'Maybe some kind of storage room,' she thought, 'but why didn't I ever notice that before?'
In the meantime she had calmed down and slowly but surely went to the mysterious door. It was locked. Miriam clenched her hand in a fist. And when she opened it again, a key appeared.Everything seemed strange to her, but she tried it. It worked. The door opened with a creak. She took a look inside. Dark. No light switch? There. Now a staircase appeared. Without hesitation, she went up.
