-Neji-

"Hey guys, wait a minute," Neji called out to the rest of his team.
It was the usual team consisting of Gai-sensei, Lee Tenten, and himself.
Byakugan!
He looked around.
Before that he had the feeling something was wrong and that is exactly what he wanted to check now.
"There is someone 50 m east of us," he said to Gai-seinsei.
He didn't think twice and put on what he called his "gentleman smile" and said with a thumbs up: "Let's take a closer look."
So the group quickly moved to see what was going on.
First they looked from a safe distance on the clearing of the Neji thought he had seen someone there.
So that even if someone was there, he or she wouldn't notice them so quickly.
There was not a movement to be seen there. Not only that. It wasn't anything remotely similar to a human being to be seen.
"Strange ...", Neji muttered and walked closer.
The others followed him.
They were now standing directly in the clearing but there was nothing to be seen.
They crossed the clearing and looked around a few more times, but there was still nothing.
"Neji, use your Byakugan again.", Said Tenten, "Maybe we're just in the wrong clearing."
Neji was sure that this was the right clearing. There weren't too many clearings in the Konoha Forest. He also felt the chakra that had alerted him from 50 m away.
But Neji did as he was told and suddenly saw the chakra of a fifth person.
He followed the trail to a large animal den, the entrance of which was in a large hollow tree.
He entered the hollow tree only to see that the animal den turned out to be much bigger than just the already quite large hollow tree. This animal den was big enough that the whole team had room in it.
They went cautiously, Neji ahead, deeper.
Suddenly Neji heard a growl and a little fox jumped at him and tried to bite him.
Neji successfully fended off the little fox, but the fox and other little foxes that came along continued to growl at him and tried to bite him.
There were about 3 little foxes trying to do this, but the team saw about 10 other foxes in the back, all huddled together with their teeth bared.
Only at second glance did they realize that the foxes had pawed around the body of a girl further back.
"Oh, no! You don't want to eat them, do you?" Asked Tenten, shocked.
"No, I don't think so.", Neji said simply.
"Me neither.", Gai-sensei agreed, "The foxes are very close to her, as if they wanted to warm her. And she's still breathing," he explained to Tenten.
Neji carefully shooed the foxes away and picked up the girl to carry them out.
The foxes followed him.
Obviously they were worried about the girl, Neji thought, because some just stared at the girl and others growled at him.When he finally arrived in the open, he put it carefully on the floor.
Immediately all the foxes were grouped around them again.
"You see, they just wanted to warm them up," said Gai-sensei.
"Excellent Sensei, you saw that straight away." Lee enthused again.
It was a fact. The little foxes trembled a lot even though it was actually quite warm.
"You're right," said Tenten, "but how did she get here?"
"I don't know.", Neji answered truthfully.
Then Gai-seinsei intervened: "Lee, do you have a blanket with you?"
"Yes ...", he said and rummaged around in his backpack, "... here."
Gai took the blanket and wrapped it around the girl.
"Good idea," said Tenten.
Who was this girl? Why was she here in the middle of a huge forest? Why was she only wearing a t-shirt and shorts? Neji wondered.
"So what do we do with her?" He asked.
"Let's take her to Tsunade's village first. She should decide.", Gai said, "So Lee, give me a hand. I'll carry her."
Neji shivered.
If Gai-sensei were to wear her, she would have a concussion before they arrived, if Kakashi was already battered after that experience, Neji thought.
He kept looking at Lee.
That too, it flashed through his mind.
Then he continued to look at Tenten.
She was getting tired too quickly, he realized.
Neji sighed: "Sensei, I'll wear them."
Gai's eyes sparkled: "Are you going to take up your training now, as long as the strength of youth is still by your side?" He asked enthusiastically.
Neji just rolled his eyes.
Carefully he piggybacked the girl and, followed by the rest of his team, began to run back towards Konoha.
