A new era
-Believe in your dreams because they give you hope-
The cold and the snow had cleared, the herds of deer had returned, most of the birds had returned from their journey south and every one of the wolves felt it, spring had returned. But not only the forest had changed, Trino especially felt it: Lina had changed. Since returning from the patrol without a draw, she had acted differently than usual. She had taken care of the sick wolves and the young wolves. She had hunted with the young wolves, giving the lower ranks their share of the hunted animal on particularly bad days. She no longer cared about the people in the forest, as long as they didn't get too close to her cave, she didn't care at all, all her attention was focused on the pack. Despite their best efforts, five wolves did not survive the winter. But Lina was now even more committed to the rest of the pack.Especially during the annual moon hunt, Lina showed herself from her best side. All the wolves in her pack liked the new Lina, she had changed completely, only in some cases did she stick to her old ideals. But that didn't bother anyone, for her Lina had only now become a real alpha wolf, and that's how they treated everyone.
Lina lay in front of the entrance to her cave under the big tree and watched the younger wolves play. “Lina.” Mosko stepped in front of her, panting. "We have already spotted a new pack. It is the fifth this week and they are shrinking our territory more and more." Lina slowly got up. "We have to do something, otherwise we will soon run out of territory," continued Mosko. Lina nodded, "Yes, you are right Mosko. We have to do something. The only question is where do all these packs suddenly come from?" "From the east, I assume. They probably came over the Roên." logical, we should better guard our territorial boundaries."Mosko nodded." Good. Mosko you go to the others and tell them that from now on we will patrol our borders. You and Nacho are the first patrol, tomorrow it's Narsk and Monak's turn. "Mosko nodded again, as a sign that he had understood. Then he set off to convey the message to the rest of the pack. Lina meanwhile went to Trino.
Trino sat on the big hill and looked out over the forest. Lina sat down next to him and looked around in silence for a while. Then Trino said, "Something is wrong. The packs have more territory and more game in the east than we do here. Why do they come?" "I don't know," confessed Lina, "but it looks like we won't have our own territory soon more. "" We should drive them out, just like we did with the people. "" War doesn't bring Trino. We only get more enemies through it. No, we have to find a pack to join us ... "" That will not be easy. Our reputation is not the best, "objected Trino."... or", Lina continued, "we have to join a pack." "You are not serious!" "Yes." Lina looked sadly at the floor. “That's the only way for us if no other pack wants to join us.” Trino shook his head, Lina had become a better alpha wolf, but she had lost her toughness and had a conscience, and that was it not exactly beneficial for an alpha wolf with its problems.
Trino shook his head again and got up, "I'm going back to the big tree." Lina nodded, "Well, I'll be right after you." Trino went, but stopped again and turned around. Lina looked dreamily at the sky. Trino just shook his head again. They would never be able to keep their territory if Lina continued like this. Then he went on into the forest.
Lina and Trino were on patrol. It was unusually hot that day, a sign that it would soon be summer again. Trino liked the summer it was a nice time of year, it wasn't too cool at night and it was easy to get prey. But these days Lina seemed even less concentrated than usual, she often dreamed to herself, and the problems of the pack seemed to slip more and more out of sight.
Trino wanted to use the patrol to talk to Lina, but she didn't even listen to him and finally he gave up, so they went on in silence.
The leaves of the trees made a rustling that made Trino shudder, but Lina didn't seem to mind, she walked on undeterred. "Lina ...!" Trino paused, actually he had wanted to ask her something, but Lina had stopped abruptly. Trino just looked at her confused, but then he felt it too. Something was wrong.
They had reached the middle of a meadow at the edge of the forest, the wind played with the leaves of the trees, the grass arched up and seemed to want to drive them back into the forest.
Something cracked in the bushes on the other side of the meadow.
"What are you doing here?" Lina asked coldly. Trino shuddered he hadn't heard her tone like that for a long time."We want to talk," came back from the bushes, then five black wolves emerged from the bushes.
"This is our terrain, get out!" Lina did not look at her while she spoke, she looked aimlessly over the meadow.
"We want to talk to your alpha wolf."
"He's standing in front of you," Lina said with a kind of smile, now she was looking directly at the five wolves.
"YOU ?!" asked one, and had to suppress a laugh.
"Do you have a problem with that?" Lina asked, baring her teeth.
The wind ruffled their fur and the leaves produced a strange rustling, which made everything seem so idyllic.
"Well, come with me," one of the five growled, he didn't seem particularly happy that a she-wolf was in command of one of the strongest packs in the whole country.
Lina and Trino followed the five black wolves, across some meadows and through a small wooded area, finally they came to a large meadow. This was surrounded by a thin forest in the shape of a crescent moon.Far in the south-east one recognized a huge single mountain on which a large black castle was enthroned. The wolves headed for a hill that had an opening into the interior of the hill on the north side.
Three of the wolves went into the cave first, the other two entered the cave behind Lina and Trino. The wolves led them through a flat of caves and tunnels until they finally arrived in a large cave dug into the stone. The first of her companions went to an old, frail-looking wolf, and whispered something to him. The old wolf got up with difficulty, his fur was tinged gray and white with the old one. Slowly and unsteadily he came towards her.
"So you are Lina? The Lina?" He asked in his old and deep voice.
"Yes," Lina replied curtly.
The old wolf nodded approvingly. "Lysko, would you please take care of our guests?" Your companion just nodded silently.
He walked past Lina and Trino and said, "Follow me."Trino and Lina turned away from the old wolf and followed Lysko back into the cave labyrinth.
"Do you think that was a good idea?" A wolf asked the old one when Lina and Trino had disappeared.
"That is still to be found out ... that is yet to be found out."
So I think the first part has been shot at, the rest (from: You were in the middle of a meadow at the edge of the forest, ...) I think it's actually very successful (XD that sounds very strange)
from now on it will be a bit more complicated so I thought (so that you don't get so confused) that I should do something like a little dictionary
so:
Part 1
the year
Moons: a moon stands for a past day (originally a moon was times a month)
Lunar turn: end of the month (every 26 days, with new moon)
Turn of the year: end of the year always on the shortest day of the year (23 December)
Annual moon: First full moon after the swallows return
Last autumn moon: joy festival (kap2) & end of the hunting season; as soon as the birds come from the north and the deer make their way to the east(I hope there is a little more clarity now ^^)
