Chapter: Forgotten Past (Part 2)
So here comes the 2nd part ...
A long awaited feast
The little party had finally come for the two of them. Pretty much everyone from the village had come. Maris stood in front of Oros' tent. She was wearing a strange green and brown dress. Waiting for her friend was not easy for her.
Then finally Cauli came out of the tent. To Mari's astonishment, she wore everyday clothes. “Why are you looking so stupid?” “Don't you want to wear something special?” Cauli put her hands on her sides and swung her tail threateningly back and forth. "Do you mean that you don't like my clothes?" Maris was silent. "I definitely think it's okay! Come on, let's get this over with!" Maris rolled her eyes.
So she went next to Cauli to the place that had been prepared for the feast.
A large campfire was burning in the square, and the guests sat in a circle around it.The fire cast a strange light on them at dusk. At one point on the circle that was facing the moon, there were three cushions that were still unoccupied.
Cauli and Maris sat down next to the third pillow, Cauli on the right and Maris on the left. Everyone waited for the ceremony to begin.
Then Oros stepped into the circle and sat on the last empty pillow between Maris and Cauli. The conversations fell silent, all eyes were on Oros.
, thought Maris and risked a quick glance at her friend. She sat cross-legged and rocked back and forth, bored.
Now Oros reuspected and began with a ceremonial speech:
"We came together today to pay tribute to these two adults who are now of legal age." He paused.
Slowly everyone rose from their pillow. “Let's show these two our respect!” Now each villager came to Cauli and Maris and gave them a small present.
Maris got a lot of ribbons and all sorts of other jewelry, quite the opposite of Cauli. She was usually given fruit or other food because she hated all kinds of jewelry and idolized everything edible.
During this presentation of the present, Oros continued talking, even if hardly anyone was listening to him. Then everyone sat down again. Now only Oros was not finished with the gift ceremony. He rose from his seat and disappeared for a few minutes. When he came back he had a richly decorated sword and a thin leather chain with a green amulet in his hands.
Almost everyone was sure that the chain was for Maris and the sword for Cauli.
Oros went up to Maris and handed her the sword with the words: “This is a sword that is worthy of a sword master like you.” Beaming with joy, she looked at the sword.
Cauli grimaced. "I thought so!" She whispered softly. Her father came up to her and grinned broadly and pressed the chain into her hand. The villagers were flabbergasted. Sure, Maris was a sword master, but ... "So, and now everyone is enjoying the feast and the wonderful food!" Oro's voice broke the silence and the villagers were happy to attack the prepared feast.
Cauli glared at her father. "What's that supposed to mean? It's okay that Maris gets the sword, but you could have saved yourself the chain!"
Maris looked up from the sword. She knew that Cauli would have another conversation with her father in a moment. And they had it all. "Ah, I'm hungry! I'll go and have something to eat then. Come on later too, Cauli!" And she was gone.
"Don't get so upset!" Said Oros in a soothing tone. “I'm only telling the truth!” Defiantly, Cauli stood up. Your father too. "The necklace is from your mother! She wanted you to have it that day!" Cauli stared at her father. “From mom?” The addressee nodded. Cauli relaxed again and looked at the chain in her hand."If so ...! Help me do it!" Oros smiled and put the chain on his daughter. "Looks good on you! You really look a lot like your mother."

Morning duty
"Bardock, you sleepyhead wake up! Do you know that you've been on duty for half an hour?" Bardock opened his eyes, startled. "AS PLEASE? WHY DO YOU WAKE ME NOW?" "What do you think I'm trying all the time?" Bardock swung himself out of bed, threw on his armored dress and was with an ironic "You're a real friend!" already on the way. His roommate just shook his head. "You go through something with that!"
Bardock stood panting in front of the throne room. When he was able to catch his breath again, he entered.
The throne room was not particularly large or particularly decorated. Just a room in which there was a throne and a few columns on the right and left pointed the way to the throne.
Sweating, he searched the room for signs of life. "Shit! Everyone's gone, no one left!" "Well, not everyone overslept every day!" Bardock turned around in surprise. As soon as he recognized the person he knelt down in front of her. “Forgive me, your Majesty!” The maybe just 15-year-old boy smirked furtively. "If I weren't in your debt, I could have you beheaded, do you understand?" "Yes, master!" "Very well, I'll turn a blind eye! But now I would quickly report to my superior!" With these words the boy walked past Bardock to the throne and sat down. Bardock got up and bowed deeply again. “Thank you, Majesty!” And as fast as he could he ran down the hall.
He was about to turn a corner when he collided with an older man. Nothing had happened to either of them. "Yes, yes, if that's not Bardock! You can allow yourself a lot for a 17-year-old!"" Uh, that's exactly where I wanted to go, boss! "The man put on a scowl." For such cheekiness you should ... "The man complained again." Well, today you will be given the task of playing kitchen boy again. And be happy about it. If you hadn't saved the life of the king, I would have you locked in the dungeon. You're really lucky, boy! " "Yes, thank you! "Sullen, bardock made his way to the kitchen. He knew the way in his sleep, because he often overslept.
“And don't empty the kitchen again!” He didn't hear the call of his superior anymore.
