The girl was sure that she must be quite red in the face right now. The redhead, who, by the way, must have been her age, laughed.

"Nothing to thank." He held out his hand to Mina, "By the way, I'm Lavi, and you are?"

"Mina ..."

"Okay, see you!"

And before she knew it he was gone. "W-what was that?" She muttered. Usually she isn't like that, but that was probably because he called her beautiful. She has never been called beautiful because of her strange mark, her messy hair that is far too long and because she is so small. In fact, she was a little too small for her age, but she didn't mind.

The brunette never thought of herself as beautiful. She didn't like her brown-red eyes, and she could never get along with her dark brown, hip-length hair, as it didn't flow down, but grew tousled. The only thing she liked was her eyelashes, which framed her eyes tightly.

She touched her forehead and sighed, which she's been doing way too often lately. What kind of people were they and why didn't they despise the young woman? It was slowly getting dark and Mina hadn't found a place to sleep yet, so she made her way out of the village. After a few hours of searching, it was already night and Mina was now unsuspecting in a forest. She looked around and went through the entire day in her mind when she heard a bloodcurdling screech behind her. She quickly hurried to the clearing from which she thought she heard the scream.

A little boy was standing in the clearing.

"H-did you yell?" He turned to her and said, "Yes. And you're next."

An Akuma crept out of him. Mina's hand snapped to Warda's hilt and drew the gigantic sword from its scabbard.

“Die, demon!” The girl jumped on the height of the monster and shouted: “Warda, blooming death!” Orange-colored light surrounded the sword. Mina reached out and hit the monster in the 'face'. She just landed back on the forest floor when she noticed more of the beasts. “Warda, screeching tornado!” Wind came up and slowly forms a vortex around the sword. The girl held it up and wanted to jump up when she lost her balance and fell. She got up immediately and was just reaching for her blade when one of the demons attacked her. Mina quickly dodged the bullets and tried again to snatch her sword from the possession of the ground when she was attacked by several Akumas this time. Again she dodged the bullets, but didn't look behind her and landed right in front of the claws of the Level 2 Akuma.

“MINA!” The voice sounded familiar to the girl and she wanted to look around when the creature behind her swung back. The monster hit her and she passed out.

When Mina opened her eyes she stared at a blanket that was strange to her. She tried to get up, but was hindered by a sharp pain in her back. The brunette gritted her teeth and sat up. 'Where am I? ', it went through her head. The girl looked around. The room was obviously a hospital room, but how did she get here? Confused, despite the pain, she got up and staggered to the door when it opened.

"I just wanted to look after you, better sit down. Tell me, aren't you in pain?" A girl with dark green hair, which was tied in pigtails, entered the room.

"I'm ... fine." "It doesn't look like it! Sit down, I have to check on your injuries. The Akuma hit you pretty hard." The brunette finally sat down, somewhat confused. The girl, who introduced herself as Lenalee, took off her top and grabbed her back lightly, whereupon Mina gritted her teeth again. "Au ..."

Lenalee asked worriedly.

"More or less."

After the green-haired woman smeared an ointment on Mina's back and bandaged her wound, she finally left the girl alone.

"Mina ... tell me what kind of sword is that you have there?"

"W-how do you know my name?" Asked the brunette, slightly shocked.

"Lavi betrayed him to me."

"Lavi?"

"The redhead guy with only one eye," she tried to remind me.

A little confused, Mina looked around again. The sun shone in the room and the calm made the surroundings seem idyllic. Suddenly the girl remembered him. It was the guy she'd met in the village.

"Um ... Lenalee, can you tell me how I got here?"

"After you were hit by the Akuma you passed out. Kanda and Lavi watched the fight a bit and then saved you. But tell me now, do you know anything about an Innocence?"

The brunette touched her head. 'What Innocence? ', she thought.

"No."

The green-haired woman explained to Mina what the Innocence was and what the Akumas were all about. She also told about the exorcists and what they are doing. "And we believe that you are a compatible.", Lenalee finished her sentence.

'Am I a Compatible? 'The injured woman thought of Warda. 'Has it anything to do with Warda? 'She also expressed that thought. The Chinese nodded and mumbled: "I have to do something for a moment. I'll send someone else up to you to explain how bad the injuries are." She smiled and then left a confused Mina behind. Now it was completely quiet in the room. She closed her eyes and hummed a soft melody to herself until her ears heard a door opening. She quickly opened her eyes and looked at the door, which was now a nurse. She explained the extent of the injuries, but said that in two days she would be walking again without much pain. After the woman had left, Mina lay down and stared at the ceiling.

'It's so strange to stare at a ceiling. ', she thought. The brunette was actually only used to heaven. She grabbed her shoulder again. At some point the past will catch up with her and she will despair because she has still not found anyone to trust forever.

'But now that I'm here, maybe everything can change. 'She fell asleep with a smile on her face.

When she woke up she stared again at the strange ceiling. It was night and the silence harmonized with the moonlight that shone through the open window. Mina sighed and got up, despite the pain. She staggered to the window where a gentle breeze awaited her. She stroked her tousled hair and started humming the tune again. After a few minutes she fell silent and looked out the window. Mina looked at the sky, where the moon, surrounded by dancing stars, played the main role. It stood gigantically in the middle of the dark sky and seemed to be the energy source of the night when it was illuminated. And yet its light was so weak that it only seemed like a soft curtain in front of the stars.

She decided to lie down again as the pain in her back was slowly increasing. After a few minutes, the brunette sank back into the sea of dreams and hopes.
