When Shin wakes up, he realizes that something is on him. He turns his head to the side and discovers Sarina, who has leaned very close to him. Shin just grins. Somehow that's typical for Sarina. In the morning she is angry with you and in the evening she wants to be very close to him.
Shin gets up without waking Sarina and crawls out of the tent. There he stretches extensively. As he looks around, he notices that they have no firewood. Shin dropped everything yesterday and immediately ran back to camp. For some reason he felt that Sarina needed help. In the middle of the fight with the black-haired guy, he heard Sarina's voice in his mind. She warned him of someone behind him. Shin turned around quickly and caught the guy. Then he disappeared with his buddy. He doesn't remember what happened after that.
Shin has now collected branches and made a small fire. He goes back into the tent and checks how many provisions they still have available. Not very much anymore. That means they have to buy new groceries in the next village. Shin will have to do some work in the village again so that they have enough money at their disposal. Because money is also tight. Shin just hopes they don't have their trial posters in the village. Sarina and Shin are wanted. Shin is believed to be the leader of a gang called the Silver Eye. That's only because this gang had their secret hiding place where Shin had worked in the last village.
Sarina is wanted because she allegedly committed murder. But not just any murder, but the murder of Prince Allen. But she wasn't even near his property on the evening of the crime.
Shin fries the last egg. They will have to divide the egg. There will also be a piece of bread for everyone. Then there will only be something again in the evening. The two of them are used to not being able to eat regularly. On some days, like yesterday, there is only breakfast.
Sarina comes out of the tent. She sits down next to Shin, still very sleepy.
"The meal is ready. Here please." Shin hands her half of the fried ice cream and bread.
"That smells good. You should be a cook." Sarina starts to eat. Shin doesn't answer because he's got his mouth full right now. They both eat up in silence. Then Sarina clears the leftover food back to the remaining supplies and Shin dismantles the tent.
After half an hour they have packed everything up and are on their way.
"Shin, what kind of men were those yesterday that attacked us?"
"I don't know. We have nothing that could be of value to you. I've never seen them either before." Shin ponders, but he can't think of anything.
They walk on in silence. After a few hours you will hear noises.It sounds like something or someone is being chased and running through the bushes. Shin already has his hand on his sword. The rustling comes closer and closer. Suddenly a little blond boy comes running out of the bushes. He's totally scared. Sarina goes to him quickly.
“Are you all right?” The little boy shakes his head.
"What happened?" asks Shin.
"There ... there were two men. They ... they tried to kill me with the sword. I was sleeping between two bushes when I heard their voices."
Sarina takes the little one in her arms and tries to calm him down.
"Don't worry. You're safe with us. As long as Shin is there, everything is fine." Sarina points to Shin. He nods and points to his sword. "If I get my hands on these guys, they can experience something. We met them yesterday and they wanted to do something to Sari."
The boy has calmed down in the meantime. "May I come with you, Sari? I'm afraid to be alone." He looks at Sarina pleadingly. Sarina looks briefly at Shin and then turns back to the boy.
"Yeah, we can't leave you out here, or what do you mean Shin?"
"Yes, I think so too. It would be better if the little one comes with us. It's too dangerous for him here."
The boy's eyes begin to shine. He hugs Sarina.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you"
"It's okay. Now come on, we have to go on. Otherwise we won't get very far today." says Sarina.
"Exactly. It will rain later and by then we should get to the end of the forest." adds Shin. "Oh, by the way, what's your name, little one?"
"My name is Len, your name is Shin and her name is Sari."
"Exactly. How old are you, Len?" asks Sarina.
"I'm 8 years old. How old are you, Sari?"
"I am 17 years old."
"Really? Then you are already a grown woman."
"You see, Shin. I'm a grown woman." she giggles.
"Oh, if he knows you longer, he'll say you're a little lady." claims Shin.
Len pulls on Sari's dress and asks her in a whisper: "Is Shin your friend?"
Shin, who heard this, pats his head and says, "No. I'm not your boyfriend."
"Do you want to be my girlfriend then?" asks Len Sari. Shin has to laugh.
"I'd like to be, Len." says Sarina, glancing at Shin. Then she leans over to Len and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Shin watches with a grin.
"Are you jealous?" Len asks him.
"No, but you know what? I already like you." answers Shin.
"Shin? How old are you?"
"I'm 19 years old. That means I'm the oldest and you have to listen to me." Shin grins broadly at Len.
"Does that mean that you are our leader?"
"Exactly." Shin winks at him.
"Len, you're pretty smart for your age." notes Sarina.
"Thanks." The little blonde turns a little red.
Len takes Sarina's hand and so they go on together.---------------------
