Fanfic: Die Schule der Waisen

Subtitle: Die Geschichte des Windes

Chapter: prolog

"Take a look at that! The little one is about to start crying!" Shouted one boy. He looked me straight in the eye and tried to kick me, but I dodged.
It was slow, really slow. Even though he was older and stronger than me. Or maybe because of that. In any case, he was lame. I was able to avoid each of his kicks without a problem. Would he catch up with me if I started running now? It is worth a try.
I ran towards him, skilfully past him and continued along the dirt road to the village.
I knew the villagers didn't care for orphans, but maybe then these stupid guys would finally leave me alone. At least I thought so.
That was a big mistake.
In the little village, only more boys came out when they saw the spectacle that was going on.
I didn't have a chance, that was certain, but I didn't want to give up. I fought like it was for my life. In fact, it was about my life.
They were amazed at my speed, could hardly believe that the four of them still couldn't land a hit.
Only when a group of ten or fifteen people had come together did they attack me again.
I wondered what I had actually done to them. Why did they attack me for no reason?
The closer they got, the greater my fear grew.
The adults did not see any intervening. Maybe they also wanted me to go crazy. Maybe it suited them just fine that way. In their eyes all orphans were angry. All thieves.
I knew if I survived I would show them what I could really do if I wanted to. At that time, however, I didn't know what would really happen.
I was shaking but wouldn't give in. Do not Cry. Do not Cry.
These guys just couldn't get me down!
They had me surrounded and cornered, but I just couldn't give up."Take a look at that! The little one is about to start crying!" Shouted one boy. He looked me straight in the eye and tried to kick me, but I dodged.

These guys just couldn't get me down!
They had me surrounded and cornered, but I just couldn't give up.I didn't have a chance to get out of there safely anyway. I didn't care.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. All or nothing!
The wind was blowing through my hair and that was when I knew I could win.
When I opened my eyes again, my body began to move on its own. My first opponent was able to confidently give up his dream of having his own family after a targeted kick and the others were no better off either. Each and every one of them felt what I had to endure all the years.
Suddenly the adults were interested in the matter. A couple of women screamed when they saw their sons lying on the floor and their husbands pulled iron bars out of the house, but I didn't care.
I thought I could finish everything, but again I was wrong.
I would surely have felt this flaw in my own little body if this stranger had not intervened.
A man, not even very tall, stood in front of me and spread his arms. I wanted to pass him, but he held me.
One of the villagers wanted to take advantage of the moment and caught up with the iron bar. But the stranger had brought his opponent to the ground before he could finish his blow.
The cowardly rest of the village crawled into their homes after that number.
I was about to run after some people, but I was still being held. I tried to tear myself away furiously. What was the guy actually imagining?
When I was about to say something, he motioned for me to be silent.
"What's your name?" He asked me.
"I don't have a name!" I snapped at him. Of course I didn't have a name. I didn't have any parents either. Probably the stupid villagers believed that I had hatched from an egg. Some were really unbeatable in stupidity.
"Then I'll give you a name."
The guy was weird, but I liked it."Feng. I call you Feng!"
I didn't understand anything anymore and you could probably tell from the expression on my face, so he explained it to me.
"Feng means wind. Be proud of this name!"
That was me, and after I knew what it meant, I really liked it.
The stranger offered to take me home with him. There I would be able to live in a safe place.
I believed him. I believed everything and it wasn't a mistake.
It's been seven years since then and I've learned from my mistakes. And I'm glad I accepted his offer. Because where I've lived since then, everyone was just like me. Everyone was different. And all something special.
