Chapter 07: Farewell
"Alexis ??? Where are you going ???" calls Atticus while he sees Alexis running out of the room. But there is no answer from her. Atticus looks over at the others, startled. "We have to go after her," he continues. "What are we waiting for?", Chazz replies. Everyone immediately sets off to follow Alexis.
Alexi's heart beats like crazy as she walks down the hall. She feels as if it is about to jump out of her chest. Alexis can't say why she thinks Jaden survived the fall ... she just feels it and she doesn't want to think about that she is fooling her feelings either. Alexis reaches the front door of the girls' quarters, but instead of walking through, she stops in front of it. "Please, please, let me be proved right. Jaden! Please be there!", She says to herself, opens the door and sprints on towards the slope.
"Alexis! Wait for us!", A voice sounds from the background as Alexis disappears through the door.It's Atticus again trying to find out what his sister is up to. But again he doesn't get any reaction from her. "Where is she going?" Asks Zane. "Probably towards the slope again." Replies Bastion.
Alexis is running at a pace she has never done before. No matter what gets in its way, goes around or skips it, nothing can stop it. The closer Alexis gets to the slope, the more nervous and anxious she becomes. All your hope rests in the moment to come. A few meters before the slope, however, Alexis slows down because she is out of breath and because her emotional state beckons it to her. Zane lets go of Atticus again and Atticus answers him ... "You are right. Let them wait for them under the tree over there ". You sit or stand under the nearby tree and wait for Alexis. If Alexis walked half a meter more, she could look down the slope. With a sad look and a low voice, she says ... "I would give anything to have you come back. Everything!...
