This was surrounded by a thin forest in the shape of a crescent moon.Far in the south-east one recognized a huge single mountain on which a large black castle was enthroned. The wolves headed for a hill that had an opening into the interior of the hill on the north side.
Three of the wolves went into the cave first, the other two entered the cave behind Lina and Trino. The wolves led them through a flat of caves and tunnels until they finally arrived in a large cave dug into the stone. The first of her companions went to an old, frail-looking wolf, and whispered something to him. The old wolf got up with difficulty, his fur was tinged gray and white with the old one. Slowly and unsteadily he came towards her.
