Kari is 15 years old and a true dreamer. Her real name is Hikari Kamiya, but everyone just calls her Kari. Kari has a big brother named Connan. He is a 17 year old avid Sherlock Holmes reader and wants to become a detective later on.


Kari has short brown hair and usually walks around with red and white clothes. (see cover). Her brother Connan wears shorts and mostly blue T-shirts, and he also has glasses. Often he also carries a magnifying glass with him.


You live in the pretty city of Nagoya, more precisely in a suburb of Nagoya.






Chapter 1 The demon in the sword






It was another boring day at Momokuri High School.Kari just had history and they went through French history.


At the moment the teacher was telling the almost asleep students something about a knight named Jeanne d´Arc, when she then mentioned the Jeanne d´Arc


Was actually a woman, the class finally listened up. The teacher told of wild battles that Jeanne had to master, whereby they were always underestimated by the other knights. "But shortly before the end of the battle, Jeanne d´Arc saved the king from death, who was almost beheaded by a stray sword. How Jeanne knew that the king was in danger is still unclear." She concluded her story. One of her classmates said: "Maybe an evil demon was involved." The teacher looked at him with a smile and asked: "How do you come across a demon?"


Kari didn't get more of the conversation, because her imagination blossomed at the idea that Jeanne d'Arc had saved someone from a demon.She wondered how Jeanne could have done that until the teacher asked her: "Kari, don't you want to go home too? The others have already left." Kari looked at her teacher, mumbled: "Thank you" and disappeared. The teacher just shook her head and packed up her things. Kari dreamed of Jeanne the whole way and almost walked past her house. She rang the bell and her brother Connan opened the door. He immediately saw to his sister that she was lost in her dream world. It is actually clear what a real detective is! Kari went on to her room, lay down on the bed and made a picture of Jeanne d'Arc. “She should have long blonde braids and a short dress in red and white!” She remembered a movie she had seen once. With a boy who caught ghosts with a small device. "Jeanne is said to have had one too, the part was called a ghost projector, then I call it a D projector!"


"Food is ready," Connan shouted in Kari's room.Kari gave a start, but then got up and went into the kitchen. She sat down at the table and ate supper. It is always quick with her, because she wanted to go back to her room as quickly as possible to keep chasing dreams.


It was getting late and she went to bed. When she lay there, her eyes closed and she fell asleep.


It fell through a long tube and landed on a green meadow that was entirely covered with flowers. "Where am I?" Kari asked puzzled. When she looked down at herself, she got a shock. She looked very different! She wore blonde braids and other clothes. In addition, she saw a small device lying next to her, when she looked at it more closely she suddenly recognized that it was a D-Beamer. Kari looked at it carefully and picked it up. It glowed slightly, after a while the glow got stronger and she turned around so feeling that what she saw made her scream out loud. A horde of knights came up to her, she didn't think for long, took her legs in one hand and ran for as much as she could.After a few meters a huge river appeared out of nowhere and since Kari could no longer brake she jumped and landed to her surprise on the other side of the bank, as she got over it, bothered her very much. "Did I fly," she wondered, puzzled. Kari barely had time to rest, because a knight grabbed her as she rode by and dragged her towards the castle. The knight got off his horse with Kari under his arm and strolled into the castle. He went to the king, who was sitting bored on his throne. Kari could scream and complain as much as she wanted, it didn't help. The king asked interested: "Is that who I think she is?"


The knight: "If you mean Jeanne d´Arc, that's her!" Kari asked: "Jeanne d´Arc, why do you want Jeanne d´Arc to come?"


The king asked: "But you are Jeanne d'Arc! Yes, you have the D-Beamer in your hand!"


Kari looked at her hand and nodded.


King satisfied: "Very good, then you can definitely help me!"

Kari asked carefully: "And what?"


The king replied thoughtfully: "I have heard from my ambassadors that the king is setting up an army in the neighboring kingdom that will soon be ready to fight. It is to attack my troops and I need your help in the war!"


Kari thinks: "War, I can't fight! Well, I'll try anyway!"


And she said to the king: "Don't worry, Lord King, I will do everything in my power to protect this kingdom!"


King very pleased: "Well, then I don't have too much to fear!"


The knight led Kari to her room and disappeared.


Kari thought: "Oh man, now I'm in a mess! Me and my cheeky mouth. So, what do I do now? Maybe get away? No, bad idea, I'll just come out dead!"


After a while she finally had a brilliant idea.


"I'm just telling the king that I'm going to get to the root of the problem!I'll ride to this weird evil king and settle accounts with him! "


She called a servant to her room.


Kari: "Servant, please take me to the king immediately, I have to talk to him!"


"Right away!" the servant took Kari by the hand and led her to the king.


The king asked in astonishment: "Jeanne, what is it? Something wrong?"


Kari: "I just got an excellent idea! I wish to ride to the evil king and kill him before the battle! Would that be in your senses?"


The king thinks about it and then agrees. He instructs the servant to get a horse ready. Kari chooses a pretty young mare.


With the help of the servant she got on the horse and was about to ride, but the servant said: "Please wait a moment, then you can take a squire with you, he will protect you!"


Kari just nodded and waited until a little boy, around 9 years old, came ridden out of the stable.“My name is Chiaki!” The boy introduced himself.


"Pleased to meet you, I'm Jeanne d'Arc," Kari replied.


And already they rode off, literally towards adventure.


After a while, Chiaki asked, "Where are we going anyway?"


Startled, Kari said: "You don't know? We're looking for this strange king! But if you didn't know where it was going, why did you come with us?"


"Well, I wanted to experience an adventure once, life as a squire is completely boring!" replied Chiaki quickly.


"You are at the right address with me!" laughed Kari.


Chiaki had to laugh too, so they rode for a while until they came near a large castle.


"I would say here it is!" said Kari.


They walked slowly towards the castle and carefully looked around.


"Shall we go in there?" Chiaki asked anxiously.


"Sure," replied Kari and added: "Otherwise why would we have made the long journey?"

She bravely approached the castle and was about to knock, but Chiaki held her back: "We can't just march in there! They would lock us up and maybe even execute us because they think we are scouts!"


Kari swallowed, feeling sick at the thought of being executed. She asked, "How else are we supposed to get in there?"


Chiaki just shrugged and looked at her questioningly. Kari thought about it, they had to come up with a solution, otherwise everything was for nothing. She thought about sleeping on it for a night and then deciding later.


So she lay down next to her horse and fell asleep quickly. Chiaki had no choice but to lay down next to his horse and fall asleep.

Chiaki replied soothingly: "It's good, I was just a little annoyed because I was disturbed while sleeping! I didn't mean it!"


Kari stopped paying attention to Chiaki and looked at the D-Beamer. She muttered, "It must mean something that this thing beeps like that!"

"Neither do I," Kari admitted.


When Chiaki looked at her in horror, she said quickly: "But, I'm Jeanne d´Arc the kamikaze thief! I can do it!"
