A strange meeting
The full moon had not yet risen completely when Katja packed her bag and angrily left the apartment. Once again she had had a bad argument with her mother. Now she just wanted to go to her friend and cry at her.
It was a cold Saturday evening in February. Katja wrapped her arms around herself, shivering, when the biting cold welcomed her. Katja had a strange feeling in her stomach when she looked down the deserted, dark street. Maybe it had been a mistake after all, she thought, to go out alone so late. But her own pride forbade her to turn back. She would show her mother. Should she melt with worry. With her head held high, Katja made the long way to her friend. Their steps echoed loudly between the houses. Katja shivered, it was just ten minutes past midnight, but none of the houses had lights on anymore. That's just how it is when you live in the country, she thought, but she quickened her pace anyway. Katja had been on the move for quite a while and the full moon was now directly over her when she suddenly heard steps behind her. She whirled around, the hair on the back of her neck standing up, adrenaline rushing through her veins, but behind her was only the empty street. Katja couldn't believe it, she had definitely heard it!
Her body didn't want to calm down either, her heart was racing wildly, she could clearly feel that she was in danger. Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement. That was enough for Katja, whirled around again and started to run as fast as she could. Just one more block, she kept thinking, then you'll be safe. But when she turned the corner a furry something flew to her head.
Katja was rudely on the floor out of sheer hectic pace, but she didn't stay there for long. She got up and spun around to this weird thing that was lying on the floor, as the fur ball moved, she took a big step backwards. Now they looked at two wide, googly eyes.
She had calmed down a bit but still had the feeling that something was still here. So she left the little bat on the ground and ran on, but not quite as fast as before.
Then it finally came into view, her friend's house. Katja was so relieved that she forgot all caution and walked towards the house.
Shortly before the stairs, however, she heard a strange growl from the next side street. In fear she turned in the direction where she had heard the eerie sound, nothing.
Was that just what she had imagined? No, this could not be !
And once again she drove her curiosity even though she didn't really want to find out, she thought to herself. She continued to look in the direction, then she felt that her foot was moving as if by itself in the direction of the side street, she ordered him to turn back to the friend's house, but he didn't obey her, instead the other foot also turned. Now she stood there without knowing why her body no longer obeyed her. And it came again, the panic, something came from the side street, no someone.
Katja stared at the veiled person in fear because she still had no control over her body. She came closer. Katja also took a step towards the person without wanting to.
When the front door suddenly opened and brought light into the darkness, the strange figure was gone.
Now Katja felt that she could move again but when she dared to take a step, her eyes went black and the only thing she still noticed was her friend who was screaming her name.
When Katja woke up the next morning she thought her head was about to burst. Until she noticed that Berta, her friend's mother, was sitting next to her. Katja jumped up, which was not good for her head and she felt dizzy again. With a worried look, Berta put a cool cloth on her forehead.
