I leaned back with a sigh and brushed my hair back from my face. While I took a small portion, the blond boy next to me munched several. How he can do this will always be a secret to me.
"Do you still want to eat that?" He asked me with a grin and I shook my head before sitting upright again and watching him devour.
I slowly started to smile, he just looked weird. I didn't smile often anymore. I hardly cried for that. My face was always indifferent, never cold. Just indifferent, I rarely showed what I was feeling, but there were storms and battles inside me, which actually didn't make it any better.
He looked at me puzzled until he gulped down, probably having to hold back a burp, and cocked his head with a grin. I looked away again, or rather at the empty plates and bowls that were on the counter. So much food too, boy is he hungry!
"Do you know that we actually don't talk to each other anymore?" I asked thoughtfully and turned to him.
"We see each other almost every day.", Naruto replied, shaking his head and I grinned.
"In that way, yes, but we're only training. I mean now that we never really talk about anything normal.", He nodded, shrugging.
"Then ... how are you doing?" He asked with a laugh and I gave him a light push.
"Idiot." I muttered and turned away again.
He laughed so heartily it made me smile. How could he laugh so much? Especially for so long?
"No, seriously now. How are you?" He asked seriously now, but in a soft, friendly tone.
"Good, good. My training with Tsunade-sama is going well, otherwise too. And you?" I said lost in thought.
"Also, too. Do you know what I've been thinking?" I looked interested and curious.
'No, how? Can i read minds 'I scoffed at his testimony in my mind.
"Maybe we should persuade Tsunade to start a new search. We haven't heard from him for a long time!" .
Of course I could tell that the emphasis was on 'we'. And yes, it bothered me. If instead of the 'we' there were an 'I', it would annoy me more. I didn't want Naruto to worry about him any longer. I saw in him a good - no - very good friend, which is why I feel compelled to talk him out of it.
"No." I said simply and he pouted.
"What's that supposed to mean now? Man, Sakura.", He muttered irritably and continued to upset her.
I had to hold back an amused grin because he looks really cute right now. Just sweet as sugar to see him so hot. I still admire how he gets into it."Just leave it. Why doesn't it work.", My answer was simple and unmoved.
At first he didn't say anything. I think he was mad. Or I had offended him, but I didn't really want that. I supported the blonde in many ways, but not there. Not when it comes to him.
"Tell me, do you actually hate him?" He asked more seriously than before after a while.
"No, why?" I countered skillfully and smiled mischievously.
"Because you always seem so contrite and irritable when we talk about Sasuke.", Naruto replied worried.
Touché. Bravo. A clever argument, but that is not always the case in and of itself. I don't hate him, but still - a good argument.
"Oh what, no. I don't hate him.", It came from me truthfully.
I leaned forward so I wouldn't have to look the blonde in the face. Or in his blue eyes, which probably look at me with disappointment, as if I had committed murder. My short, tousled pink hair fell in front of my eyes before I brushed it back again.
"But you already have an aversion to him," he said sarcastically.
"Not even."
Sighing again, I jumped down from my chair, pulled down my wallet, paid for our two orders, and raised my hand in parting. I couldn't take it any longer without scrubbing him! That he always tries to address this topic somehow! Argh, calm Sakura, calm ...
"W-where are you going?" "I'm full, besides, I have to go. It was nice to talk to you, Naruto. See you tomorrow!", I waved to him before I looked in with a slightly - very slightly - angry face the next street disappeared.
