Fighting Angels

A completely normal day

May 6th was like any other Tuesday, nothing special. At least that's what I thought.
"RRing, RRing," came a noise that instantly pulled me out of my dreams.
It was my alarm clock that starts ringing at 7 a.m. every morning. I opened my room window. The beautiful red-yellow shining morning sun rose on the horizon and shone in my face. I felt the warmth that emanated from her, so full of energy and life. For a brief moment I completely forgot the time and when I turned around to look at the clock I was startled. Fifteen minutes had already passed. In no time at all, I opened my closet, took out my new t-shirt and short blue pants and changed my clothes. Then I opened the door to my room and went down the fifteen steps into the hallway. My mother had already prepared my breakfast for me and was waiting for me in the kitchen. When I said hello to my mother, she hugged me and kissed me on the cheek.

"I beg you mom, I'm embarrassed," I said to her while giving her a horrified look.
"What should be embarrassing about that, my darling?", She replied with a smile on her face while she pushed the food into my hand.

At this point, it had been two years since my father disappeared.
This incident had hit me and my mother badly and I know that my mother has still felt lonely since then, which is why she takes so much care of me. But I am no longer a little boy who cannot take care of himself, but my mother simply cannot and does not want to understand that. After I had had an extensive breakfast I took my blue and green school bag and went out of the house.
Shortly after walking a few meters I heard footsteps getting louder and louder.

"Akito, wait for me," I turned around and saw my best friend Masaru, completely out of breath, sprinting down the path, almost tripping over a small stone.
"Hey Masaru, why are you in such a hurry today?" I asked him when he came to me panting and gasping for air.
"I ... I thought ... .. go today .... A little ... earlier ... to pick you up ...", he answered me, panting and gasping deeply.
"Now calm down and sit down for a moment, we are not in such a hurry either." I suggested to him and sat down next to him on the edge of the sidewalk.

I gave him a sip of water to drink, almost all of which he had drunk.

"So, come on Masaru let's move on," I said to him while leaning on his shoulder and getting up.
"If you help me to get up then we can go anytime," he replied and gave me his indescribably crooked grin.
"Pfft ..." I replied and turned away from him and thumbed a few steps further."Now wait a minute," he called to me, "You could have done me that favor."
"Now just come along and don't complain," I said to him as I gave him a look that he immediately knew how it was meant.

We both understood each other blindly, I think we could have communicated without a word. We went down the street and turned left at the end. We hadn't got too far when we heard a girl's voice from behind.

"Masaru, Akito please stop!" Called a girl behind us.
And when we turned around it was Jessy, Masaru's friend.
"Good morning Jessy, why are you so late today?" Asked Masaru and looked at her with a puzzled look.
"That only happened because I dreamed of you last night and just didn't want to wake up," she replied, blushing all over the place. Masaru walked up to her, hugged her gently and gave her a kiss on the mouth, which in my opinion was taking way too long.
"Come on now people, can't you two lovebirds postpone this until later?" I asked them, while I turned away from them and wanted to go on.
"Oh, you're just jealous because you don't have a girlfriend yet, my friend," he said with a very nasty grin on his face.

He wasn't wrong, I really didn't have a girlfriend because I just haven't found the right one for me yet,
So the three of us continued on our way to school, although I hoped that would not interfere any more, since we are already too late. A few minutes later we arrived at the entrance to the school. We got there just in time for the first lesson to begin, went to our room, and sat in our chairs.
But I don't think you will be interested in what we did in class, so I'll just skip this part.
After the last lesson I waited in front of the school building for Masaru, because after school we wanted to go to the new gaming center, which was newly opened in the city. But he didn't come.
So I went back to the school building and asked some students if they had seen him. When I asked our teacher, he replied that Masaru had to clean up the art room because he had done something again.
Always this Masaru. So I went upstairs to the art room to help him with his punishment. Once at the top, Masaru was already cleaning the tables.

"What have you been up to now?" I asked him after knocking on the door.
"I didn't do anything at all," he replied in an angry voice.
"Now calm down again," I said to him, "I'll help you out". So I took a rag, put it under running water and started helping him clean the tables.
"Akito, you don't always have to help me when I've done something wrong," he replied, but I interrupted him and said to him with a friendly smile on my face:"Masaru we are best friends and I'll help you whenever I can, even if you don't want to accept my help".
"But how am I supposed to make it up to you when you help me so often?" He asked me, while he held his rag under running water again.
"The day will come soon enough, my friend," I replied as I wiped the wet rag over the table.

It took a while, but after almost two hours we managed to completely clean the room. We were both so out of breath that we had to sit down for a moment before we log off and let them know that we had finally finished. As we were about to leave the room, our teacher came in to see how far we had come. From the look on his face you can tell that he was amazed that the room was so clean.

"Well, I have to admit you did a very good job, but why did you help Masaru with his punishment Akito? You could have been home long ago," said Mr. Akyiama to us and continued to look around the room.
"I just think he couldn't have done it without my help," I replied and looked at Masaru with a smile.
"Maybe I should keep you guys here more often," said Mr. Akyiama to us, in a tone of praise.

"I think we'd better fit in there, right Masaru?" I said to Mr. Akyiama with a smile on my face.
"Exactly," answered Masaru and nodded his head.
"Well, you can go, but make sure you don't have to do that again," said Mr. Ayikama, who just went to the door and held it for us.

We thanked him and went down the stairs of the school to the main entrance. When we left school we only noticed that the sun was already going down. I checked my watch; it was just after six in the evening. So we went down the street and turned right at the end to go up the street to my house. Once at the top I said goodbye to Masaru with a handshake, took my key ring out of my jacket pocket and used it to open the front door.
My mother was waiting for me and was preparing dinner. Fortunately, because my stomach was already down in the back of my knees.
"Akito at home again? How was it in the new gaming center?", My mother asked me as I took off my shoes and put my school bag next to the closet.
"Masaru and I did not go there today, he had to do penalties again today and I helped him with it," I replied and went to my mother in the kitchen.
"But that's very nice that you help him, come and sit down, dinner will be ready immediately, I've prepared your favorite dish, Donburi *", she said to me and put the bowl down in front of me.

While we were eating, I told my mother about my day. After we finished eating I took my bowl and cleaned it up quickly. After that
I went up to my room, sat at my desk, and did my homework. A moment later the phone rang.

"Akito, phone for you it's Masaru," my mother called from downstairs, so I got up and went downstairs and picked up the phone.
"Hey Masaru, what's up?" I asked him as I went back up to my room.
"Tell me, can you help me with my homework?" He replied.
"Of course I can," I replied, "I'll just fetch my bag from below for a moment".

After we had sorted everything out, it was already 10:30 p.m., so I packed my school supplies for tomorrow and put my bag ready.
Then I went to bed, covered myself up and it wasn't long before I fell asleep. But that night I dreamed something ...
