Chapter: The decision

Chapter 3: The decision

Lefia clasped her head, her face contorted with pain. The throbbing pain was so strong that the girl could barely stand on her feet and desperately tried to hold on to something.
That turned out to be difficult, however, because the wall was relatively smooth and it was difficult to hold on to it.
"Ohh ...", the black-haired woman groaned before she lost her grip and sank to her knees. Everything spun around her and she could only see stars and points of light dancing in front of her eyes.
Marik, who was still standing in the doorway, had completely forgotten Lefia, but noticed him again when he leaned down to her.
"Are you okay?" He asked the girl crouching on the floor and you could hear concern in his voice.
Lefia looked at him as if she was seeing him for the first time, but the look in her eyes disappeared as quickly as it had come and she shook her head. However, this caused another wave of pain to rush through her head and Lefia convulsively closed her eyes.Marik looked at her worried and didn't know what to do. He didn't want to make her even more sorry by doing anything wrong. The white-haired man thought feverishly what to do next.
"Can you stand up? "; so he asked, holding out a hand to her. Lefia looked at his hand but made no effort to take it. Every time she touched him a torrent of pain went through her.
Fear was reflected in her black eyes and she still looked spellbound at the outstretched hand in front of her. Standing up alone was not possible, so she probably had no choice but to trust that nothing would happen this time.
Marik just looked at the black-haired girl, waiting. He didn't want to urge her to do anything, so he just waited.
After a few minutes in which Lefia had continued to stare at the hand, she took it so suddenly that Marik winced barely noticeably. She waited, but nothing happened, absolutely nothing. No pain.
Lefia had, without noticing it, closed her eyes waiting. Now she opened it again and looked into Marik's smiling face. Lefia returned the smile and let him carefully pull her to her feet. The dizziness came over her again, but quickly evaporated.
When she was sure that she could stand safely on her own two feet again, she let go of Marik's hand and turned it to face him.
"Thank you for helping me, it's okay.", She thanked her and an honest smile played on her lips.
"No problem, but would you tell me your name?"
A slight blush lay on Lefia's cheeks and she looked at the floor in shame. She actually forgot to introduce herself. But actually she had no way of doing this.
"Shino, Lefia Shino", (Bond, James Bond..xD ... sorry, that had to be) the black-haired woman breathed barely audibly and looked again into the face of the young man, who was still smiling warmly at her."Glad to have met you Lefia. I just wanted to say hello to my new neighbors." Marik held out her hand again and Lefia shook it silently. Then Marik said goodbye and the girl quietly closed the door behind him. She went to her room and lay down on her bed. The headache hadn't gotten any better, but she didn't want to worry him unnecessarily.
Who was this man and why did she feel that she knew him from somewhere? Why did her heart always feel so warm when she thought of him? A man she didn't even know for a day, a stranger?
Questions after questions, but where were the answers?
Suddenly the phone rang and Lefia sat up with a jerk. Not a good idea as it turned out, as she went black and fell back into her pillow.
Breathing evenly, she tried to calm down before trying to get up again. This time, however, more slowly.
Lefia grabbed the phone, which kept ringing, and put it to her ear."Yes, Shino."
"Lefia, you don't even know what great happened.", She was immediately greeted by the cheerful voice of her friend.
"Maya..."
"So: I was just about to clean the classroom, a great guy came in and just invited me to his party on Friday. He was soooo ~ cute, you don't think so. And I just said yes. And now I wanted to ask you if you would go with me? If I go there alone I feel so stupid again ... ", Maya explains to her friend and waited eagerly for her answer.
Lefia sighed. The blonde knew very well that she didn't like parties, so why was she still asking?
"Maya, you know very well that I don't ma -...."
"Oh come on .... Biiiiiitteeeee ~ ..."; She pleaded on the other line and put on her dog's eye that Lefia could feel.
She hated it when Maya pulled the begging number. The blonde knew exactly that she couldn't refuse anything ... Which was also the case now."Okay ... but I won't stay long, did you hear me." That could still be something. The delighted squeaking of her friend only confirmed her suspicion that this conversation could get longer. Besides, she probably had no choice but to listen and wait ...

At the same time, a young man unlocked the door to his apartment and quietly let it close again.
He had stood in front of his neighbor's door for a while and looked out the window at the night sky. Now he too went to his bedroom and sat on the bed. There was nothing to be seen of his previous happy and nice expression. His expression was serious and there was pain in his eyes. Read suffering and despair.
He hadn't thought that meeting her would throw him off track like that. Marik had previously had to take all of his physical controls together in order not to cry out.He knew he was to blame for her pain, but she wasn't. He knew more about her than she did, but she didn't seem to know him. At this insight he hung his shoulders in resignation and hid his face sadly in his hands. Now that he had found her, the girl didn't seem to know him ...
How so? Why didn't she know? It was all just not fair ...
For a while he just sat motionless on the edge of his bed and thought ...
But then he raised his head and looked determinedly out the window into the starry night.
He had made up his mind ... he would do anything to make her recognize him.
Just everything....
