The young Inu youkai scurried silently across the floor. She ran to bring little Hanyou and his mother to a safe environment, because her promise tied her to it, although she probably would have done it too. The young Hanyou and his mother fell asleep on the back of the youkai. The cold wind passed them, but they warmed the coats of fire rat hair.
Kimiko walked for a while until she arrived at a hut that didn't look like a hut at all, but from her point of view it was a kind of hut. The youkai quickly opened the door of the house. Nobody was there, but this was not to be expected, because the young youkai had built the house herself for such occasions.
'But we can't stay here long.Sesshoumaru will be looking for us soon and he will find this place quickly, but is it really good to put them in a human castle? 'Kimiko mused as she entered the house. She glanced over her shoulder and saw the two people still asleep. The youkai sighed and thought. If she took them to a human village, the people there would despise Izayoi and treat InuYasha like dirt. Could she really risk that? But if they were there, it would not be so easy for Sesshoumaru or other youkai to track down Izayoi and her son. It would be best if she asked Izayoi directly about it. Lost in thought, she climbed the stairs to a room in which hardly anyone had been, namely Kimiko's room. She almost never slept and was almost never in the room, but it was the room that was best for a child.
She had some toys there from when she was little and there were hardly any danger zones in the room. There was a large bed in the room, which was very comfortable, because the pillows that were there were very fluffy and so was the duvet. Even if Kimiko didn't know why, she had a cradle in the room, which was ideal for little Hanyou. There were still a few chests of drawers in it and a few pictures were hanging, but there was nothing else in the large room except a carpet.
The youkai went over to the bed, put Izayoi in it and covered it. Kimiko had previously taken little Hanyou out of his mother's arms and now wanted to put him in the cradle. But before she did that, she took a closer look at InuYasha. He really looked like his father, but there were traits that came from Izayoi. The youkai smiled and was lost in thought for a moment. At first she didn't notice that the baby had woken up in her arms and was now looking at her curiously. A strand of youkai's hair had fallen forward over her shoulder, which the little Hanyou now happily grabbed.Kimiko felt the slight pull on her hair and looked down. The boy in her arms was enjoying herself with her lock of hair, which the youkai smiled at.
Carefully she released InuYasha's grip from her strand and held the little one right in front of her face. They were face to face now. Kimiko put on a nice smile and the Hanyou laughed. He liked this woman because she was very nice. Trying not to hurt him, the youkai carefully placed the hanyou in the cradle and covered it. The hanyou seemed to be looking at her, but he began to whine. He needed something to keep him busy, so Kimiko got him a baby toy. InuYasha happily accepted it and played happily.

Izayoi, lying in bed, woke up just as the young youkai gave her child the toy. She was still suspicious of the young youkai, because youkai could be very insidious, although Izayoi didn't feel as if she wanted to harm them with this one.But at least feelings could be deceiving.
Kimiko noticed after a while that Izayoi had woken up and wanted to say something to the young mother when InuYasha started crying. He was hungry, the young youkai could hear that by screaming. Izayoi quickly got out of bed to check on her son. But when she got to him, she couldn't see any injuries or anything like that, which made her easier. She thought the youkai had done something to her son, but the former princess wondered what her son had. Did he go to bed or was he hungry now?
Kimiko took the opportunity and said to Izayoi: "The little one is hungry. I will leave you alone, Izayoi-san." With that, the youkai ran out of the room so that Izayoi could quietly breastfeed her son and to cook something for Izayoi. Yes, the young youkai knew about cooking and eating people.
Izayoi looked puzzled after the Youkai Princess, but then she nursed her son. This suckled happily on his mother's breast. The former princess was a little amazed at the little man's suction power. After a while, Izayoi could smell the smell of food and her mouth watered.
It smelled of delicious meat, which in this era was only served to lords. Where did this youkai get these delicacies from? The youkai's kimono was also very elegant. Should she be a high-ranking youkai?
Izayoi was lost in thought when Kimiko's voice made her startle.
"Izayoi-san? The food is ready! Would you come down?", One could hear the voice of the Youkai princess. Izayoi called out to her that she would come as soon as InuYasha finished eating.
After a short time Inuyasha was fed up and fell asleep. Izayoi put the baby in the cradle next to the bed and then went downstairs to dine. When the former princess got downstairs, her mouth really watered. That was a real gourmet meal. She looked at the youkai, who smiled gently at her and motioned for her to sit on the chair at the side of the table. After a short period of time, Izayoi sat down and ate with relish from the delicacies. But the human princess still had one more question on the tongue.
"Kimiko-sama? Please don't hold it against me, but where did you get these delicacies from? Even the highest human princes and lords don't have these delicacies. So where did you get them from?", Izayoi asked with a slight discomfort. Would the youkai get mad and punish them now? The young youkai princess sighed briefly and then smiled at the woman.
"You can already ask, Izayoi-san. It doesn't matter. You must know that youkai pursue a very high level of luxury in life. This is how I get the rarest dishes that are here. I usually eat from them only for big occasions, but I thought that you deserve a nice meal. After dinner I would like to talk to you about something, "said Kimiko in a friendly manner.Izayoi nodded and continued to eat. Kimiko continued to eat herself and not a word was uttered during the meal.

When the two women had finished eating, Kimiko went into a living room with the former princess and sat down with her on one of the sofas. The living room was kept simple. There were two cupboards, a sofa and several armchairs as well as a small table. There were a few paintings on the wall that were well cared for.
Izayoi looked curiously at the youkai. What did she want from her?
"Izayoi-san? I would like to discuss with you how we will proceed. We cannot stay here long, because ...", Kimiko took a short breath and continued, "... the other son of Lord Inu Taishou, Sesshoumaru, wants you and eliminate InuYasha. He wants revenge for the Lord's death. Since he has a good nose like me, he will find us quickly, I'm afraid. So I ask you if you want to go to a human village or a castle. I could Protect yourself and the little one better. However ... ".The youkai didn't finish her sentence. But she didn't have to, because Izayoi knew exactly what the youkai meant.
InuYasha would be an outsider like herself, for after all she had given birth to a hanyou. Hanyous had been classified as scum in society and as totally inferior. They had no status and were almost exclusively liked and loved by their parents. The life that awaited a hanyou would never look rosy.
The former human princess swallowed hard, trying to hold back tears. She had already known all of this, but once you really realized it, it was a big shock. After all, the young mother had hoped that she could raise the child with Inu Taishou, but unfortunately he had now passed away.
What should she do? She really didn't know. Why did this have to happen to her? But why? Izayoi was desperate. The young woman did not see her son as scum or as a dungbirth, as some hanyous also called it.They only had one choice. This was to go into a human castle. But could she really do that? Could she expose InuYasha to this pain? Unfortunately, she had no choice. The young woman gathered her last courage and answered the youkai in a confident tone.
"I think it's best to move into a human castle. Even though I'm aware of what that can mean."
Kimiko nodded. She had already suspected something like that. The youkai just hoped a lock would hold the two. But her main concern was whether Izayoi and her son would be treated properly. She didn't have much hope for it.
"But do you promise me that you will protect me and my son?" Asked the young mother, a little more uncertain. Kimiko smiled at her interlocutor and promised her that. After all, she had already made this promise to Inu Taishou and every youkai and every youkai with a spark of honor kept such a promise.Suddenly one heard loud crying from one of the rooms. Apparently little Hanyou had woken up and was asking for something. Izayoi raced upstairs and took care of her son. Kimiko sat lost in thought and she should be until morning.

The next morning they all had breakfast and then began to set out on their way to a painful future. As the night before, the youkai carried the mother and boy on her back and ran across the landscape. They crossed several forests and clearings. They avoided the human villages like the plague, because they didn't need any further stress.
Around noon they took a break, which the little one used to get the food from his mother. The women also ate leisurely under a large tree in a forest. In the afternoon they reached the
