Chapter: 5. the class trip
5. The school trip
On Monday morning at Braunschweig main station shortly before 9 a.m.:
32 children, almost as many mothers and fathers, who wished their children a lot of fun. "Laura! Jule! Come on, I've kept your seats free." That was Alice who was already on the train and urged us to come to her in the compartment. "Have you already thought about how we want to sleep. I mean about the rooms", Laura asked me and Alice. “Can we still go into your compartment?” Charlotte and Jana stood in the doorway. "Sure you can. Do you already know how you want to sleep?" I wanted to know. "We want to sleep together. Maybe the 5 of us can share the same room," suggested Charlotte. We all agreed to that.
After 4 1/3 hours, we were finally there. Malente. "Bad Malente, there has to be so much time", Mrs. Subtra snapped at us. "So. You can give your suitcases to the man there, he'll bring them to the youth hostel. After you've done that, you look at the map and then go looking for the youth hostel.Let's go! ", announced Ms. Schwarzer, the class teacher of the neighboring class. The neighboring class had come too, otherwise it would have cost too much, Ms. Subtra made clear. Did I hear you right? We should look for the youth hostel ourselves? Alone? Please remember me to take revenge for it. It must have a bang!
A good hour later:
“I'll kill her!” It wasn't me, it was Laura, who had the same opinion. We had long since reached the youth hostel when the two teachers finally came after another 13 minutes. As we found out later, they'd just gone for coffee on the way.
(I prefer to listen here and just skip a few minutes, otherwise I will only write bad things about my teachers. =)
When we finally made our beds, unpacked all our things and looked at the area, we had to eat. There was unexpectedly warm, delicious food. Spaghetti Bolonaise, my favorite dish. The rake was only for breakfast, lunch and dinner - we have to set the table and clear it again and then dry it off. "No, I won't do that. Then I'll do the math!" That came from Natascha. How can you be so cocky? Before we could disappear into our rooms again, Ms. Subtra said to us: "We will meet at 7 pm in our common room. See you later! Everyone can go, except for the table service!"
We actually had a very nice time. A whole house for our two classes, a lake nearby and a small town (more like a village. Malente is very small!) Where you can go shopping.
At 7 p.m. there wasn't really anything special, just the division for table service and cleaning service. And how long we can stay outside, when we have breakfast, lunch and dinner. "Cool, we can stay outside until half past eleven!" Laura was enthusiastic. "So now you have a little free time and can go outside."I think Mrs. Schwarzer is trying to make up for the mistake she made earlier.
We ran upstairs to get our jackets and shoes, because here in the house we walked in slippers. “Take your cell phone with you, Jule. Maybe we'll get a cell phone number from a cute boy.” “You always say I shouldn't dream, but do it myself!” I was offended. Today I noticed for the first time how well I could play offended, that was Oscar suspect!
