The first fights

The first fights

When they left Wurzelheim, a beautiful landscape opened up to them. Wide meadows with lush grass, young and strong trees stood in the area and right in between there was a small path lined with red bricks. They walked this path for a while until they came to a small sign. Nils leaned down to read the sign.
"Route 101 in front
Rosalstadt straight out "
“Looks like we have to keep walking straight to get to the next town.” Max said and continued down the path.
Nils just grunted and took out the pokeball in which he kept Hydropi.
"What are you doing there?" asked Max when he saw that Nils had brought out the ball.
"I will put a small sticker on each of my balls. This will make it easier for me to recognize them in case they should get lost and I have to find them again." Nils answered and stuck a small, shining star on Hydropi's Pokeball.
"Good idea!" said Max and put a sticker on his pokeball too.
Suddenly a small figure shot out from behind the trees and landed in front of the two coaches.
Max and Nils looked up and saw a small red insect that growled at them.
Max took his Pokedex and held it on the Pokemon.
The device clicked and a metallic voice rang out conveying some information about wobbles.
Max looked at the Beetle Pokemon in amusement, pulled out Geckarbor's Pokeball and released it from the ball so that it could jump into the fight.
Geckarbor threw himself on Waumpel and it took only a few moments until Waumpel sank exhausted to the ground and Max took an empty ball in his hand and threw it on Waumpel.
The pokeball sucked in wobbles and wobbled a little. When he had calmed himself down, Max took it in his hand, tapped the small button in the ball with his index finger that was responsible for the reduction in size. After the ball was reduced in size, it was no longer bigger than a walnut and so Max was able to attach it to his belt.
After this was done, the two boys walked along the path and arrived in Rosalstadt in the evening, where they looked for the Pokecenter and quartered themselves there.
The next day they got up, washed and went into the breakfast room, where a buffet was set up, on which everything was available for a generous breakfast.
Max took a plate and loaded it with scrambled eggs, but Nils didn't take a plate, but a large bowl, which he loaded with Pokemon food and placed on the floor at a table. Then he loaded a small bowl with corn flakes and milk and placed it on the table where the two boys sat down. Their Pokemon, which they had rested the day before with the nurse in charge of this center, came running up and pounced on their food.
Nils smiled and began to take his breakfast.Max, however, lowered his head a little ashamed.
"I should have thought of our Pokemon first, not my breakfast!" said Max ruefully.
Nils nodded and then answered.
"Don't worry about it. I have a dog and in the first few months I acted the same way until my mother gave a thunderstorm and since then I always first make sure that my dog has something to eat and then I come . Applied to our situation, one could compare the dog with the Pokemon. "
Max nodded and scratched Geckarbor and then Wobble on the head.
After Hydropi had finished eating too, it nudged Nils on the shin and stood up. Nils took it on his lap and picked up a napkin and wiped the remaining food clean from Hydropi's mouth.
After breakfast, they left the center and set off. They left the city and wandered west.
The area grew wilder and they had to fight through tall grass. Suddenly a loud voice called.
"Stop! Wait a minute!"
The two boys were frightened and looked around frantically.
A little boy of 11 came out of the tall grass and looked at her belligerently.
"I challenge you!" said the boy, pointing with his forefinger at Nils.
Nils looked at the boy a bit puzzled, but then nodded.
"Are you going to be the referee for us?" asked Nils, dressed in Max.
He nodded and stood up.
"Now the time has come. The challenger ..." Max interrupted himself and asked the boy what his name was.
"My name is Tobias!" answered the boy.
Max started again.
"The challenger Tobias versus Nils. A Pokemon is allowed! Start!" said Max and started the fight.
The young trainer named Tobias picked up a pokeball and released a Fiffyen, a small gray dog pokemon, to fight.
Nils grinned and sent Hydropi into battle.
The Pokemon looked angry and then Fiffyen attacked first. Hydropi dodged Fiffyen's tackle and, on Nils' orders, fired an aqua gun, which missed Fiffyen and hit the ground.
Then Nils got an idea and instructed Hydropi to fire several aqua guns at Fiffyen. Some of the projectiles hit the little dog pokemon, others missed and hit the ground.
"Hah, your Pokemon should practice aiming a little more!" said Tobias and laughed.
Nils grinned because he had achieved what he wanted.
Hydropi had made the ground muddy with his bullets and Fiffyen sank a few centimeters into the mud.
Now the young trainer also realized that his Pokemon was in trouble and that Hydropi struck down Fiffyen with a tackle.
Tobias cursed, got Fiffyen back in his Pokeball and then thanked Nils for the fight. When they had said goodbye to Tobias, Nils and Max continued to beat their way through the tall grass.
They had already been walking for a while when they heard a low wail. They looked around, but could not spot the source of the complaint. So they followed the voice of the plaintiff and found a small Pokemon lying on the ground not far away by a small stream.
The Pokemon looked to the two boys like a little girl who wore a green helmet with little red horns and a little white dress.
They stepped up to the Pokemon and spoke to it.
"What about you?" Max asked the Pokemon.
The Pokemon looked at the two boys with puffy eyes.
It pointed to the river with one of its little arms. When Max and Nils looked there, they saw that a blue berry was stuck in a branch in the river.
Nils realized that the Pokemon had a small injury on its knee and got an ointment from his backpack.
"Treat the wound! I'll get the berry!" said Nils and gave Max the ointment.
Nils put his arm into the river and checked the depth of the river. Since the river wasn't too deep, Nils rolled up his trouser legs and slowly stepped into the river.
In the meantime, Max was treating the wound on the Pokemon and when he was finished, Nils had also fetched the berry from the river and handed it to the Pokemon.
The Pokemon took the berry.
"Let's see who you are!" said Nils, holding his Pokedex over the Pokemon.
The Pokedex reported that the Pokemon was a Trasla.
The Trasla that received the berry had divided the berry into three parts and now handed one part each to Max and the other part to Nils.
"You really want to share it with us?" asked Max in surprise.
Trasla nodded and so both boys took a piece each and put it in their mouths.
The fruit was sweet and tasted a little like a blueberry. After both of them had eaten the berry, they got up and wanted to say goodbye to the Trasla, but it took Nils's hand and held him on the ground.
"What's the matter, little one?" he asked and looked at Trasla questioningly.
Trasla looked deep into his eyes and then tapped his pouch in which Nils kept his empty Pokeballs.
Amazed, Nils took out one of the empty pokeballs and showed it to Trasla. Now the penny dropped with Nils and he asked Trasla, who was wearing:
"Do you want to come with us?"
Trasla nodded, then jumped up and hugged Nils.
He smiled and then pointed again to the pokeball.
"If you want to come with us, you should go into this Pokeball, it will make the journey easier!" explained Nils Trasla and she nodded.
Trasla let go of his neck and tapped the pokeball. Trasla was pulled into the ball, it twitched a few times and then froze.
“Now I have my second Pokemon,” said Nils and got up.
Max nodded and got up too.
"It will be dark soon, we should walk a few more kilometers before we set up camp for the night.
They set off again, but now they orientated themselves on the river, which served as their source of water. They wandered until the sun disappeared behind the trees and bathed them in deep shadows.
They had come to a point where the river split into two smaller rivers. There they made their night camp. Nils unpacked a small two-man tent from his backpack and set it up while Max lit a campfire.
They released their Pokemon from the balls and prepared a bowl of food for them. Then they set up a small kettle over the fire and filled it with water from the river. Nils took two pre-packed bags of rice and curry sauce out of his backpack and put them in the boiling water of the kettle. It took less than 10 minutes for their meal to be ready and they loaded their paper plates with the rice and curry sauce and ate it.
Max watched Nils furtively out of the corner of his eye. His buddy was a book with seven seals to him. Not only was his fellow traveler not very talkative, but also because there were a lot of rumors surrounding him. One of those rumors was, and Max thought it absurd, that Nils was dating a boy, but he wasn't one hundred percent sure. So he asked Nils about something else in order to get his real question.
"Tell me, what do you really think of our class and our class teachers?"
Nils looked up from his rice and put the plate with the rice on his lap.
"This class is a bunch of slobs, idiots and smart people. Our class teacher could well be compared to a woman in black lacquer and leather clothes with a whip and our class teacher as a little shit who always lets our class teacher churn her out. I hate and Despise them. You should come to the elective art course, the students of the other classes are also constantly upset about the students in my class. With those from the art course I can at least have a reasonable conversation. "Said Nils and
