Chapter: blood
It was warm out here tonight. Too warm for this time of year, but actually that suited me pretty well. The hotel I wanted to stay in today was 2 hours away from here so I hurried to get there as soon as possible. I didn't take the car, I had thought that if I didn't come back they could sell it and I definitely wouldn't need it. For the first 30 minutes, I practically just walked in front of myself. I didn't think of anything. At some point a song came to my mind that I liked very much and I started humming it. The melody was beautiful, it reminded me of something, but I didn't really know what it was. The song also sounded very sad and I suddenly felt a drop of water running down my face. At first I thought it was a tear but then I realized that it had started to rain. I quickly stood under a tree. It was about 75 minutes to the hotel. The rain got heavier. I decided to stop walking for the time being and crouched on the floor. It had got colder incredibly quickly. Suddenly it flashed. A thunderstorm was approaching. I thought about where I could spend the night, the tree certainly didn't offer any real protection from the rain. Nothing was to be seen in the rain and actually I didn't really feel like looking for something. So I stayed under the tree but the rain just didn't stop. I looked up. A flash of light illuminated my surroundings. I shouted.
When I opened my eyes I was lying on the ground next to the tree. I sat up and stared around. The rain had stopped, I was alone and it was still the middle of the night. I didn't know what had happened and looked at my hands. I was shocked to see that they were white as a sheet. I quickly got up and ran to a shop window on the other side. The picture I saw was terrifying; a dead pale creature, with a bloodied face and red eyes, stared at me from the pane of glass. I staggered and fell to the floor. The mirror being did the same. It was my reflection. I looked around once more, disturbed. There was no one there, I was alone. Suddenly I discovered a pool of blood on the ground and a trail of blood led me to a bush near the tree I was lying on before. I slowly approached the bush, the leaves were still on and I saw that these too were full of blood. When I held my face directly over the bush, there was a brief rustle and something jumped out of it directly towards me. I shouted. Suddenly I felt something warm running down my cheek and I opened my eyes. I saw a dead cat lying in front of me. Blood spread around them faster and faster. Horrified, I touch my cheek and wipe off the warm liquid. When I looked at my hand it was completely red.It was full of cat blood. The blood of the cat that lay before me. I didn't know what to do now so I grabbed my backpack, which was still leaning against the tree, and ran away from this place. Everything in my path was either cut through or blown away. I ran on in fear. My way led me further and further up a mountain and I stopped running. Then I sat down on a stone that was right next to me and frantically rummaged through my backpack.
"It has to be somewhere" After taking some clothes out I could see a cloth and pulled it out. I wiped my hands briefly, stuffed the clothes back into my backpack, and then wiped off the rest of the blood. Something had happened, something that would change my life forever from now on. Something I never thought would be possible at all. A monster had awakened inside me and was killing living beings through me.
