemu was alone again, he examined the cake. "What am I doing with him now?" He asked himself.
"Phew, Atemu really has a strange taste," said Joey when they came out of the hospital. Yugi looked at him questioningly: “Why?” “We definitely didn't like the cake,” Tristan admitted. "Huh ... if you only knew", Yugi thought and suppressed a laugh.
A nurse came in. "I have to change service association," she said. Atemu nodded. The nurse unwrapped the half-bloody bandage, checked the wound briefly, and tied a new bandage around it.Atemu stopped her when she wanted to go outside. "Wouldn't you like to have this delicious cake?" He asked gently. "Why? Wouldn't you like to eat the cake yourself?" Asked the nurse, puzzled. "No. I'm not hungry at the moment, and I don't like to eat cake that much. And it would be a shame if the cake got moldy," said Atemu. "Well, if you think so, I'll be happy to take it," said the woman, took the cake and went out. Atemu let out a relieved breath. Still, he was sure that the cake would go through the hospital once and then end up in the trash can.
Tea was exhausted on the couch. "The only thing left is the gift for the Pharaoh. I already know what ...", she mumbled ...
