Chapter: Everyday or not ?!
Her vision was blurry. Her eyes, otherwise a brilliant blue, mixed with silvery speckles, looked glassy and cloudy. It was only with difficulty that she could see the first rays of the sun, which were finding their way into her small room.
A low groan escaped Amaya before she slowly began to straighten up. Her body felt heavy, like it did every morning. A slight pain flashed through her, punishing her for the dream she had once again had. A dream that seemed more real than reality itself. Every night she lost herself in this dream and every time she had the feeling that she had experienced what happened in the dream. And the other dreams she had also gave her a headache. It was like calling her, trying to wake her up. They seemed very important and it was like they were true. But Amaya had not yet been able to make sense of the dreams, just a vague feeling that she could not classify.
She picked up the jar that was standing next to her. Water was the only thing that helped ease the headache. She would probably never get used to it. It was also too strange, sometimes she saw clear images in front of her inner eye, sometimes blurred shapes and interwoven colors, fluctuating from clear to indistinct.
The cool liquid ran down her throat, refreshing her mind. Slowly the mist was disappearing from her eyes, as if it had never been there. Her senses awakened, took more and more of her surroundings. So slowly the song of the birds reached her ears.
A moment of complete calm flowed through her, left everything else behind for a short time. A harmony, full of its own beauty, which no one could stand to listen to again, but just as quickly as this moment had come, it also passed and was taken back by the seriousness of life.
Amaya took a deep breath and shook off the last of tiredness before getting up and starting to get ready for the day. There was only work waiting for her.
Amaya was torn about how she stood about her officer position, on the one hand she was proud to have made it to the Kidoshu's 7th officer, on the other hand she didn't really know whether she had deserved this post at all.
Nevertheless, she had to admit that she enjoyed her work, at least when it came to her main field of activity, namely training newcomers. But at the moment there were very, very few and she had to increasingly come to terms with the unit's documents. An important job that was just as strenuous as it was monotonous. Even after 500 years of being a member of Gotei 13, she had not been able to get used to this type of work and she doubted that it would ever be the case. She glanced at the folder in front of her. This should later return to the 13th Company. The file was thick and heavy. So she'd better keep working properly and bring her back later. With a suppressed sigh, she finally opened the document and began editing it.
There was a lot of activity on the streets. Their Shinigami from the most varied of divisions came towards them from all directions. She had even caught a glimpse of a commanding officer. However, she did not know which one, as she could only see a Haori for a short time.
Amaya made her way through the web of paths. She could already see the main building of 13th Company ahead of her. She nodded to the two shinigami standing by the door and stepped inside. There was peace and quiet here, a pleasant atmosphere. The black-haired woman looked around and followed the corridor inside the building. She was looking for someone to hand over the files, after all there was still a whole pile waiting for her.
Ultimately, she stepped up to a man. He looked at the files and handed them back to her. "They have to go to the commandant." She nodded. "Just keep following the corridor" The Shinigami went on. Amaya watched him go for a moment and finally directed her steps towards the commandant's office. The five minutes didn't matter now either.
She knocked on the door and waited. "In"
In front of her at his desk sat the Taicho of the 13th Protection Unit, Jushiro Ukitake. He gave her a friendly smile and motioned for her to come closer. "The reports you requested, Ukitake-taicho" Amaya did as she was told and held the files out to him. He accepted it with thanks and briefly scanned the papers. "Thank you, it saves me a lot of work." He smiled gratefully. "I hope it wasn't too much work," Amaya shook her head. "As usual, Commander" He nodded. "Well, that would be all. Give your commandant a nice greeting when you see him" "I will, Ukitake-taicho, have a nice day" She left the office and closed the door behind her. In her office there was still a pile of files waiting urgently to be processed.
She hadn't closed the door completely when a sharp pain shot through her head. It felt like the world would stand still for a brief moment, but the next moment threatened to bury it under itself, everything collapsed on them. Colors lurched before her eyes. It struck like lightning and as quickly as it happened it was gone. Amaya slowly opened her eyes. She hadn't even realized she'd been pinching them. She felt strange, suddenly so drained and tired. “Are you all right?” The voice of the white-haired commandant finally brought her back to reality. Amaya blinked, pondered. "Everything's fine, I only felt dizzy for a moment." She nodded to him and finally closed the door completely. It took her a moment to collect herself and of herself she directed her steps back to her company. This bizarre event pushed her aside, it had been too short to worry. So a visit to 4th Company was not necessary, but maybe she shouldn't work as much today.
With joy she breathed in the fresh air, calmed down completely and briefly let her thoughts wander. The day was drawing to a close and with it the night was breaking, the night in the zenith of which the full moon stood.
