He couldn't see her anymore. The red queen. The image before his eyes faded, everything around him went black. Only now did he understand that the expensive wine in the glass wasn't the only thing he had consumed. When did she add the poison? When he was on the phone? When he smelled her hair? They were so red, so wonderfully red. Like a witch's hair. That was the last thing his brain could do.

The woman smiled and emptied the glass. Then she let it fall and it shattered on the floor. Then she went to the hard work, distributing gasoline all around the body. A single match was enough to turn everything into a sea of flames. Including the body of the businessman. The fire was so infinitely red, it attracted the woman, she couldn't defend herself against it. Only when the heat became unbearable did she start to leave the villa. Outside she stood at a safe distance and watched the spectacle. The sea of red flames pushed its way out of the windows and enveloped the wall.

The woman turned and stalked toward the car, which was a few yards away. The passenger door was open, the driver seemed to have calculated their return well. She squeezed into the car, a VW Golf convertible.

"Your dress looks impressive. Nothing was damaged," the driver said he had to say. The woman just smiled. She knew he found her attractive, who didn't?

But the man didn't show it. He leaned casually in his recessed seat and smoked a cigarette.

"What else? Did everything go smoothly? Brandy?" He wanted to know and used his index finger to push the brim of his black hat up.

The woman began to remove her make-up and nodded incidentally,

"No problems. Cognac," she replied and then turned to her cell phone, which suddenly rang.

Cognac groaned demonstratively.

"What now? Don't say we have another job."

Brandy just grinned.

"Oh yes, directly from your old partner," she revealed.

That, of course, caught Cognac's attention.

"Scotch? What is he writing, the good guy?" He wanted to know.

Brandy seemed to be going through the information, then handed him the cell phone.

Cognac stared spellbound at the display and the image of the next target person.

"Oh yes ... that should be really interesting."
Part 1

RestBeika - Block 6
"Came Yaiba!"

"Gomera!"

"Came Yaiba!"

"Gomera!"

"Came Yaiba!"

"Gomera!"

"Stop it!", Conan finally had it. Mitsuhiko and Genta's disputes had been going on for half the day.

"No matter what skills Kamen Yaiba has, we are talking about a 30-meter-tall monster, how should a man be able to defeat it on his own?"

"The fairy godmother once conjured up Gomera and she has even fewer skills than Kamen Yaiba!", Ayumi objected. Mitsuhiko agreed right away, of course.

"But Kamen Yaiba has already defeated countless monsters, Gomera would be just another one.", Genta protested.

Conan gave up. He was exhausted from school and all the rest of it. But he was kind of ... happy too. He was lucky, there was no other way of saying it. Bourbon's death secured his future. His data had not been passed on to the organization, otherwise he would not be able to march home with his friends. 5 days had passed since the tragic end on the roof of the Haido City Hotel. The organization remained quiet despite the loss of one of its key members.

"Look! A case!", Ayumi pointed out something.

The Detective Boys craned their heads and apparently the girl was right.

Two patrol cars were parked in front of the entrance to an expensive-looking apartment.

"Ah! Inspector Takagi!", Mitsuhiko pointed out to the staunch officer.

Indeed, the young inspector took in some testimony from witnesses, but this did not prevent the group from seeing him.

"So you said ... huh? Where did you come from all of a sudden?" He asked, astonished.

But instead of greeting him, Mitsuhiko limited himself to the most important things.

"What kind of case is it? Burglary? Kidnapping? Murder?" He asked, very interested.

Takagi scratched his temple with his pen, embarrassed.

"Well that's ..." he began to stammer.

"Hey, Takagi! You don't really have important information to give in front of you, do you?", A voice behind him asked sharply.

It belonged to the plump inspector in the orange trench coat. Takagi's gaze literally pierced.

"No, I ..." he stammered on until the inspector took over. He chased the Detective Boys away and they left the scene of the crime offended. That was fine with Conan, if he was honest. A few days ago he had to watch two people being struck down by a precision rifle. And he knew this was a murder case, why should Inspector Megure be here otherwise? No, he really didn’t want the children to do that.

"Well, we part ways here.", He said and said goodbye to his friends. The Detective Boys did the same and waved goodbye. Conan would have wanted to march towards the detective agency now, but he couldn't.10 minutes later he was back in front of the apartment and was thinking about how to persuade the inspector to let him in.

"Aren't you ... Conan-kun?" Asked a surprised voice from behind the shrunken detective.
Beika Block 6 - Takahata Seito-san's apartment
"The victim is Takahata Seito-san, 52, owner of a restaurant chain. The forensic doctor estimates the death to be between 2 and 4 am tonight. He was found by his housekeeper," Takagi read from his notes.

"Type of death?" Asked Megure.

"So ...", Takagi grumbled.

"Potassium cyanide, isn't it?" Asked a familiar voice.

Takagi and Megure looked in the direction from which they were coming. Someone I knew knelt next to the corpse and sniffed it.

"Conan-kun! What are you doing here?" The inspector asked angrily.

He was about to order an officer to throw him out until another voice answered.

"Forgive me, he's here at my request."

The officers turned to see a man in a suit with a mustache.

"Koumei-san?", Takagi asked surprised.

"Koumei?" Asked Megure puzzled.

"Uh ... I'm an Inspector Morofushi. What's bringing you here?" He asked.

Koumei looked alternately at the officers and at the corpse.

"I was on my way to the headquarters, so I thought I could help you with the investigation," he explained.

While Megure was still thinking what that was about, he suddenly remembered the little detective.

"But ... do you think it's wise to let Conan-kun in?" He asked skeptically.

Koumei made a defensive gesture.

"You should know about the kid's abilities. It's also useful because he lives nearby," he replied.

Megure raised an eyebrow.

"Nearby?" He asked.

Takagi did the answer for the senior officer.

"Yes, Mori-san's detective agency is just a block away from here," he reminded him.

Megure nodded, he remembered. He wondered whether this fact alone had brought the victim to the afterlife, but rejected the thought.

"And apparently he drank a glass of wine.", Conan's voice rang out again, who was now busy at the table next to which the victim lay.

"Alele? That's strange. Apparently he had a guest, one of the glasses broke. But strangely enough it's on the other side of the table. If he'd knocked it over in his agony, it would be next to the corpse, but like that? ", he did in astonishment.

Megure motioned the forensics team to collect the remains of the glass.

"So ... couldn't that be the red witch?", His voice asked now.

Conan knew it, it belonged to a female forensic scientist he had seen many times at crime scenes.

Takagi looked a little confused.

"Red witch?" He asked.

The forensic scientist nodded excitedly. There were 8 such cases in the last year.Always rich business people and government officials. Witnesses saw her with a beautiful woman with red hair, but it is said not to have been a foreigner. "she revealed.

Megure wondered if he had heard of such a case before.

"Nagano ..." came from Koumei. Everyone looked at him.

"It may be a serial killer. I read about a similar case in Nagano. This should be the first in Tokyo, though," he mused.

Megure grabbed his hat. He couldn't take a serial killer at the moment.

"Inspector!" Shouted a voice that soon afterwards identified Conan as con Chiba.

He stood in front of a phone and examined it. The group went to it and Chiba pointed to the answering machine.

A saved message.

Inspector Megure gave his consent with a nod and Chiba started the device. At first there was nothing to be heard for a while, then a woman's voice.

"Are you waiting for me already? Are you looking forward to me? I am. I will pay you a visit that you will never forget. Brandy."

Then a beep.

A short time of silence.

These words didn't mean much to Megure, Takagi, or Chiba, but Conan backed away uncertainly.

"Brandy."

An accident? Was it about the drink? No, it was a name, there was no doubt about it. These serial killings were therefore not, but contract killings. And the red hair and glasses were a certain person's trademark. Brandy. A member of the organization. It couldn't be otherwise.

"Brandy?" Asked Megure thoughtfully.

Nobody could figure it out.

"Well ... I wish you the best of luck with your investigation.", Conan said suddenly and found his way outside.

"Hey ...! Conan-kun!", Takagi couldn't stop him.

"All right, let's continue.", Megure said and everyone agreed with him.
