Just a normal day in Seattle.
The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the city is calm and peaceful - almost perfect!
It's just a little different at Seattle Grace Hospital. Pure hectic!
Suddenly I was paged by Dr. Bailey. I asked at the information desk what happened.
A bomb exploded on the freeway leading out of Seattle. Probably an assassination attempt. "Meredith are you coming?", Izzie called, ran towards me, grabbed my arm and we got into an ambulance where Alex, Christina and George were waiting for us. They told me that we were going to the scene of the accident and what happened there.
When we arrived, you saw blood everywhere, exhausted doctors trying to save a life or corpses.
The sight was more than terrible. There were children and even babies among the corpses. Not only did I get a little dizzy at the sight. Izzie was about to cry, but Dr. Bailey called us and Izzie quickly recovered.We were assigned to different surgeons and doctors. As always, I was assigned to Derek. Dr. Bailey still where he was and I started walking. Before I got to him, I got a queasy feeling. When he got there, Derek saw me with a look that I will never forget.
He held my mother in his arms - dead!
