Rainy season
Chapter 6

The lost boy sighed when he came to. Then he swallowed briefly and his eyes widened. He was lying in her bed in Shampoo's room, and the Amazon was snuggled close to him and slept peacefully. The catch was that they were both completely naked under the covers. Ryoga could feel the girl's skin against his. He got hot and cold as he tried to keep his composure.AND to keep his nose from bleeding because losing blood would likely kill him. Suddenly Shampoo opened her eyes and looked straight at him.
"(You are awake? That's good)," she said softly and smiled. Stars stood before the prodigal boy for a moment, but he couldn't pass out again.
"(What ... why ... how)?" Ryoga stuttered and looked at the young amazon in disbelief.
"(What have you got?)" Shampoo asked, then stopped and tried to suppress a smile.
"(Oh, that's what you mean ...)", the girl then stated calmly.
"(Yes, that's what I mean ..)," he said indignantly.
"(Could you explain why ..)"
Ryoga broke off, embarrassed, unable to continue.
"(You passed out in the bathroom and I took you to my room)" Shampoo explained to him.
"(Since you were cold, I warmed you. Or would you have preferred great-grandmother Cologne to have undressed you?)"At the thought the prodigal boy struggled to suppress a shudder of horror.
"(I see ..)" he muttered more soothedly.
"(Then would you let go of me so I could get dressed ...?)" Ryoga turned to the smiling girl.
Shampoo nodded.
"(Yes, I could ...)", she replied in a friendly manner, but the Amazon still held him tight and made no move to let go of him.
"Shan-Po?"
"(Yes?)" His cheeks flushed.
"(You said you'd let go of me!)" He continued with a dry mouth.
She definitely shook her head.
"(No, I said I could let go of you)," corrected the young Amazon.
"(But I didn't say that I would release you. Because I don't want to.)"
Ryoga was speechless and the girl continued in a very specific tone of voice.
"(Besides, why do you want to get dressed now? It's the middle of the night and we should rest. Sleep like everyone else!)""(But, Shan-pu! That won't work!)" Protested the prodigal boy weakly.
"(I mean ... what is your great-grandmother going to think?)" Unimpressed, Shampoo returned his desperate look.
"(That I am exercising my rights granted by her)", she said dryly and made his breath catch for a moment.
"(What?)" He managed to croak.
"(She won't really believe ...)?"
The Amazon girl nodded. "(Yes, she does, Ryoga)" Shampoo confirmed to the horrified boy.
Then she said reassuringly to him: "(But we can sort that out tomorrow ..)"
He returned the hug gently as she began to sob uncontrollably.
"(Shan-pu)," the lost boy whispered worriedly. She looked up and Ryoga saw the tear streaks on her face.
“(What happened)?” Instead of answering, the Amazon pressed closer to him and wept openly. After a while she stopped and composed herself again.
"(Do you want to talk about it?)" He asked in a soft voice.Shampoo had to smile because she had said the same words to him not so long ago.
"(Yes!)" She finally said and began to tell.

While it was still raining outside, the prodigal boy lay awake and thought.
He glanced sideways at the sleeping Amazon, who was lying deeply asleep in his embrace.
"I would never have believed her to do that ..." Ryoga stated to himself. His mind drifted back to what Shampoo had told him. About how she had thrown a ramen box over Ranma's head and left it to Akane. That it had been a liberation for her, but with consequences for the young Amazon, which might lead to shampoo being expelled from the tribe ...
His face darkened.
“That damn Saotome!” What surprised him wasn't that his anger was with Ranma, but that he was so angry with his eternal rival for shampoo.
"And all because the Saotomes behaved like the proverbial elephants in a china shop."Once again..."
If the two had been a little more skilful in the village of the Amazons, many events would never have started.
"Actually, I should be jealous of Ranma because of Akane ...", the lost boy thought, but inside he only found the picture of a violet-haired girl.
His feelings for Akane seemed to have faded.
He suppressed a sigh and studied the fine features of the sleeping Amazon.
"He'll pay for that! I promise you ..."
Finally he closed his eyes too and tried to get some sleep.
"I won't let you down, Shan-pu!" the prodigal swore before he fell asleep as well.

In the meantime, Cologne was still awake in her room. The old woman tiredly put aside a scroll and rubbed her forehead.
"Again nothing ..." she muttered and shook her head.
It didn't look good for her granddaughter. Cologne had read through almost all of the tribe's legal texts and rules and looked for a possible loophole in order to find a reasonably honorable solution for Shan-pu.She glanced at the few remaining scrolls and let out a deep breath.
"There must be a way ..."
Finally the old Amazon went back to work and began studying the next scroll.
