Fanfic: Ranma in Hogwarts

Chapter: Witchcraft & sorcery?

Witchcraft & sorcery?

It all started five years ago. At the time I was 11, my father and I were on a training trip, how could it be otherwise.
When we walked for days without a break - of course only on my part, my dear father had made himself comfortable with all the luggage on my back, and criticized me non-stop - when he finally allowed me to take a break on a coast, and that Build camp. Which of course I was allowed to do again. Neither of us knew exactly where we were, because this lazy sack was too stingy to buy us a ticket.
My raven father - although that's to say the least - had long since fallen asleep in his warm tent, while I was trying to make myself as comfortable on the hard rock floor as I can when I don't have a blanket or any other aids. to store his body heat that was so senselessly wasted. "A fighter mustn't show weakness, and I have to teach you that" was father's excuse, why he always let me sleep in the open air.But I knew better: selfishness was his motivation, because he could afford a tent and a sleeping bag for himself, but for me he had nothing better than his "wonderful" advice.
But I didn't care at the moment because I wanted to fall asleep as soon as possible. But suddenly I heard a "pop" and I jumped up immediately. I frantically turned my head back and forth, perhaps to see something out of the darkness, but I couldn't see anything. But then I heard a voice from the bushes muttering "Lumos", whereupon everything lit up within a radius of two and a half meters. I looked intently at the place where I suspected the person, and suddenly a slim man with shoulder-length hair tied at the neck, stumbled towards me with a kind of flashlight.
When this strangely dressed person regained his balance, she smiled gently at me and asked politely: "Are you Ranma Saotome?""Yes, I am!", I replied without further ado, "What did my father eat this time?"
The man looked at me puzzled, then sat down next to me, and with a tap of his "flashlight" - which for me gradually developed into a staff with all-round capabilities - lit our campfire again.
"To answer your question: Your father didn't eat anything up! I'm actually here because of you!", He explained after a short pause, and took a letter from his cloak and handed it to me.
It was written on it:

To Mr. Ranma Saotome
Hard rock
coast
Japan

Confused, I looked up at the stranger.
"Actually, Hagrid would have taken over, but he's with someone else at the moment!", The stranger said thoughtfully while he tucked an unruly dark brown strand of hair behind his ear, and after a few seconds added, "Oh yes, my name is Ruphus Johnson ,
I work in the Ministry of Magic and am the head of the department for> Wizard-of-All-World I was also quite confused after his last sentence, and also showed him by raising my eyebrows, as if I wasn't sure if I was hearing impaired or if I was dealing with a total lunatic. But the only thing Ruphus said was: "Now don't look at me like that! Better read the letter, then you'll understand!"
And I did as I was told. I tore open the envelope, pulled out a folded parchment and read:
+ - - - - -

I looked up from the parchment I was holding in my hands.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? We expect your OWL no later than July 31st?
"What do you mean? Am I a magician? But there is no such thing, is there?" I gushed out of me.
Ruphus grinned and held his hands over the fire to warm them. "Yes Ranma, that's exactly what it says, and that (he read my luggage) should answer your second question!"
I stared at him with my mouth open while he carefully put my "backpack" back on the floor.
"But if you don't want to go to Hogwarts ... of course you don't have to!" Explained Ruphus. He bowed his head and looked a little awkwardly into the flickering fire."Me? Don't want to? I would take every chance to escape from my old man!" I replied enthusiastically.
"So you want to?" He asked cautiously while lifting his head and staring at me.
I nodded vigorously, whereupon Ruphus took a piece of parchment out of his cloak without missing a second, scribbled something on it and put it in an envelope. Then he whistled once, and out of nowhere an owl appeared in front of us, which he then tied the letter to his foot. He whispered something in her ear, and the next moment she was gone into the darkness.
"So that was confirmation for Dumbledore!" He declared absently, "And this is for your father!"
Next he took out a roll of parchment and wrote on it:
+ - - - - -
Dear Mr. G. Saotome,
Your son will attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Do not worry-

"Don't worry, he definitely won't," I said. But after giving me a pitying look, he immediately wrote on:

- Your son will be fine and he'll be back at the beginning of the summer vacation.
We'll keep you up to date
With best regards

Then he stuck the parchment with a tap of his wand - as I now realized - on the tent wall and smiled cheerfully at me.
"We should have done that now!" Said Ruphus, standing up and rubbing his hands in delight, "Now we only have to take care of the transport to England! But-"
"To England ??? I can't even Engl ...", I began.
But suddenly I realized that I had been speaking English the whole time.
"Yes, of course, what did you think!" Replied Ruphus, amused, "But that's not a problem!> Accio clean wipe seven <"
I was curious to see what would happen again, because it was obviously a magic spell. And suddenly something hissed past my ear, and before I could look around Ruphus held out a broom to me.
"What am I supposed to do with it? Sweep the rock?" I asked in surprise, and Ruphus laughed.
"Oh my goodness no! It's not a normal broom! With this one," he said eagerly and pointed to one of the two 'wipers',' you can fly! Put it on the floor, say 'UP' and sit down on it! "
I looked at him in disbelief, but did what he asked. Ruphus opened his mouth to give me further instructions, but I ignored him.
I tightened my grip on the narrow wooden handle and pushed myself off the floor. I flew two - six - eight meters into the air, plunged into the depths, turned again shortly before the impact, gained altitude again and left everything behind me. I felt free like I hadn't for a long time, but then I thought about it and landed gently next to Ruphus.
I was standing in front of him for at least a minute and he still hadn't moved. His mouth was open and his eyes were wide. I frantically waved my hand in front of his eyes until he finally blinked and closed his mouth.
"Why didn't you tell me right away that you could?" He asked, completely beside himself.
I raised my eyebrows and looked at him in amazement.
"Can I do it?" I asked.
He put his hands on his hips and looked at me grimly. "Now don't pretend you don't know how good you are!" He said indignantly. "Now come on, let's fly to London! Follow me!"
He swung one foot over the broom, which after a strong "up" was already floating next to him, and pushed himself firmly off the ground. I quickly threw the backpack over my shoulders and did the same.
We flew side by side, through the darkness of the night which was only illuminated by his wand, which he held out, while he was telling me about Quiddich, a wizarding game played on brooms. After about a five hour flight, we reached London. We landed gently on a shopping street which - as far as I could tell in this darkness - did not seem unusual. I rubbed my hands on my upper arms to warm myself up a bit, which unfortunately didn't help too much.
After Ruphus took the broom from me again, minimized both - his and mine - and stowed it in one of his pockets in the cloak, I was amazed, just spying the inscription "Zum Lippenden Kessel", into one of those shabby pups, which I already knew enough from Father's forays - I prefer to call it "drinking tours" that is more likely to get there.
It was pretty tight and stuffy inside. A few people sat here and there in the half-dark in a corner, indulging in something. Ruphus led me quickly, with his hand on my shoulder, to the bar, and we each sat on a stool.
"What would you like to drink, Mr. Johnson?"asked the man behind the counter, who had as little hair on his head as he had teeth in his mouth.
"You are pretty well known here!" I mumbled to Ruphus from the corner of his mouth.
But he simply passed it over, albeit with a slight red tinge on his cheeks, and replied to the host: "Please bring us two butter beers, Tom!"
When a jug filled with a light brown liquid stood in front of me, I was curious to see how it would taste, but I didn't dare to try it. After all, anything was possible in this world, in the end it wouldn't even have been there to drink! But when Ruphus poured his butterbeer through my mouth into my stomach without hesitation, I dared to take a sip of it.
It tasted wonderful, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've never had anything so delicious in my entire life. Which is not surprising given my circumstances. But the best part was that suddenly a pleasant
