Well that's the beginning ...
Chapter 1: Demonic Brothers
One day a hero will shed light on the darkness that surrounds us all. His deeds will be remembered for millennia by the people of Iphilia, and his name will be a memorial to the tides.
Raksha opened his eyes ... A flash of lightning had lit his room and tore the young prince from a rather strange dream in which he stood alone in the dark and was surrounded by nothing.
He touched his sweat-soaked forehead and realized that it was just a dream.
Raksha was a Shati and not just anybody, but the second born of King Ares Erjeijl, so he was a prince. His blond hair came down to his chin, although it was a little longer at the back of the head. He had eyes as black as the night and his skin was tanned from the hot desert sun. With a stately height of eight feet and a fairly muscular body, he was without a doubt one of the prettiest of his kind.Shatis were a people of cats, which were a mixture of a human and a lion. Basically, they looked like humanoids except for the long, bushy tail, lynx-like ears, and black-rimmed eyes.
Raksha looked out the window and saw that it was raining and that it was thunderstorm. Another flash of lightning lit his room, whereupon a deep rumbling thunder followed, the prince winced. The fifteen-year-old reached beside him. On his oak chest of drawers was a water bottle, which he reached for. He always had to drink at night, it gave him a sense of calm and security. He swallowed the cool water quickly, like a calf that was finally allowed to drink from its mother.
Raksha yawned and lay down again, a few minutes later he fell asleep ...
The sun was over the mountain Ebenza when the lively hustle and bustle in the town of Erjeijlia started. Traders set up their stalls and general stores opened their doors. It was the end of summer, the hottest time was over in the land of Sa-kara'a, the desert kingdom.
Visitors or other people usually had problems adapting to the hot climate, as the hot desert wind burned their throats like snake venom for other people. Shatis were understandably adapted to these harsh conditions, in the summer they wore airy clothes and did not wear shoes in order to have a better grip on the sand. In the winter, when the snow and ice swept around their ears and the degrees reached their minus points, they wore thick furs and boots. Few children were born in winter, and if they did, there was almost a 100 percent chance that they would die. Raksha's birthday was December 8th, which made him very unique. There had already been a lot of rumors about his birthday ...
Eres Erjeijl stroked his deep black, straight hair, which reached up to his eyes. His ice-blue eyes went from stand to stand, nothing escaped them.A middle-aged woman approached him.
"Have a nice good day, my prince, may I offer you one of my excellent fruits?"
Eres eyed the woman very carefully. Her dress was worn and moth-eaten. She was also bare, which was another sign of poverty.
"With pleasure, my lady."
He took an apple and gave her roughly three times the amount of gold the apple must have been worth. Yes, Eres Erjeijl was the firstborn of the king and arguably the favorite of the people. The young prince was a handsome twenty-five years old, about six feet tall, and very well behaved. He was completely different from his younger brother. Raksha was impetuous, gruff, and was always known for "improper deeds". Eres loved his little brother very much despite the many quirks he had, although he knew full well that his little brother did not always feel so comfortable in his presence. Where did that come from? Raksha had been in Eres' shadow for years ...To sum it up briefly; Eres was the thinker and Raksha the one who acted.
The prince with the blue eyes continued on his way, he had a lot to do today, his father had given him a long list of assignments, which of course he had to do carefully. Ares had never given his youngsters any jobs or running errands, for fear he would forget his job or simply not do it for sheer convenience.
Eres way led to the granary, rumor has it that the overseer should always secretly slip something to himself there. The prince opened the wooden, but quite stable door and entered the room. The grain was carefully stored in different compartments so that you could see exactly how much was left. Eres noticed a boy who was about twelve years old.
"Hey you, do you know where the supervisor is?"
The boy made a deep bow, as it should be.
"Yes, he is out of the country, dear prince, but I don't know exactly where he went."Eres' blue eyes studied the boy closely, since he didn't seem to be lying, he believed him and left the granary.
Out of the country ... where might he have gone?
Raksha sleepily opened his deep black eyes and yawned with all his soul, as if he had slept for centuries. He often looked at the window first and observed the rays of the sun that penetrated the fog like lamps.
It seems to be noon already, have I really slept that long?
With difficulty he got up from his four-poster bed, which was decorated with red curtains, and stood up. Raksha pulled on his black leather pants, a red sleeveless top and a white belt as he left his room. He was already wondering what to do tonight, maybe go to the tavern or make a few girls happy.
He stepped out of his room and looked into the wide corridors of his castle, how much he hated his home and loved it so much at the same time.
Raksha decided to quit a little, because it was such a wonderful day and felt the desire to go hunting. He was about to open the big door when he heard his father's voice.
"Raksha, come to me at once!"
The young prince turned abruptly and went back to the great throne room. He opened the thick, gold-decorated door and stepped inside. The very large and impressive room was flooded with large windows. In each corner stood a statue, one each, of a member of the royal family. The throne was made of pure gold and the walls were decorated with numerous pictures that showed the individual epochs of the Shatis.
