Chapter 3
-The move-

The person who can put a smile on your face without touching you, without speaking to you, should be the one you give your heart to.

Lilly opened her eyes and looked directly into Alexander's face. She flinched and remembered that he had moved her and that she had asked him to stay with her. Blush rose in her face and she freed herself from Alexander's arms. This grumbled softly, then turned and went back to sleep.
Lilly got up quietly and crept out of the room. In the search for the bathroom she came across empty rooms, rooms that were full and a room that was supposed to be the gesture room, she recognized this from the half-erected bed. Then she finally found the bathroom.
After freshening up, she went into the kitchen and made breakfast. When she was done she went back to the bedroom."Alex?" she whispered softly and shook him lightly.
"Hm?" he muttered sleepily.
"Come on, wake up. I made breakfast. You just have to get up to get it." Lilly smiled and stroked his hair. He opened his eyes and smiled slightly, "Food?" he asked and his smile gave way to a grin. When Lilly wanted to be drawn to her, she took a step back. "Then hurry up, otherwise I'll eat it all alone."

"Do you really want to go to the hospital?" Lilly asked for the second time.
"Yes," he took her hand, "I want to get to know your daughter and fulfill her wish. I've finished the picture."
"Really? You are pointy!"
“I know.” He squeezed her hand and then pulled her up. She smiled at him, but then pulled away from him.
"Let's go then, I have an appointment this afternoon with a realtor." She walked towards the bedroom, but then turned around again. "Can I borrow a shirt from you?And a pair of pants? "
“Why do you have to go to a broker?” Alexander followed Lilly and took out one of his pants, belt and one of his shirts for her.
"My lease has been terminated, I said yesterday it was a rough week," She turned and smiled slightly. "That was one of the reasons, my life at the moment is not exactly what some call fun and easy."
"It never was. Why are they giving you notice? Then where can you go with Anastasia? What are you doing?" he turned her around and looked into her eyes.
"I'll manage it, first I have to find a nice house for us and then I'll see how I can manage everything. And I will, I won't let you down." She looked at him challengingly. Alexander shook his head and pulled her close.
"Lilly you are unique. I love you." He noticed how she stiffened and wanted to push him away, but he held her tight "I'm serious, Lilly.I love you."
"Alex, don't, please. You don't even know me. You can't even know that you love me." She managed to push him back so far that she could look at him.
"Do you really believe that? I'm sure, I think I wrote you something like that too, remember. I have to find out something and you have to help me with it? You did it." He smiled slightly, but then he saw the fear that stood in their eyes.
"Why are you scared now, I am not asking anything from you."
"Love doesn't bring anything, and it is said far too easily, even though you don't mean it," she broke loose and went to the door, "we should go now, otherwise I'll be late for my appointment with the realtor. "
"You can draw here. I have enough space."
"No, I don't want that. You bought this house for yourself."
"Lilly, please. I would be very happy if you moved in here with your daughter. If you stay with me, then I can prove to you that I really love you and you can then calmly tell me what happened to you Tom Has."Alexander saw her tense up.
"You are not responsible for my life and I can do it very well on my own and that with Tom is none of your business." Her eyes hurled lightning bolts, but he preferred that to the fear that had been in them before.
"Lilly, you get me wrong, you've always done that before. I want to offer you my help because I can, but that doesn't mean that you can't do it on your own. I know that you can. "He came slowly up to her and stroked her hair lightly," and you don't have to stay here, but you can then look for something nice in peace and quiet and don't have to take the best first, right? "
"There's something to it, I'm sorry I'm a little stressed. I didn't mean to hit you like that, it's just that ..."
"Do I mess you up?" he smiled slightly.
"No, it's all down to the stress. We have to go when we are with me then I put on decent clothes and then I call the broker and cancel, but only to have a rest here. And Alexander I can't love you because I don't believe in love like that. It can never work, please don't be angry about it. "She turned and walked out of the room and said softly," Thank you anyway. "
"Not for that. I thank you for being there .." What he didn't say was the sad expression and the tear that sat in the corner of Lilly's eye.

“Do you want to go to Susanne?” Lilly had put on normal clothes and was now standing in front of Susanne's room.
“Yes, I would like to get to know your daughter's mother.” Alexander took Lily's hand and gave it a short squeeze.
"Yes, please?" it came weakly from the room as the two knocked.
"Susanne. How are you?" Lilly went to Susanne's bed and took her hand, but Susanne only paid attention to Alex. "Who is that?" she asked in an almost silent voice.
Alexander stepped next to Lilly and smiled, "I'm a good friend of Lilly's." He looked lovingly at Lilly.
"How nice. Then my little Anastasia has a father too," she had to stop talking to get breath again, "I know her face, are you the painter?""Yes I am."
"I like her pictures, they are so full of passion and yet so childlike," she turned to Lilly, "I was able to see Anastasia today. She will be very well. I said goodbye to her." Susanne smiled weakly. "Good luck with your pictures Alexander and Lilly all the best. Now you finally have someone who can comfort and protect you. I was hoping that I can see you again, Lilly." Susanne's hand slackened and a relaxed expression appeared her face while Lilly's tears ran silently down her cheeks. Alexander stood behind her and his hand rested comfortingly on her shoulder.
"She died happily. She has everything she could want for her daughter and also for you." Alexander said quietly.
"I know. It's also stupid to find so much pain. I hardly knew her."
"It's not stupid, Lilly. You have a big heart and once it loves it doesn't stop and find pain when the loved one leaves.""I don't have a big heart. I have a weak heart of stone. I want a heart of stone that can't find this pain, that can't love," Lilly whispered.
"And you know that you don't have it and that I'm right. Because that makes you so special." Alexander pulled her up and took her tightly in his arms. “My sweet Lilly.” He muttered and closed his eyes, because he too found the pain. Firstly because of the woman's death and secondly because he saw Lilly suffering so and sympathized with her pain.
“I have to tell Anastasia and the doctor.” Lilly pushed away, wiped away her tears, stood up straight and took a deep breath.
“I'm going to the doctors, you're going to Anastasia.” Alexander said and they walked out of the room together.

“Anastasia?” Lilly entered the hospital room.
“Yes?” It came out of the mountain of bedspreads sleepily and a curly red head came to light. Lilly sat on the edge of the bed and took another deep breath.
"Your mother, she is ..." Lilly paused and had to swallow her tears again."Is she with papa now? In heaven?" Asked the little girl softly.
"Yes."
"Then she is now an angel and watches over me?"
"Yes, she will always be with you."
“She said that this morning too.” Anastasias eyes slowly filled with tears, so that Lilly pulled her into her arms, rocked her back and forth and cried with her.

Alexander found them both in this position.
"Mom said I should be nice and not cause you any grief. But now you're crying. I'm sorry."
"Anastasia," was all Lilly could manage before her voice cracked.
"You don't give Lilly any grief. She is sad because your mother died and she suffers with you." Alexander came over to the two of them and sat on the other side of the bed. "Well, little Anastasia? May I introduce myself? I'm Alexander." He smiled at her and gave her an elegant kiss on the hand. The girl just stared at him, but her eyes, where before there was sadness, now shone. Lilly's heart stopped for a moment when she saw them and a smile automatically formed on her face.“You are the painter who paints the beautiful pictures. Mama Lilly showed them to me.” Anastasia finally brought out.
"You tell me," Alexander smiled again, "And yes I am. I have a present for you too." He took out the wrapped picture when there was a knock and a sister entered.
"Lilly? I'll talk to her again."
"It's fine, I'll be right there. Alexander are you staying here?"
"Yes. Shall I bring her the good news too?"
"Yes. See you soon Anastasia." Lilly smiled again and then followed the nurse.
When Lilly came back into the room, Alexander was sitting on the bed and looking at the sleeping Anastasia. “She's looking forward to her new home.” He got up, covered the girl again and came up to Lilly.
"How nice, that calms me down. I'll take care of Susanne's funeral. It will be released tomorrow."
"Isn't that going to be too much for you? Lilly, you mustn't overstrain yourself."
"I can do it. Do you have a car that can pull it?I still have to get my and Anastasias things and then distribute Susanne and Peter's things. "
"Not you, we. I'm free until the stables. Let's go out for dinner now and then we can discuss everything." Alexander took Lilly by the hand and the two of them walked out of the hospital to a small restaurant.

"An apple spritzer and number 20, please."
"Same for me, please."
“I'd love to.” The waiter walked away.
"What do you
