Chapter 1 / Part 1:

Mysterious murders

For the next few days, Shinichi stayed in his room. He didn't even leave to go to school. His parents tried to talk to their son at first, but they always stood in front of the locked door and they never got an answer. Even Ran Mori, his childhood friend, who visited him on the first day he was absent from school, and Professor Agasa couldn't get him to open the door or say a word to them. Ran did not show up after that and Shinichi's parents and Agasa had no choice but to wait for the boy to come out of his room by himself. The sixth day after Shinichi's transformation into a vampire began like the previous five days had also begun. Yukiko and her husband got up early. Yusaku was preparing breakfast in the kitchen while his wife knocked on Shinichi's door.
"Shinichi? Are you awake?", She asked and waited a second, but there was no silence behind the door.
"Breakfast is ready. It would be nice if you could eat with us." Yukiko let a little time pass again. She heard dishes rattling from below, the noise of the coffee machine and now and then her husband, who swore when something went wrong. There was no answer from the other side of the locked door, Yukiko decided to go into the kitchen and leave her son alone for the rest of the day. At some point he would come out, after all, he couldn't stay in the room forever.
Yukiko ate lunch alone, because Yusaku met with an editor who was supposed to give him information about his new book.In the late afternoon, Heiji called, which Yukiko found difficult to get rid of. Yukasu came back in the evening and found his wife watching TV, watching a comedy.
He greeted her with a kiss and immediately asked about Shinichi.
"He didn't come out of his room today either," she replied.
"So, not today either." With his jacket over his arm, the writer of various bestsellers prepared to go upstairs. Yukiko, who knew her husband only too well, at least in this respect, jumped off the sofa to block his way.
"What you up to?"
"I want to get him out of there."
"Do you want to break open the door?"
"Don't be silly. I'm a vampire and I can get a locked door open without kicking it in."
"You can't get in there that easily.", She tried again to bring Yukasu to her senses. What he was up to could only go wrong.
"He's had enough time to get used to it. Now it's time to start his training.""Hello? Are you still okay? You can't go straight to the limit. Shinichi won't have coped with it that quickly. And anyway, you seem to have forgotten that he's not a real vampire yet. You don't even know what skills he already has. Besides, there is one more thing that we still have to talk about and that is not as easy as you would like it to be. And I would like to talk to you about it alone without Shinichi, even if it is concerns him. "
"And what is that supposed to be?", Suddenly a voice came from behind Yukiko, which sounded like Shinichi. And indeed, Yukiko looked into her son's pale face when she turned around. He had managed to get right behind her without her or Yukasu noticing him.
The young detective looked from his mother to his father and back again, waiting for either of them to answer his question. However, he could already guess what the "thing" was.It couldn't really be anything other than his relationship with Heiji Hattori, which he should give up.
Yukasu was silent, however, and Yukiko took her son in his arms, happy that he had finally come out of his room - mind you.
Shinichi freed himself from his mother's grip, walked past his father without looking at him and went into the living room, where he sat down on the armchair. His parents followed him.
"Shinichi?", Yukiko's voice was soft and barely audible, but Shinichi, who had just stared at the floor, now looked at his mother. His expression was serious and his eyes were cold. Yukiko didn't know what to say next. Everything seemed wrong to her at that moment. Yukasu, on the other hand, seemed to know exactly what to do next. The moment had come for him to prepare Shinichi for his future task and the life of a vampire. He sat down across from his son, Shinichi not taking his eyes off him for a minute."We will start your training tomorrow," he said shortly and succinctly and with a tone that did not allow any repetition. He had made the calculation without Shinichi, however.
"But only you believe that," the student detective replied confidently, "I won't chase after some powers of darkness that I didn't even know existed before. I won't kill anyone either, because I'm not a murderer, let alone want to be one. And above all, I'm not separating from Heiji, so don't even start. "
"What you want does not matter in this world, of which you have become a part. As long as you are not a full-fledged vampire, you only have to obey and learn, otherwise death is just waiting for you. And believe me, it will not be pleasant. You see, you have no choice but to start your training tomorrow. "
The old vampire rose.
"You will go to school like every morning, in the afternoon you will alternate between training and studying. And should you feel hungry or thirsty, go to the fridge and don't bite yourself. "Yukasu's index fingers pointed to Shinichi's arms, which were covered by white sleeves. Nevertheless, he must have seen the times Shinichi had done to himself When the urge for blood had become unbearable. Subconsciously, it stroked his right arm. His father glanced at him again, then pulled his wife with him and left Shinichi alone in the living room. He knew only too well that he was who had lost a fight, it made no sense to keep fighting it, not after the dream he had had.

Comment:

Well, it took a long time, I know, too long, to be honest. I really have to be ashamed of myself.

The second part is already in progress and should also be finished this month. What should be called will be ready this month. Isn't there a lot that still needs to be written. Heiji will probably not appear in the next part and if so, at the very end.It will mainly be about Shinichi's education and we will learn what skills he already has or does not have.

So, look forward to the second part of "Mysterious Murders", in which we find out the real reason for Shinichi's parents' move to L.A., learn about Shinichi's abilities and break one or the other. ^^
