Case 1 - Part 1

It was day, but the sun wasn't shining, the sky was covered with a gray layer of clouds. A woman flew over the roofs of the deserted city. She could have been an angel, but she lacked the radiance that such creatures normally radiate. Her wings, like her long hair, were pitch black and her dress, which was reminiscent of an ancient Greek tunic, was dark in color. In contrast to her skin, which was almost white. Her gaze wandered over the deserted streets, which seemed bleak without the people. Even the otherwise lush green of the trees in the city park no longer seemed to have any of the other color. Then when the angel reached the center of the city, he straightened himself and spread his wings. It was as if he had suddenly started to shine ...
Suddenly, "Waka Waka" from Shakira rang out and tore me out of my dream. Annoyed, I hit my alarm clock with my free one and turned around. I should be thinking, but I have to admit that I am a real morning grouch and hated to be kicked out of bed at 5 a.m., no matter what it was. But it didn't help, and so I trotted into the bathroom to first splash a load of cold water on my face, which I absolutely needed.
After I finished in the bathroom, I went into my tiny, downright tiny kitchen and grabbed a granola bar. I was late again, probably because I need hours in the bathroom in the morning. Before I took my house keys, I looked again in the mirror. I have to admit that I actually look quite old, which is why it's not difficult to pretend to be older than I actually am, but let's be honest, who would employ a 17-year-old full-time ?! So I was officially 19 and my name was also different. I ran through my hair again and grabbed my bag and then I was practically outside of my apartment.
I just caught the S-Bahn, where I crumbled into a corner and turned on my MP3 player. It's not that I couldn't drive, but applying for a driver's license created too many problems for me. It was while I was sitting there that I had the opportunity to reflect on my dream for the first time. I actually had it every night, but it always seemed to me as if I was experiencing it in a new way, I discovered small details that I had otherwise never noticed. Today, for example, it was noticed that the angel was crying. This scenario seemed so familiar to me, but also so strange.
The time up to my station follows extremely quickly and as soon as I knew it, I was standing in front of the little bistro where I worked. It was pretty much the only one where you could have breakfast from 6 a.m. and therefore always well attended by business people in the mornings.I entered through the back entrance, where my colleague Linda was waiting for me.
"Looks like you're on time today," she chided me with a smile. She was 21 and was in the middle of her studies. Her big dream was to become a doctor and she pursued it purposefully, for which I admire her. "It looks like it," I replied with a smile. When we had changed, the uniform consisted of a black skirt and a white blouse, we went towards the kitchen, from which the loud singing of our cook could already be heard. If there were no guests, she always turned up the radio loudly and sang along, although it must be mentioned that she is not necessarily a great singer. "Tomorrow you two sweeties," she said when we entered the room. Kassy is 30 years old, but she could act like a teenager and she was easy to love for that.
"Matt's already here, isn't it?" Asked Linda. Matt is the boss of the bistro, 37 and the one who flips the open sign, so we couldn't open without him, but he actually always came at least an hour early. Kassy looked at Linda with a meaningful look, "What do you think?" So he was already there, as usual. We went to the small bar and checked the individual tables again when Matt appeared punctually at 6 and unlocked the door. Without saying a word, he disappeared back into his office. He could at least greet us once in the morning, really.
About ten minutes had passed before Linda and I had a lot to do. The rush every morning was nothing new to us, especially since it was mostly regular customers who ate with us so early. The morning passed slowly and turned into the morning.
It was exactly 10:27 am when a small, elderly lady entered the bistro. She is wearing a classy costume and her hair was pinned up. She evidently found it unworthy to have her hair dyed because it was all gray in color.
I went up to her to take her order and it hit me like a blow. My brain stopped and my eyes went black and then I saw it, I saw this person die ...
