Ein Teddybär als stummer Todeswächter

A teddy bear as a silent death guard

A teddy bear as a silent death watcher

The wind gently brushed the sticky hair from her face so that she had a clear view of what was happening that she wanted so much to forget. To forget. Never see again. The smell of rotting flesh filled the air. She inevitably had to gag. It choked her air like a gallows rope around her delicate neck. They were everywhere. A field of dead. She could look where she wanted, but always the same picture. People. Blood. So much blood. Gingerly she raised her left hand. The moist, warm blood ran down her hand like a small trickle down to her arm. She didn't care. It didn't hurt either. The wind kept blowing. Cold. Her gaze turned away. How so? Why did all this have to happen? Didn't they have a right to life? Were they not just people who wanted to live? Her right hand was trembling. A small, broken, dark brown teddy bear, with only one eye and many places from which light gray material popped out, lay on the dirty floor, strewn with debris and corpses.Trembling, she sank to her knees. How did he get here? She had left him behind! With unspeakable delicacy, she picked up the teddy bear and hugged him. Streams of tears flooded her cheeks, reddened from the freezing cold. It wasn't the first and definitely not the last time on this day when she had to give in to wet tears. Was he the last thing left to her? Just a little consolation from her previous life, which only seemed like a wonderful, but unfortunately, far too short dream.
Suddenly she flinched. There they were again! The screams! The screeching voices that escaped them, but were ultimately found by them and tortured to death. Like frozen ice that was slowly beginning to thaw, it ran down her spine. The screams! They were transfixed in her head. Mummy! A shot! A single shot in the silence! Blood! So much blood! The individual images passed agonizingly slowly in front of her inner eye.It went so fast! Too fast! Everything blurred at once. Mummy! Path! Forever! Only darkness and cold was all she knew after the shot. She didn't know how she managed to escape from the building or even to stand here on the corpse field.
The sky seemed to be changing color. A bright yellow and pitch black clouds came up. Far from the scene, the first lightning bolts began to split the sky with great strength. Fine rain began to fall from the sky. Would he just wash away what happened? She wasn't sure. Her gaze turned from the sky to the ground. And suddenly she knew how hell was. Nothing could be worse than what had happened here a few moments ago.
A mighty clap of thunder ripped her suddenly from her thoughts. Panicked, she pressed the teddy bear against her face with all her might. Hoping he could save her from fear of the unknown. But deep down she knew there was no escape. There never was. The fine drizzle washed her tears and the dried blood from her hands.
Steps. Quiet, but clearly audible steps could be heard through the slow, steadily increasing rain. Your heart suddenly jerks. They were! They looked for survivors who had survived the mass slaughter by hiding in order to finally destroy the refugees. She had to flee! It wouldn't be long and they would kill her too. Like her mother. They didn't know the word grace. They just killed. They probably never did anything else.
She got up quickly. Her body was heavy. Heavier than it ever was. Automatically her legs started running, but it was as if she wasn't going to move. The dead people blocked her way. She made progress only with difficulty. Further! Always on! She pushed herself. She couldn't stop. Wasn't allowed to look back! With the cuddly bear tight to her, she struggled to a small alley, where a tiny alcove protruded. She knew it was only a matter of time before they found her here. But she wasn't afraid. She had been afraid before this all happened. It didn't matter now. Her gaze fell on the little bear again, who was staring at her sympathetically and sadly. A gentle woman's voice called her name in a soft whisper, while the ice-cold wind continued to rustle over the almost deadly quiet place: "......., come here! I'm not hurting you!" Startled, she turned around. What was that? A bright light blinded them. Slowly her eyes got used to the harsh light that illuminated the night. A woman with flowing robes and white eyes beamed at her with a smile. “You don't need to be afraid. I don't mean anything to you!” Slowly, very slowly she walked towards the strange woman, who she continued to smile sympathetically at. The little bear slipped from her hand, but she didn't seem to notice as it fell to the muddy ground. "Who are you?" She asked hesitantly, while studying the white woman carefully."I am your guardian angel. Until now I have always taken care of you, but it is time. I will take you away from here. To a place where you are safe." The white woman gently took her hand and together they stepped up the bright light too. As if hypnotized, she stared into the bright light that radiated so much warmth and security. From a distance, you could see an angelic woman, with a little girl by the hand, marching towards a bright light and disappearing into a tunnel of different colors.
Nobody took part in this spectacle, except for a little teddy bear who, more broken than alive, sat in the dirty, wet mud and let the rain swell up. It seemed like he was smiling happily to himself, knowing full well that he had done a little girl a big favor.
