Fanfic: Elbenland

Chapter: introduction

The sun slowly rose over the horizon and enveloped the landscape in a delicate pinkish red. The sun rose over the island of Kimopanor; it seemed like a normal day. The first birds began to sing in the tops of the trees and a light breeze made the many leaves rustle softly. It was summer. The animals enjoyed the cool morning hours and played in clearings or scurried through the bushes.
Smiling, the elf girl watched the animals. She had been awake for a few hours and couldn't wait for the day to finally start. The wind gently brushed her long golden blonde hair and let it blow around her forehead. She stood on the terrace in front of her room and now watches the sunrise. The first rays made her long hair glisten and her cheeks glowed red.
She often enjoyed such moments of absolute peace and quiet, but today would be a very different day for her. But that didn't bother her in the least. Who is annoyed that on their birthday, especially at the beginning of adulthood, there is a lot of hustle and bustle and excitement? And the birthday of the island's princess would be celebrated grandly and magnificently.
Even if she enjoyed the virtues of a princess, there were still some things that Alexandra hated. And her greatest disgust was with any kind of very pretty clothes. She loved her only pair of pants that she owned and wore them as often as she could. And much rather than learning how to behave as a princess, she would expand her skills with a sword, bow and arrow. Because although her mother hated to catch her doing it, Alexandra didn't let herself be stopped from doing this job. She was too attached to them.
The dewdrops glittered on the green leaves in the garden in front of the royal family. It was a cool morning for the summer, but a pleasant one. The sunlight was reflected in every single drop of water and made the whole area shine. Alexandra looked into the forest, which began shortly after her property and which she knew like the back of her hand. This is where she spent most of the time with her cousin Sebastian when they met. He would also be present at today's celebration. She was really looking forward to it.
But a small shadow still covered her mind. Yesterday she rode into the forest east of her house again with Sebastian. The two had discovered a strange house on one of their excursions. It did not appear to have been built in the Elvish style and it caught their attention very much. So they decided to take a closer look. But after a few steps towards the house, a man appeared out of nowhere and sent her away. It was his territory and no one was allowed to enter it without permission, he had claimed.
But which Elf was so unfriendly? What was it about the house that was so well protected. Or wasn't it just elves who lived on Kimopanor?
