Fighting Angels
The day it all began
I was standing on a light green, almost shining green meadow and the smell of different flowers was clearly in the air. But one thing surprised me, far and wide there were no trees, no road, let alone a house or a person. I was all alone in this meadow. So I decided to go a few meters further, maybe I would meet someone who can tell me where I am and why there is absolutely nothing here. But because of that thought, I found it hard to hope that there would be a living person here at all. Still, I kept going because I just didn't want to give up hope. I looked up at the sky, so blue and with no clouds in sight. But something was missing, the sun that was usually in the sky had disappeared. Something couldn't be right and where was I anyway? How did I get here? I stopped, but my legs started moving on their own. What's going on here? A moment later, I saw something on the horizon. I noticed my legs getting faster and faster. Suddenly I stopped. I looked into the fiery red eyes of someone I didn't know. It was quiet, too quiet for my taste. My heart was getting faster and faster and I could hear it pulsing. Just as I was about to ask the person something, they turned around.
"It's been a long time since we last saw each other," said the person in a harsh male voice. I was wondering, did I know this person? Have I met him somewhere before?
"Huh, what do you mean, I don't know you and where am I here anyway?" I asked him, looking at him with a questionable expression.
"Now the question of where we are here, only you can answer, because this world looks different for each of us," he answered me, turned to me and put his palm on my head
"And I can give you a tip on who I am".
He took off the mask he was wearing on his face. My heart was beating even faster than before, it seemed to me as if my heart would leave my body at any moment and fall to the ground in front of me. But the way he put his hand on my head seemed so familiar. I looked him into his eyes one more time, then finally recognized it.
"No, that can't be, Father is that you?" I asked him while tears welled into my eyes.
"So you haven't forgotten me for the last two years? I'm so happy to finally see you again," he said and took me in his arms. I was so happy to see my father again, but I asked myself the question, if he had been there all the time, why didn't he get in touch once in the last two years?
"But if you've been there the whole time, you could have contacted us," I replied, breaking free from his embrace and wiping the tears from my face. "Do we mean nothing to you?".
"I'm very sorry my son, but I had a very important task to attend to," he replied, taking a step closer to me, taking a step back.
"What could be more important than your own family? Do you even know how difficult it was for both of us. It was especially hard for mother, she spent a whole year looking for you. But in the end everyone thought you were already I yelled at him, tears streaming down my face again.
"I can understand you all too well, my son, but none of it will do you any good. For the last two years I have been looking for a valuable artifact that I need to gain the power to wipe out the sky. That's why I can not return to you and mother, "he said with a deathly serious but also insane look.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand a word you are saying," I asked, in a frightened voice.
"And now the artifact is right in front of me, it couldn't go any better. And now give it to me!" He shouted and moved towards me with great strides.
"What do you want from me? Go away! You are not the father I know!" I shouted and ran away from him as fast as I could.
"Your pendant that you have with you, give it to me or I'll have to use force to get it!", He said, getting faster and faster.
"Never in my life! I got the trailer from my mother, she said I should take very good care of it! Now get out of here!" I shouted to him, which was the wrong decision at that moment.
"Then I can't do anything more for you," he replied, "You could have had a good life."
He pulled out a double-sided spear and ran towards me. I tried to run as fast as I could, but for some reason my father kept getting closer to me. Suddenly I slipped and fell to the ground. Was it over now? Do I have to die like this now? What happened to my dad? I heard my father's footsteps getting louder and louder, he was getting closer and closer. I couldn't move no matter how hard I tried, none of my body parts obeyed me. I closed my eyes and waited for my father's final blow that would end my life. I heard his steps more and more clearly and louder, every single step echoed in my ears that it hurt. Now he was right in front of me, his spear pointed at me but he hesitated. Was he a draw? No, I felt the pain in my chest, the spear had pierced my heart. That was the end, I couldn't even say goodbye to my friends anymore.
"RRing, RRing", I was frightened, all of a sudden I was sitting on my bed, it was my alarm clock.
I sat on my bed and pressed my hand tightly against my chest. I paused for a moment. I'm still alive? Have i dreamed all of thisAnd if it was, why was it so real? I still felt the pain on my chest. However, thinking about not stopping me from going to school, so I took my things out of my closet and got dressed. My mother was already waiting for me in the kitchen again. Should I perhaps tell her something about my "dream"? I think it would be better not to tell her because it sounds way too crazy anyway. And I don't know how my mother would react to that. I took my bag and went to school as I did every day. Today I didn't meet Masaru on the way to school, but he was already waiting for me on the school grounds.
"Good morning Akito", Masaru greeted me with a smile on his face.
"Good morning, Masaru, why are you here so early today?" I asked him when we made our usual handshake.
"Jessy had insisted so I couldn't help it," Masaru replied, looking over at her at that very moment.
"You let her persuade you too easily, you know that?" I said to him when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my chest. It was clear to me that I shouldn't let that show in this situation. But the pain was just unbearable.
To my advantage, the school bell rang at that very moment, so that Masaru and everyone else didn't notice.
"Well, what should I do, she has such power of persuasion", Masaru replied. "But let's go in, I don't feel like doing penal tasks again".
I nodded my head and followed him into the classroom. During the class, I found it very difficult to listen to Teacher as thoughts kept pumping through my head. During the break, Masaru joined Jessy and her friends, which is why I moved into a corner and could think in peace. Again and again I had the picture of my father in my head, those red eyes, something was wrong. I didn't believe that it could only have been a dream, why else would I feel the unbearable sting on my chest. Towards the end of the break, Masaru came to me and asked me why I was so absent. Then I replied that it was because of my dream last night. He wanted to know what I had dreamed, but the lesson had already started and I told him that I would tell him later. The next hours went by like a flight and after the last lesson all the students left the classroom, only Masaru and I were still in the room.
"Come on Masaru, let's go too," I said to him and helped him to pack his bag.
"Ok, I'm coming, but don't forget to tell me your dream, understand?" He replied and went to the door.
"Don't worry," I said and followed him down the stairs. "But do you have enough time to listen to me?".
"Hey, you are my best friend Akito, I listen to you anytime, I just have to be with Jessy on time," Masaru replied and he put his hand on my shoulder, thinking of my father again as he put his hand on put my head down.
On the way home I told him everything down to the smallest detail, only the one about the pain I had left out because I didn't want to worry him. In response he told me that it was all just a dream and I wish he would be right about it, but I couldn't believe it. After saying goodbye to Masaru, I went home. When I opened the door, my mother was just getting the living room tidy.
"Akito?", My mother asked me. "Could you just go into town and do some shopping?"
"Ok, what should I buy?" I wanted to know as I was on my way to her in the living room.
"I left a list on the table for you in the kitchen and put the money next to it," my mother replied.
"Okay, I'll do it", I said to her and took the list and the money from the kitchen table. "See you later mom".
So I went out the door again and made my way down into town. It took me a while to get there, but I was finally in town. The supermarket was right in front of me, so I went in and got all the things my mother had put on the list. After I had paid everything at the cash register and had packed the things, I went back outside. I was on my way home when the pain in my chest suddenly got worse. The pain became more and more unbearable, my heart felt as if it could tear at any moment. My body felt heavy and I could no longer stand on my feet. I was on the floor, my shopping bag fell on the floor next to me and it was quiet. Too quiet, almost as if I had gone deaf. Suddenly it started to rain. The drops pattered on my face, I couldn't move. I felt helpless, what should I do now? I was afraid. I noticed steps that came closer and closer. With every step they came closer, it echoed louder in my head. I tried to turn around and all of a sudden a person was standing in front of me, dressed in black and with pitch black hair.
"I finally found you," said this person in a dark voice. As much as I tried I couldn't move and not a single sound escaped my mouth.
"Now be a good boy and give me the pendant that you carry with you," he ordered me and held out his hand to me.
All of a sudden
