Das Tagebuch der Soraya

mystery

I messed it up so badly

"Robin, don't we want to go slowly?", Nami asked rather tired and bored.
She should have known, going to a bookstore with Robin took a minimum of three hours.
"Yes, in a moment," said the black-haired woman casually to Nami, she was too absorbed in all these fascinating stories to be able to tear herself away from them now.
Nami sighed, she also liked books herself and always took her time choosing good books, but Robin overdid it.
She grabbed the circle that was on the old nautical charts that she had looked at earlier and played around with it, bored.
Meanwhile, Robin pulled out the next book and looked at the title.
"Soraya's diary," she read quietly to herself.
She quickly put it back.
The title didn't suggest anything exciting and actually she was looking for something completely different.
Interested, she let her gaze wander over the shelf and had already spotted the next book, a little further up, and pulled it off the shelf.
Again she looked at the title. "The Soraya's diary?" She read a little more confused. Again she put the book back and pulled one out from the far side of the shelf.
Again she looked at the book title with a raised eyebrow:
"Soraya's diary."
All right, thought Robin, and opened the book.
Yellowed pages of paper appeared.
At the edges were ornaments of fine-curved flowers that had been artistically drawn, but otherwise these pages were blank.
Not a single word could be found.
The black-haired woman was about to close the book when it began to glow light blue. She looked at it again in amazement.
Blue waves seemed to be heading straight for them like a torrent.
Thunderous and deadly like a tsunami.
Robin didn't really know what to do, but this water was coming straight at her!
"Nami," she said uncertainly and went to the orange-haired woman.
"Shall we go?" Asked the navigator happily and jumped up in high spirits.
"No, take a look at that".
The archaeologist put the book on the nautical charts.
Nami also looked a little confused into the book.
A real torrent of water seemed to be rushing towards them in the book.
"That looks like rain," said Robin, before the next moment a huge wave of water shot towards them and knocked both of them to the ground.

Nami had to cough, she had got water in her lungs, but otherwise she was fine.
Still panting for air, she looked around and her eyes widened. You were no longer in that bookstore, but in a small town.
"Robin, where are we here?", She directed her word to the black-haired woman who was getting up.
Robin also looked around and had to swallow hard. Large houses stood around them, market stalls where people were busy shopping and carriages with horses drove past them. That was definitely not the city they had laid out on. The city in which they anchored was tropical warm, but here the snow was inches thick.
"I don't know," confessed the black-haired woman. She didn't know what to think of here herself, had this wave brought her here?
"Hmm, this strange book is here too," said Nami and picked up the book from which the wave came earlier.
Robin raised his hand and brushed the spine of the book, "but unlike us, it's dry."
Nami nodded, they were really wet to the bone and slowly the cold came to them. If they didn't want to catch a cold, they had to put on dry clothes quickly.
"Nami, did you notice that everyone is staring at us."
The orange-haired woman raised her head and looked into faces that were partly horrified, partly curious and partly angry.
Among the onlookers were soldiers with lances, women with children and clergy.
But they all had one thing in common:
They wore strange clothes that looked old and colorless, as if they came from another time.
Robin took the book from Nami and hugged it tightly. You couldn't lose the book, maybe it was the only way to get back.
But first, she should be more concerned about not going to jail here, or worse, when witches ended up at the stake on trial.
Because judging by the clothes of the people, they had ended up here in a place that was by no means up to date.
She still had to save the situation.
Robin stood up confidently and smiled on every single face.
"Hello, my name is Nico Robin", she introduced herself in a friendly manner and waited for an answer from the stranger.
"Where do you come from?" Asked one of the soldiers briskly and got ready to fight.
"From ... Celvin," Robin said quickly. She had no idea if this place really existed, but it was worth a try.
There was a murmur through the crowd and shining eyes could be seen.
"You have a really long journey behind you. Tell me, why did you take such a grueling journey on yourself?", The soldier's voice was a lot friendlier and the onlookers around her were no longer as afraid as they were at the beginning.
"We would like to ask your cultural heirs", Robin had noticed that she had to talk to these people a bit more intellectual, which she had a lot of fun with.
"You have come to the right place, Señora Nico Robin. But tell me what kind of strange clothes you are wearing. Are you of noble blood?"
Robin looked down at herself, actually she looked pretty normal. Black pants and a tight blouse, so nothing special. But it had to be very unusual for these people, the women only wore simple brown dresses and the men ripped trousers and boring shirts."Yes, we are", Nami interfered and stepped next to the black-haired woman. The navigator did not want to miss this opportunity.
She always wanted to be aristocratic.
The soldier, who had been the only one who had dared to say something, bowed. "Forgive us for mistaking you for troublemakers. Please come with me, or else you will kill yourself."
He came to them and motioned for them to follow him.

Nami was not at all happy with her new clothes.
They were emerald green and incredibly uncomfortable.
Robin had it better, her dress was red and black and felt very good on the skin.
"I want to go home," Nami wailed. She didn't like it here as much as she'd hoped. The restaurant to which the soldier had brought them wasn't exactly the finest.
How would they have fared if she hadn't said they were nobles?
"Then let's look for a way."
Robin put the book she had brought here on the table.
Nami looked sceptically at the, for her, devilish thing. "Soraya's diary," she read with a bored undertone. "Doesn't sound exciting."
Robin had to giggle briefly, she had thought that at first, how much you could be wrong.
Robin opened the book again. Again the blank pages could be seen, that was then probably with a hint.
"Nothing," said the black-haired woman sadly.
"Unfortunately", Nami sighed, she wanted to go back.
The orange-haired woman put her hand on the book and was about to close it again when it began to glow again in light blue.
Robin immediately believed in a new tidal wave that would bring her back, but instead of waves, letters became visible.
As if by magic, they were finely written on the paper.
~
Whoever you are,
seek the house under the protection of the cross.
Looking for the unusual
and you find what should have been mine
~
As suddenly as these lines appeared, just as suddenly they committed to fade away again.
Nami had to swallow, someone seems to want to contact them.
Robin meanwhile looked for paper and a pen. It was imperative that she write these words down so that she would not forget them.
"That must be a clue," she muttered as she wrote.
"You don't really want to follow these words, do you?" Nami felt uneasy.
If these clues seemed so creepy, what was the purpose of those words?
"Maybe that's the only way we'll get back."
Nami had to sulk.
Those were great prospects.
"Well, the house that is under the protection of the cross can only mean a church or a cathedral. Then let's go!"
Robin was in a good mood, she had wanted to solve puzzles again for a long time. This could be a lot more exciting than any book she'd read before.
Nami, on the other hand, seemed to mind a lot.
"Are you crazy ?! Not now, did you check the date?"
Robin looked around and saw a calendar.
According to this, it was December 24th.
Robin was a little puzzled.
Why did they have the same calendar system here as on the Grandline?
Were they still on the Grandline at all?
"I don't see why that should stop us now," she said before pushing past Nami.
The navigator had to sigh again.
Why didn't anyone listen to them?
Nami quickly looked around and took the book with him, better safe than sorry.

Outside, the snow slowly floated to the ground in thick flakes and the temperature had dropped massively. Robin was really happy to have warm and dry clothes.
Hopefully they found a way to get back home because berrys weren't a valid currency here. She had already noticed that. Hopefully the landlord, with whom they were currently occupying a room, didn't notice that so quickly.
Otherwise they would end up in jail.
"I don't see a church here", Nami said after a short time and quickly added an ambiguous: "Then we can go again" on it.
"There has to be one here," the black-haired replied succinctly, she was already so in the mood for this puzzle that she couldn't or didn't want to concentrate on anything else.
“But Robin, how are we supposed to find a church or a cathedral?
Robin had to nod, usually churches were the tallest building in a town.
"We'd better ask someone."
Her gaze wandered over the snowy streets and saw a little boy walking towards her.
Robin went to meet the boy and knelt in front of him. Amazed, the little one stopped and looked at Robin Mute.
"Hello, we are strangers and are looking for a church or a cathedral. Can you please help us?"
"Of course I can help you. Are you guys like that who want to pray?"
Robin asked, looking a little
