It's been a long time. Very long. and hardly anything has changed here. The Konoha-gakure city gate still looked the same as it used to. I think it's even guarded by the same Anbu.

Yes, something had changed, well actually I had changed. But I also didn't really expect that they would receive me with open arms. However, the look with which they were looking at me didn't really calm me down. I took the last few steps towards the gate and stopped in front of the two Anbu. It was really the same as before ...

"Uchiha Sasuke," said one of them.
Probably that derogatory look was supposed to make me just leave.

"What do you want here?"

He could have saved himself the tone, as if I didn't know that I'm not wanted here.

"I have to go to the Hokage"

"And why?

"Because Orochimaru will attack the village in two days to wipe out everything here."

I didn't really want to tell them that much, but they wouldn't believe me anyway.

While the two looked at each other puzzled, I just walked past them and made my way. They shouted something after me, but I couldn't understand it, which was probably due to the fact that I wasn't listening to them. One of the two ran after me.

He walked next to me in silence when he caught up with me.

Only now did it occur to me that I was quite lucky. It was already dark and in the middle of the night. None, except the Anbu, were still outside. It was probably better that way. I don't really want to know how normal villagers would react to me.

We were almost there, but something else caught my attention: the rock monuments of the Hokage.

I didn't understand why I was interested. But I wondered if the picture of Tsunade was already there then.

"Sasuke, this way!", The Anbu shouted and tore me out of my completely superfluous thoughts.He entered the building and disappeared into a fairly brightly lit corridor.

I ran after him. Now I was actually quite happy that he was here. I wouldn't have found my way to the Hokage's office so easily. There were just too many corridors and way too many doors here. Actually, I shouldn't mind something like that ...

I didn't know why, but somehow I couldn't let go of the feeling that the Anbu was quite nervous. He didn't feel good about himself. Was it because a nuke-nin was walking behind him? Didn't he really think I'd do something to him now?

I hadn't done much good lately, I knew that. But I didn't like the idea that everyone here was scared of me and thought I was insidious, but that was probably the price I paid for betraying my friends and going to this queue.

After a while the Anbu stopped in front of one of the doors. I didn't know why, well actually I already knew the reason, but it was abnormal for me. Otherwise my body would not respond to my fear, and now my hands were shaking, how pitifully.

"Yes ?!" came from the room. The Anbu must have knocked. It was clearly Tsunade's voice, it still sounded like it used to: irritated and bored.

The Anbu said I should wait a moment, he himself entered the room and closed the door behind him.

I couldn't make out much of what she was saying, but apparently someone was still in the room. As long as it wasn't Sakura, Naruto or ... wait a minute, Tsunade hadn't really said[i]Kakakshi, did he? Why did Kakashi have to be there? It was better than Naruto or Sakura, but that only made things worse.

The door was opened again and the Anbu pulled me out of my thoughts for the second time. I didn't imagine it to be easy, but I didn't think it would be so difficult for me.

"Come in", the Anbu agreed and held the door open.I accepted his invitation.

I walked slowly across the room and stopped briefly in front of the Hokage's desk.

Even when I felt Kakashi's gaze, I tried to focus on Tsunade. When she was sitting there with her mouth open, I didn't even want to know what Kakashi looked like.

"Sasuke ..." I was surprised that Kakashi spoke first.

"What are you doing here?", The Hokage had found her voice again.

"Actually, I'm here because Orochimaru sent me."

"and improper?", Kakashi seemed to like the whole situation even less than I did.

"I am here to warn you."

"To warn?!"

I just nodded. For some reason I didn't like her look.

Could you explain that a little more precisely? "

I had to admit I was completely baffled. How could she get back to her old pitch so quickly?

"Orochimaru sent me off three days ago. I was supposed to be slightly injured on the way and pretend to flee to warn you that he was coming in seven days to attack the village.

But he will come in two days while everything is being prepared here.

"And why should he do that? He has you now.", Kakashi didn't trust me.

"He wants to destroy my ties to Konoha because he's afraid I might run back."

"Does he have to be afraid?"

I wasn't sure, but Kakashi sounded ... well hopeful.

They said nothing about it, nothing at all. I didn't like the silence. Not at all.

It was my business what happened to me and who I wanted to protect. He couldn't care less.

I turned and went to the door. Well I tried. Why now? Why did everything have to turn around now of all times?

It looked like Kakashi hadn't missed my little problem either. He suddenly stood next to me and tried to give me some support.

"Maybe you should sit down a bit first."

Or maybe I should just give up. I didn't have forever damn it.

He took me to a chair and I reluctantly sat down.

"When was the last time you ate something?"

"I don't know, but that's now e-"

"and drank?"

"I don't know, but -"

"Did you sleep?"

I just looked at him, he didn't really think I would remember something like that.

"You don't know ?!" he asked incredulously.

"No."

"When did you go?"

"No idea. When Orochimaru sent me out, he said it would be three days without breaks and if I hurry up."

"You ran for three days without a break, food and water?""Yes and?"

I'm used to something like that. Orochimaru's training is no different.

"Sasuke please tell me what's going on, if I don't give Tsunade some information right away, she won't believe you."

"Because I've given up on everything else. I think Itachi will live a long time-"

I looked at the door again and wanted to hit my head against it. Couldn't that idiot even stick to the plan ?!

"Suigetsu, what are you doing here?"

"Talk to you."

"I said, we'll meet outside of the village."

"You should be there an hour ago, though. I made myself foolish, don't be so upset.

"How often should I tell you that it was all for nothing if even a little thing goes wrong? So don't tell me not to get upset!"

He was right, I knew that, but I couldn't stay calm, there was too much at stake for that. Suddenly I felt a slight pressure and winced briefly. I was just not used to something like that anymore, I didn't expect it either.

I haven't been here in ages, betrayed them, hurt them, and now? Now Kakashi actually put a hand on my shoulder and tried to calm me down.

"You are Houzuki Suigetsu, aren't you?"

Actually, I was expecting him ... well ... I don't know, at least not that he would be so calm.

Suigetsu just nodded.

"So this is Kakashi, then?"I sighed briefly. Why did he always have to be so direct?

"Yes and now come on, we have to go!"

I opened the door.

"What are you going to do now?"

"Visit Sakura"

He looked at the floor for a moment.

"Don't expect too much, Sasuke."

If he meant what I thought, it was all over. She had a thousand reasons for it, but she couldn't hate me.

I couldn't protect her if she wouldn't let her.

I just nodded, then gave Suigetsu a quick look and we left.
