Games World I: Charlie und Pikachu (Remake)

prolog

In the not too distant future, video games will play a more important role in the world. Not only do they serve to entertain people, you can escape from your dreary life and be who you want to be in the virtual world. For this purpose, several servers with virtual worlds were created and managed by a single, huge supercomputer. This computer is located in the Bionic Tower and is checked every day by the employees of the Bionic Society so that everything runs smoothly.
The programmers of the worlds enjoyed a high reputation among the population and not infrequently they became selfish and arrogant because of this. But nobody would have thought that this would escalate at some point.

A man ran across the bridge while the rain lashed his face. He pressed a small package close so it wouldn't get too wet. He was always aware of his pursuers and soon afterwards he heard the tires of a car screeching behind him as he came to a stop.
"Stand still and hand out the documents!"
The man turned around and when it flashed briefly, his grim face lit up. His black eyes stared with hostility at the driver of the car, who was holding a gun in hand.
"These documents belong to the public! What, you have committed ... that disgusts me."
"Oh yeah? I heard the boss smeared you up to keep you shut up. Isn't that a bad thing too?"
"I ... I didn't know what you were doing! I also gave him the money back when I found out!"
The man with the gun just shook his head and laughed scornfully.
Another man got out and smoked a cigarette.
"Even if, Zero, what do you want to do now? Do you want to run away? We have a car so we can just run you over with it if we want. And believe me, I would want to," said the driver.
The man named Zero looked uncertainly down the bridge.
"Oh, come on!", The smoker called out, stepping out the cigarette, "you don't want to jump? That would be your death and even if you should survive it, the documents are gone and are no longer useful."
Zero took a step back and said softly: "If I put the package in my raincoat, it might stay undamaged, it is waterproof. And even if I die, my body will be found and the documents discovered. Then it will be seen bad for you. "
"Shoot the idiot."
That is exactly what the driver did.
The ball bored through Zero's eye, the other stared wide open into the air. He staggered and fell backwards off the bridge.
The driver rushed to the parapet, looked into the sea and asked his colleague: "Damn it, now what?"
His partner remained very calm: "Not bad, Zero was just bluffing, nobody will find him here anyway. And if it does, what the heck.Just one more person who fell victim to a street gang. You won't find the documents, they have softened in the meantime. Let's go and let the boss know. "
They got in the car and drove away. And below, in the sea, Zero's body was floating, no longer conscious, but still alive.
