Stunned, Akemi ran through the alleys of a dark city. Not a soul was to be seen and yet Akemi had the feeling that she was being watched. She was afraid of stopping or even looking around. Drops of sweat formed on her forehead and the silence of the night turned her fear into panic. Sir ran even faster now and her long blond hair was blowing around her face as she turned into the next alley. Dead end!
She ran back and took an alley to the left. Her panic grew step by step. Another dead end!
This is just unreal ! Akemi thought. She had no choice! She had to go back the way she came!
But which one was that ?!
Akemi suddenly felt a sting in his back. She cried out in pain and fell to her knees. Hot tears rolled down her cheek. "I can't do it!" She shouted into the night in her desperation. The sting in her back was unbearable. It wasn't an ordinary pain. It was like a cold yet burning arrow that stuck in her back and burned her skin inch by inch. Akemi carefully tried with her hand to get to the place where the pain originated. Slowly she reached back her right hand. She winced when she accidentally touched the skin on her back. She tried a second time. This time her hand found something metallic, it was cold and stuck deep in her back. When she pulled on it, an excruciating pang went through her and Akemi screamed. She let go in shock and fell forward, panting. But it didn't help, she had to pull this thing out! Resolutely, she grabbed a second time and pulled on the metal thing at her back, screaming loudly. At first nothing moved, but then something behind her clanked to the ground. Akemi held her stomach, moaning in pain. She felt something liquid seep through her T-shirt and run down her stomach. She took her hand from her stomach and looked at it. Her hand glittered in the moonlight and smelled funny. When she realized what smelled so strange, she was shocked. Her hands were smeared with blood and had small cuts in places.
When she had recovered from her horror, Akemi noticed how her strength began to wane. The wind whistled around her ears and she heard a faint rustling of paper behind her. Slowly and carefully, so as not to inflict even more pain than before, she stretched her left hand back again. Her fingers only got hold of the metal thing that was stuck in her back. She took it out and discovered a note tied to it. It was a message! The letters were blurred and written in red. Akemi concentrated fully on the letters in order to be able to recognize something. It said, "You lost, Akemi!I'm coming!"
Akemi's eyes widened in shock and she looked around in panic. But there was nothing! "I'm here!" Akemi whispered a familiar voice in her ear and the last thing she saw was the shadow of a boy before she passed out in a daze of pain.

Akemi woke up screaming. She was back in bed, sweating with shock. The moon shone through her window and her shadow formed on the carpet next to the bed. Then her headache came back and she held her head.
Who is this boy who keeps popping up in her nightmares? she wondered.
