-How to take change for granted ... or not ...-

The eleventh hour of the day had already struck and Tsunade was sitting impatiently on her large, comfortable executive chair behind her desk. In front of her stood, as always on time Sakura and as was to be expected, a little too late Kakashi. But the only one who was still missing was the bearer of the seal of the nine-tailed fox, Kyuubi; Naruto. He hadn't been seen since yesterday afternoon. His teacher, Kakashi assumed he had gone back into the forest to train. But it was unusual for the chaotic but reliable boy not to appear at the appointment at the Hokage.At the same time, he clumsily opened his eyes. Naruto's vision was still blurry, but when he rubbed his face it became clear. When he looked at the clock, he was startled. "Schheeiii ... I overslept!" As fast as he could, he straightened his hair and hurried to the village. Kakashi was correct in his assumption that the blonde had trained yesterday afternoon and evening, but he had not come home in the middle of the night, but had fallen asleep in the forest like a stone and only now woke up.

Out of breath and sweaty, Naruto stormed into the office. “I'm sorry, I'll never be late again!” He leaned over to put his hands on his knees so he could prop himself up and take a deep breath. Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "So ... Then we can start now!" Mentally she wondered where Naruto was coming from. Out of his apartment, it was unthinkable for her, it wasn't a long way, that shouldn't have drained the seal bearer so much.The present Jounin was also surprised, but he would speak to Naruto later. So the three Shinobi first listened to the Hokage. She was very pleased with the completion of her last mission, even if it turned out to be harder than planned. That's why she wanted to give them some rest over the next few days.

A few days later, the Kakashi team got their next job. They should bring a message to Suna. So, after packing a few things, the three Shinobi set off. Sakura reported to Naruto during what she had learned in healing techniques from Tsunade and tried again and again to ask the blonde what he had been taught during his long training with Jiraiya. They still hadn't managed to speak in detail, something always came up. First Gaara's kidnapping, then the Chuunin exam for Naruto and finally the mission to Sajury. But as hard as the young woman tried, the seal bearer told her very little.Even when they rested in the evening, he was calm. Naruto then ate something and quickly went to sleep. He also always insisted that the rest of the team calm down quickly. He always justified this with the fact that they were reasonably rested the next day in order to make faster progress.
Their arrival in Suna was not much different. After the team of three handed over their message to Gaara, the latter invited them to a party. Kakashi and Sakura were very happy to accept this. Naruto, however, apologized politely and after being allocated his quarters, he withdrew.

Other small missions followed. Team Kakashi had it easy. But with each passing day it is getting harder for Naruto to keep up. Even if she just had time to study or exercise, he stayed calm and then retired to his apartment.
Sakura didn't really worry about it. She suspected that her boyfriend had just grown up and calmed down over the years he was with Jiraya.She also believed that in those two and a half years, Naruto had found life here in Konoha to be rather boring.
Kakashi eyed Naruto's behavior with more concern. Despite everything, it wasn't just a huge personality change that his former student must have gone through, he rather suspected that there was more to it than that. Unfortunately Naruto didn't talk about it and even when the jounin asked the young man about it, he didn't give any information and insisted that everything was okay.

A few more weeks passed and one morning the team around Kakashi, Sakura and Naruto should report back to the high Hokage, Tsunade. As always, the young Chuunin was the first to enter the office, she was good and smiled. About twenty minutes after the agreed time, Kakashi stepped over the threshold as well. He immediately drew his visible eyebrow under his headband while Tsunade angrily pounded his fists on the desk, which almost broke it."I should separate this team immediately! Naruto has really got used to your bad habits, Kakashi ... You should be a better role model for them even if you are no longer their teacher !!!!"
The addressee raised his hands soothingly and shook his head.
"That's not entirely correct. I suspect we have a more serious problem!"
