After leaving the ghost island behind, they came to the quiet spring island Usus, Nami had found out that the lockport here took a month to readjust. On the first day they explored the island and found out that there was no naval base, only a town called Pax and only a few residents who were hostile to pirates. It was a very peaceful island and visitors rarely came by.
On the second day they all went shopping because the city had a beautiful shopping street despite the rare visitors.
Tashigi went shopping with Nami, Robin looked around for books, Sunji stocked up on supplies, Chopper saw he wanted to stock up on his medication, Usopp needs new wood and material for his projectiles and his other handicrafts, Zorro was guarding the ship and Luffy wanted the local fare testing.So they all spent a peaceful day in the city and in the evening they all came on board with their purchases. Tashigi was happy to finally have clean clothes again.
The next day everyone wanted to take a day off and go about their own business. They had already noticed that the month here on the island would be a month of vacation, at least for everyone except Tashigi, Zorro and Chopper. Because Zorro had asked her in the morning if he should train Tashigi and she had agreed. Since then they practiced practically the whole day while the others had their fun, except for Chopper who treated the small and sometimes larger injuries of the two swordsmen and he really had a lot to do with that.
Only after a week had Tashigi even managed to scratch him, even though he only fought with a sword, but Zorro said she was doing well.

One evening they were both sitting on the deck of the Flying Lamb after a hard day of training.The others were still somewhere on the island. They both had bandages, plasters and other scratches on various parts of their bodies.
"Why have you been so nice to me lately?" she asked carefully.
"Because Kuina made me realize that I can't just live in the past." He replied, but his tone of voice made Tashigi feel that he didn't want to talk about it.
"How was she like? Please don't be mad, I don't want to annoy you, but she was my sister and I just want to know more about her.
Zorro took a deep breath and after a little pause he started to tell her about Kuina. When he had finished speaking, she understood his previously so averse attitude towards her.
"You talked to Robin about a new goal a few weeks ago, what's your new goal?"
Well so far my goal has been to escape the swords of the highest classes from the pirates, but I have found that these swords should be snatched from those who do not know how to handle them.And that's my new goal! "She told him.
"And you think you can handle a sword?" he asked challengingly.
“You experienced that firsthand.” She snapped back and pointed to one of his bandages.
"I didn't mean that. Fighting with a sword can teach anyone, what I mean is that you have to trust a sword and empathize with your spirit." he said soothingly.

The first three attacks were easy to parry, but on the fourth and fifth they already ran out of strength. She was barely able to fend off the sixth, but the seventh would have hit if Zorro hadn't braked his sword at the last moment."Enough for today. You were really good to start with," he said and pocketed his sword.
She took off the blindfold and sat on the floor.
"Why did I go limp so quickly? I felt where the last blow was coming from, but I was too weak to parry it. Why?" she asked.
"Fighting this way weakens the body much faster than fighting normally, so it is important to exercise a lot and keep your body fit.
"I see. What kind of character do your swords have?" she asked.
"The Kitetzu is a very aggressive sword, it is not easy to control and it screams for the blood of its opponents. The Yubashili is very light and yet strong. At five in the morning the others came back from a party and saw Zorro and Tashigi leaning against each other sitting on the deck and sleeping. They tried to suppress a giggle. Luffy brought the drunken Nami into the girls 'room and Sunji carried Chopper and Usopp into the boys' room.Robin was the only one who was still halfway sober. She gin briefly inside the ship and brought Zorro and Tashigi a blanket which she spread over the two.
