It was a beautiful and, above all, calm day at sea. The sun was shining down from a wonderful blue sky, which was only obscured by a few snow-white clouds here and there. Seagulls flew through the air in small groups, filling the area with their melodic songs. Every now and then they dived into the water and finally came out with a wriggling fish in their beak.


Also on the deck of the Thousand Sunny, which leisurely over the
Slid low waves, it was quiet and all straw hats went about their usual everyday activities relaxed. Although they had only recently ridden the New World, a more dangerous terrain than the rest of the Grand Line, at the same time as the other 11 rookies, they did not let themselves be disturbed. Luffy had made himself comfortable in his favorite spot, the lion's head, and was lying on his back watching the clouds. Zorro slept leaning against the railing in the meadow, snoring loudly. His three swords lay beside him in the grass. Nami had quartered himself in her cabin and drew nautical maps of the places they had recently visited in order to further complete their collection. Usopp had brought some utensils from his workshop with him on deck in order to sit in the sun and tinker some new tools. Sanji was in the kitchen preparing a few goodies for Nami, Robin and, if necessary, the rest of the crew. Chopper was in the hospital room making new rumble balls as he was running out of supplies. Robin had taken a thick tome from the library and was now reading it while sitting on deck in her folding chair. Only Franky found no real rest in the meantime. He thought hard about which device could be used for level 4.


Each of the straw hat gang was distracted in their own way and therefore did not pay attention to the surrounding area.So none of them noticed how quickly a dark cloud front was brewing right in front of their ship. At most Nami, as a weather expert, could have noticed the impending disaster early on, but unfortunately she was below deck. The rest of the crew only registered the storm when it suddenly became pitch black and all of a sudden a tremendous wind came up, which lashed the sea and made the waves huge, causing the ship to sway a lot. Usopp and Robin immediately stopped what they were doing and looked for something to hold on to. At first Luffy found the rocking amusing and laughed happily, but soon he too was clinging convulsively to one of the prongs of the lion's head. Only Zorro continued to sleep unmoved.


Screaming in panic, Chopper came running on deck. He came just in time to see Luffy get caught in a wave and washed overboard. "OH NO! RUFFY FALLEN OFF BOARD! WAAHAAA!" Shouted the little moose and ran in a zigzag across the meadow. Finally he jumped screeching in Zorro's face, which finally woke him up. Grumbling, he grabbed Chopper, threw it away and stood up with a yawn, but only to be knocked over again when suddenly a violent jolt went through the entire ship.

However, such dangerous storms did not rage everywhere in the sea. Elsewhere, a ship sailed leisurely through the water. It was a large ship with a serpent's head enthroned as a figurehead at the bow. The sides were painted dark green and a black pattern gave the impression of a scaled reptile skin. A black flag fluttered in the wind at the top of the foremast. On it was the skull of a snake, behind which two bones crossed. The same symbol was also found on the black main sail. At first glance you recognized it as a pirate ship.At the rail of this ship stood a man who was reading a newspaper intently. When another, somewhat stocky-looking man approached him cautiously, he looked up. "Take a look at this, Smoney!" Said the man, pointing to an article in the newspaper. "The 11 rookies! Pah! That I don't laugh! I should be standing there as a contender for the title of pirate king and not these 11 joke figures!" "Captain ..." Smoney began to say, but he was interrupted. "I have only been in captivity for three years and these monkeys from the world government have completely forgotten me! But they will still be amazed! I will do something that will boost your memory again!" At this utterance the man put on a mean smile which visibly intimidated Smoney.


"What are you going to do, captain? Do you have a plan?"


"Yes, I have," said the captain and showed Smoney a profile that was printed in the newspaper. "Do you see this one here? Here it is, it has only recently conquered the island of justice and immediately afterwards killed one of the 7 samurai. In addition, one of his crew members is also one of these 11 idiots."


"You don't want to ..." Smoney stuttered, startled, but he was interrupted again.


"But that's exactly what I want! And now keep quiet and tell Cliff and Alonzo, and of course the rest of the crew, they should come on deck immediately! Now stop shaking and get out of here, Smoney!" Smoney hurried as if stung by the tarantula instantly to obey his orders. But the man no longer paid any attention to the member of his gang, but stared out at the sea. His eyes had changed: the previously dark brown eyes had become yellow with black, slit pupils. A small column of smoke rose from his slightly open mouth, twisted into an angry grimace. "Just wait and see, my friend! You won't even see what's happening to you!Before you know it, I'll have taken your ship, your crew and everything else from you! Yeah, just wait and see Monkey D. Luffy! "
