Chapter: Because it is magic (Jack and Charlie)

Because it is magic

Why do we insult them and still have to stay close to them?
I think I can use it to speak to Charlie about why it is so ...
We didn't know her back then, but everyone knew the horror house, the largest villa in our city, and the housekeeper came to our village once a week. All adults were nice to her, they apparently knew her, liked her. The children, on the other hand ... how were they then ... we found the whole thing strange. We were a little community of our own, we were a gang.
One day, Charlie, our leader, had had a row with a boy from the neighboring village about which group ruled the island. We agreed that every two of the groups had to pass a test of courage that the other group had thought of them. Charlie and I were on for our gang. They asked us to go into the scary villa and take photos from there of what it looks like who lives there! An idiotic bet, we assumed we'd done everything possible for a week to find out more about this villa, then when the housekeeper went out to do some shopping we came out from behind a bush and slipped through the self-closing gate. We broke in back then as promised. Everything was different from what we had imagined, much cleaner, much friendlier. We took photos, we didn't meet the residents. So we looked for her, there had to be someone who lived there besides this housekeeper, we thought at the time.
Then there was music in the house. It was a violin game, fast and with a melody, with someone singing.
We found the room quickly, we saw a girl, we had seen her several times in the village, but we always thought she was from the neighboring village. She was a few years older than Will, had brown hair, a cute face, and she sang. She sang and played the violin. We couldn't get enough of this lovely sight. We didn't even think about taking any more photos. We were so fascinated ... something touched our backs, for a moment we were frozen, thinking that this was the housekeeper. We turned around, a huge dog was standing in front of us and looking at us curiously. We screamed in fright. The violin stopped suddenly, steps ran towards the door we were standing behind and it was thrown open ...
That's probably not what you wanted to know ... after all, it's just about her sister ... but, with her ... it is indescribable when we met Mia back then ... something probably awakened our protective instincts , although she didn't need a protector for a long time ... but it was her eyes, her whole appearance, that had cast a spell over us, she looked so miserable, so thin, s sad and yet her eyes were filled with pride, we just had to stay with her in order to be able to protect her again at some point ...
