Chapter: Letter to the Duke
Mine has often been confronted with the question of why mine turned to the art of writing at that time. In the following I would like to show you, dear audience, a letter that one of my anno Domini wrote to my former prince. In this letter you will learn the true background of my passion for this art and why one of me renounced a career as a medical professional:
Feb. 29, 1885
Venerable Duke and Revered Prince!
Forgive me for recently writing this one letter from another country.
Forgive me for trampling his overly good-naturedness like a mangy street dog. Forgive me for unfairly escaping the area with the prison in order to experience an independence that I only knew by name until then. Yes, my dearest Duke, you are right: your so highly praised university was a terrible prison for me and my heart!My heart was filled with poetry and poetry and longed so ardently for the freedom of life that it could linger there longer.
My beloved Prince and Duke!
He forgive me that one of me is able to express his thoughts so bluntly, but I have to admit in a certain way that medicine as such is not on my part and I am of the firm and unmistakable belief that as a field doctor I would be of no use as such. My heart, however, has always been kind to poetry, as much as love brings an awakening morning to the dewy grass! Yes, my esteemed Duke! My heart has fallen deeply into poetry as only a hot-blooded youth of a beautiful maiden could ever be. Forgive me, my lord, but I ask you not to assert my outrageous offense but mine.
Nevertheless, I trust in the more than magnanimous heart of my prince and that He may most sincerely forgive me ...In venerable memory,
Thanyael Trouchère
Knight of the white order and bearer of the golden coat of arms
Yes, dear readers: mine is more than 200 years old. How does that work when the date comes from the 18th century? Well, I was born on a cold winter night in 1654. Due to small allusions in my other works, you will have surely already guessed who or what I really am:
Well, one of me was cursed by a kiss from a vampire when I - just a twenty-five year old boy - succumbed to blood. Ladies, please do not be alarmed, because one of me knows very well how to be polite during the day - or rather, during the night - instead of having to worry about crucifixes and garlic. * charming smile *
I don't want to go into more detail about my becoming as a vampire, that would be too much insight into my private sphere, which would also be very embarrassing for me .. ^^ ;;
Now, however, I would like to return to this specially written letter: I hope it has shown you what prompted me to become poetry at the time, but without giving you too much insight into my soul.Be that as it may, you are well, ladies and gentlemen ...
Sincerely:
Your Thanyael
