Kari looked at Zampoo and said happily: "Yes, please!"


The two sat on the dragon's back and flew through several secret passages. After a while they saw the light of day and flew high into the sky. Only now a lot of Kari on how big the dragon was. It easily had a wingspan of 12 meters and from head to tail it was easily 20 meters. Ryu-chan was covered with dark green to brown colored scales.


"What do you actually do all day?" Asked Kari.


Zampoo replied thoughtfully: "Actually nothing! We're just flying around."


"Don't you have a job or something?", Kari asked again.


Zampoo considered: "Yes, we still have a job!", She shouted: "We protect other dragons that live scattered around here. We take care that nothing happens to them and that they always have enough food.Sometimes like babysitters play for the offspring, but only for a few breeds. Most dragons take care of the offspring in pairs, but some other females of certain species have to look after the little ones alone and we help them. "


Kari's mouth was open. When Zampoo turned to her, she asked, "What is it, something wrong?"


Kari: "Yes, yes, it's just that I didn't think anyone would take care of dragons."


Zampoo laughed: "There are more things between the back of a dragon and the earth than one can dream of."


So they flew on until the dragon made a grumbling sound.


Zampoo asked, "What is it, Ryu-chan"


Ryu-chan made more grumbling noises that Zampoo seemed to make sense of. She said to Kari: "Hold on, here we go!"


Ryu-chan flew faster in the opposite direction.


Kari asked: "What's going on, why are we flying so fast?"

"You will see in a moment!", Zampoo replied curtly.


After a few minutes they arrived at another dragon.


Kari looked closely and realized that it had to be a female because there were eggs next to her. Kari guessed what to do now and said, "Let me guess we should take care of the eggs?"


Zampoo said, "Hey, not bad, you're bright. But you're right."


The female dragon grumbled and flew away. Kari, Zampoo and Ryu-chan were left alone with the eggs. Zampoo sat on one of the 4 eggs and showed Kari that she should sit on one too. Kari did what she was told and sat down. Ryu-chan, too, who looked kind of small with his wings folded in, sat down very close to the 2 remaining eggs.


Kari asked: "And how long do we have to stay seated now?"


Zampoo replied: "Well, that depends, the maximum I had to wait was 2 days."

Kari looked scared at her new friend and saw that she was grinning.


"Well, do you want to wait that long," asked Zampoo.


Kari looked a bit disgruntled, but then said: "Of course I'll wait, what else should I do?"


She looked over at Zampoo and saw that she was asleep. Ryu-chan was also about to doze off.


Kari just shook her head and lay down too.


In the middle of the night she was awakened by a crack. Startled, she sat up and looked at the cracked egg shell. Kari begins to scream softly, which wakes Zampoo and the dragon. Zampoo asked sleepily: "What's going on?"


Shivering, Kari pointed to the egg. "Wow" was the only thing Zampoo said.


After a while she whispered to Ryu-chan: "Please call the female!"


The bowl cracked, after a short silence it cracked again and the bowl finally broke. A small dragon, still quite crumpled, appeared.He shivered and gave a low hiss. A growl made the friends sit up and take notice, they looked up into the sky and realized that the dragon's mother was approaching. She landed and waddled towards her offspring. The baby crawled towards her and it cracked again, the second egg was about to burst.


They turned around and just saw the second little dragon crawl out of the egg. And the third shell also shattered, closely followed by the fourth.


Kari smiled and everything blurred again before her eyes. She went down a lot and landed softly on her bed.
