An eagle flew over the treetops of the Forgotten Forest. Was there something, no, he must have been wrong, or was he? Now the eagle took a closer look. But there was something. A mouse, that's what he'd been waiting for. Flattened his wings and plunged into a dive. A few seconds later he had the mouse in his talons. Standing on the floor, he plucked the mouse. A rustle startled him, with a few powerful flaps of his wings he rose up and did a few laps in the air. From the air he saw the little creature crawling out of the undergrowth. When the little creature came into the last sunlight, the eagle realized what it was.
It was a little wolf. When he looked up, the eagle saw a moon-shaped drawing between the eyes. The eagle had met the wolf before, not very long ago. Back then he had ruined his hunt, that shouldn't happen again. His friends called him Lina, the eagle did not want to deal with a baby wolf and flew annoyed in the direction where the wolf came from.Maybe he got something to catch after all.

Lina looked after the eagle. “What a shame,” she thought, “I wanted to play with him.” She bowed her head to smell the dead mouse, and raised her head in disgust. Her mother said she would eat that one day, but she couldn't imagine it. Whenever she told her mother about never eating meat, she always laughed. "I've never heard of a wolf who was a vegetarian," she once said. Lina had only replied that she would be the first then. "You will change your mind. It is in our blood to eat animals." Lina hadn't replied to that, besides, Nacho had just turned up.
That's Nacho! Where was she again with her thoughts? They wanted to meet at the entrance to the cave and then go to the big tree.
Lina ran off she was running late anyway.

The big tree was an old hollow oak. It towered above the other trees, but you couldn't see it from the air because it looked as if several trees were standing on a hill.
Some leaves wafted towards Lina and Nacho. It wasn’t a long way to the big tree, but today it seemed forever far. A pitiful howl came towards them. "What was that?" Asked Nacho. "That was just the wind," Lina reassured him. She was scared herself too, but showing Nacho that only reinforced his theory that Lina was just as scared as he was. Lina ran off. "Where do you want to go Lina?", Nacho called after her, "Don't leave me here alone!" "Well, come on, you lame donkey", Lina called back. Nacho ran off now too, Lina only recovered at the big tree.
Lina stood in front of the small opening to the cave under the tree. "Why are you standing there like that?" Nacho asked Lina, out of breath.When she didn't answer, he pushed himself next to her to look into the cave entrance. Now he too stood in astonishment. In the entrance to her secret hiding place was a little wolf no older than she. "Doesn't look like he's only been lying there today," Nacho stated. Lina didn't answer, she looked spellbound at the little wolf boy. "Maybe we should take him with us, otherwise something could happen here," said Lina. "Without me," Nacho said quickly, "you know that my parents don't like it when I bring strangers with me." "My mother would definitely not mind," said Lina.
While they were talking like that, the little wolf, who had slept just a moment ago, opened his eyes and looked up at Nacho and Lina in astonishment. When Lina noticed that he was awake, she put her head into the cave to him. At first he shrugged away, but then came out with his head. "Hello, I'm Lina and this is my friend Nacho," Lina nodded in Nacho's direction, "and what's your name?"" Tr ... Tri ... Trino ", stammered the little wolf." Hello Trino what are you doing here? First they went to Nacho's parents' cave. Then Lina and Trino made their way to the clearing where Lina and her mother lived a bit separated from the rest of the pack.
The small clearing was surrounded by thick undergrowth and tall trees. There were only two small openings. One was so small that even Lina had problems getting through, and she was already relatively small for her age, the other was just big enough for a full-grown wolf to fit through.
Lina came through the large opening with Trino. Lina's mother lifted her head sleepily and rose heavily. She yawned once, and you could clearly see her big teeth. "Well? Back so early?"
