Fanfic: Max in Love
Chapter: Not alone!
"Damn it! Now please answer your cell phone!" Max cursed and tried again to call Leena, but this time only the mailbox answered. "I'm an idiot! A damn idiot!" Desperate, he gave up trying to call her and instead texted her apologizing. He wanted to kick himself in the butt for what he'd done. However, he was sure that one of his friends would do it as soon as he told them. Max didn't know what to do next and decided to go to Ray and ask him for help. He was afraid of a Chinese lecture, but the idea of an angry Hilary scared him more.
The blonde rang the doorbell of his friend and Ray opened the door for him. He looked at Max in amazement. "Don't say now you didn't dare!" he said to his teammate. This looked disgruntled at the floor and replied: "Worse! I screwed it up and hurt you." Ray asked his friend to come in and made tea.
They sat in the living room and Max had to tell him everything from beginning to end. Ray listened intently and, much to Max's astonishment, remained calm. Then the Chinese said: "The whole thing has gone pretty well, even Tyson couldn't have messed it up any worse." he sipped his teacup. Max looked at him spellbound and hoped for helpful advice from his friend, but he was silent. Then the doorbell rang and the Chinese stood up with the words: "The cavalry is here." A few seconds later he came back into the living room and Max knew what Ray meant by cavalry.
Hilary followed Ray into the living room and glared at Max. "Alert: Tyson in the china warehouse? Can you please explain to me what you did to Leena !?" she hissed at the blonde. Max gave Ray a look that made it clear that he had pushed him into the lion cage. And Hilary was the lion. When Max had also explained everything to her, she looked at Ray in horror and said: "You haven't exaggerated." Then she thought about how she could help Max. The two boys looked at her expectantly and then a hopefully saving idea came to her.
"Good that you got me guys! Ray, I need your laptop for a moment. And call Kenny and Tyson. Max needs all the help he can get!" The boys looked at each other questioningly, then Ray got up and closed his laptop Hilary at the table. Max called Kenny and Tyson in the meantime. "Kai too?" he wanted to know from Hilary but she just shook her head. "He's sure to find something like that too childish." she gave him in response.
Hilary wrote an email and after a short time a video call came via Skype. It was Jason, Hilary had cleverly turned to him to talk to him about Leena. Jason didn't know what was going on because Hilary didn't want to tell him, but answered all her questions and said goodbye with the words: "If the blonde messes it up, I'll tear his head off!"
The boys all looked excitedly at Hilary, she hadn't said a word what her plan was. The only girl in the group briefly noted Jason's answers and then turned to her team.
"So! Everything has to be done as soon as possible! Tyson, you can find out where the best pizza in town is and ask if they can bake pizzas in other shapes!" She gave Tyson a slip of paper with precise instructions and continued: "Kenny, you and Dizzy got me the following things!" She handed Kenny a list of the items and Kenny saluted her. "Ray! You come with me! We chat with her mother, she mustn't thwart our plan!" Ray nodded, he was planning to talk to his mother anyway.Everyone now had a task, only Max was still looking over at Hilary like a doused poodle. "... and what do I do?" he asked sheepishly. Hilary looked at him sharply. "Isn't that clear? You're considering how to apologize and finally confess your feelings to her!" she hissed angrily at him and added. “And I thought Tyson would be difficult to understand!” Tyson protested with a short “Ey” and then continued to talk to Kenny about the plan, because he had not yet understood the meaning behind it.
When everyone had their assignments and Hilary had described the plan in detail, everyone went home. It was getting late and today they wouldn’t achieve anything. Max looked after his friends. Nobody had reprimanded him or tore his head off as harshly as he expected. But on the contrary. Each of his friends helped him to straighten things out, even Tyson, who was usually too childish for something like that and actually found love and girls stupid, almost broke a leg to help his best friend Max.
Max said goodbye to Ray and said: "Thank you, but next time please don't throw me to the lioness without warning." Ray laughed and replied: "I hope we don't have to take your crap again!" he winked at Max in amusement and closed the door.
Tyson, Kenny, and Hilary had been driving for a few minutes when they got to a major intersection. Kenny said goodbye to both of them and turned into his street. It was already dark and the air was cooling off. Hilary froze a little and cursed inwardly because she had forgotten to take a jacket with her. It was actually the intersection where everyone had to go in a different direction to go home, but Tyson made no move to say goodbye. He took off his jacket and placed it on Hilary's shoulders. "It's late, I'll take you home." he said, looking very grown up. A faint red settled on her cheeks and Hilary nodded. // How long has Tyson been so ... so grown up? // she thought and the two of them went on to Hilary's house.
Max arrived home with his head hanging. His father was waiting for him in the kitchen with his meal. Max sat down at the table and began to eat. After a while his father asked: "So quiet today? Isn't Leena better?" His son looked at him pained and asked: "How did you tell mom you love her?" Mr. Tate choked and began to to cough. "Why do you want to know my son?" he looked inquiringly at Max, who stared at his food. "Well, if I remember correctly, I invited her to the cinema and then gathered all my courage on the way home in front of her door. I just told her what I was feeling. That's about it." he laughed. Max mumbled, “So easy?” Mr. Tate looked at his brooding son and smiled when he saw what his son was thinking about. He got up and took the now empty dishes aside to wash them. When Max got up and wanted to go to his room he called after his son with a grin. “Leena likes the color green, I have new fusion panes in the store, there is one that she would definitely like.” Red like a tomato, Max pretended he hadn't heard it and disappeared into the room and shortly after into the bathroom to take a shower.
The hot water pelted him and he closed his eyes. It was pleasant and secretly he hoped to wash off the guilt. When he had finished showering, he put on his sleeping clothes and went into his room. On the desk was a small box and a piece of paper on which his father said, "Fighting!" had written.// Thanks Dad // thought Max and fell onto his bed with the box in hand. // Now I can't back down anymore! Everyone helps me, if I don't make it now, I will never make it! // He closed his eyes and tried hard how to say it. At some point he fell asleep and his father came into his room to turn off the light. He quickly put the blanket over Max and whispered: "He's growing up so quickly. // Then he turned off the light and closed the door.
The next morning Max woke up and next looked at his cell phone in the hope that Leena had written to him. Indeed, he had received a text message from her. It arrived in the middle of the night and there wasn't much in it. “Tomorrow at six at the training ground!” Max had hoped for more, but was glad that she was ready to talk to him. He quickly packed his school bag and went to breakfast with mixed feelings.
