Chapter: Thyr

We reached Thyr around noon. It was a small but prosperous city. There were only half-timbered houses and an impressive church stood in the middle of the village. The streets in Thyr were paved.
"Where do we want to land?"
"There."
Tom pointed to a house with an attached tower that was specially decorated. It had to be the town hall.
I ended up in the square in front of the building, probably the market square. There was hustle and bustle there, but when the citizens saw me, they stormed off and even left their market stalls behind.
"I hate that we dragons are so feared. I wouldn't hurt a fly."
"Well, there is nothing you can do about that. Wait here, I have to speak to the mayor for a moment, I'll be right back."
"Don't take too much time."
Tom disappeared into the building and I lay down in the middle of the market square. In the meantime I saw the citizens looking around the street again.
After a few minutes, the vigilantes arrived and surrounded me.They were all very young men who carried a spear and were very scared, I could tell. I didn't do anything. The vigilantes stopped in a circle around me, undecided what to do.
"Don't you want to attack me?" I asked.
People looked at each other. One of them took courage and hit my tank with his gun. He does not build anything with it. The incident that night had shown me that I could absolutely rely on my tank.
The others started an attack too, but they didn't even want to get it right. They didn't want to see blood or kill any living thing. They weren't even aimed at sensitive areas like my eyes. They were just too young to fight.
Finally Tom came back from the town hall and to me.
"Ah, you made some new friends," he said.
When the people saw the prince, they left me immediately and kept their distance.
"Yes. You just got to try your guns."
"Well then let's go.I know where we are most likely to find him, the wizard. "
I walked the streets next to him. The vigilante group stayed behind on the market square. There was not a single soul to be seen on the streets before us. Everything was swept empty.
"I say yes, you are scared of me."
"Don't worry about that. We'll be there in a moment."
We arrived at a half-timbered house with the number 13. It looked just like everyone else on the street.
"Why 13?"
"Bad luck. You have to go alone. I can't go through the door."
Tom sighed and knocked on the door. Shortly afterwards an old man with white hair and a beard opened the door. He was wearing a brown coat. That was how the magicians were imagined.
"Hello. I'm Prince Tom. Are you Albertus?"
"Yes I am."
"There is a suspicion that you used magic. I need to search your house."
He showed a parchment.
"Yes, just come in." Said the old man, "do you mind if I stay out here?""No, not really. As long as you don't run away."
Tom gave me a look. I understood and nodded. Tom disappeared into the house.
"Tell me, dragon, how many of your kind are there?"
"I don't know. But there are not very many left."
"Oh, I've always wanted to talk to a dragon."
"My name is Theo."
"Nice to meet you, Dragon Theo."
"Says, are you really a wizard?"
"Ohoho, maybe. Maybe not. You want to know how to get back into your dimension?"
"You know about it?"
"I feel a rift in space-time. If this continues, the universes will implode. One by one."
"What can we do?"
"What can you do? Oh, not much. The damage has already been done. Find the time mage, he can help you."
"Who is this?"
"Well, I don't know. I forgot."
"But what can we do then?"
"I already said, find the time mage, he can help you.""How can we find him?"
"You might find a lead in the great Amgon library. Who knows?"
"Amgon."
"Exactly there."
Tom came out again now. He was holding a book.
"I found this magic book. With that we would have to arrest you now, Albertus."
"Yes, yes, that is the book. Theo, I would like to give you this book as a present. Perhaps it will help you a little further."
"Oh, thank you very much. Tom, he gave me valuable information. Maybe we should-"
"Yes, I have already thought of that. Albertus, you will get away with another warning. Since you already gave Theo the book as a present, I no longer need to confiscate it. I wish you a good day."
We walked down the streets in the direction of the town hall. I told Tom what Albertus had told me.
"That sounds bad."
"It's probably even worse than it sounds."
"Then we should do something. But first, let's see what's in this spellbook."He opened the book as he walked.
"Oh, my God. We'd better take a look at that."
"Can't you read it?"
"Not really. What gibberish."
"Let's see."
He held the book in front of my nose.
"Hm, that looks like the language of the dragons. A very elegant language, really."
"You can read it?"
"Yes. Any word. These are mostly magic formulas. This is really very useful."
We came back to the market place. The vigilante group had meanwhile withdrawn, but the place was still empty.
"I'm just going to the town hall quickly to get my things. Then we can go on."
