Chapter: The Dragon Warrior, and the Change Between Times Part16

Hi, here comes part 16. Here is a short explanation of the symbols in this part:

* Flashback, memory, or whatever you want to call it. (It actually only happens once, and there it is a memory)

He was in a place high up in the air and ... his brother Krel`Ta. "I was hoping to watch him again one day, but not in this way. He has changed so much. I didn't even recognize him at first. However, I can turn my thoughts around as I want, I just don't get any Answer to this unasked question. What does he want at this time. "At this point his thoughts dispersed in the water, and he managed to concentrate again with great difficulty. "Damn, I just can't find it. A simple answer to a simple question. Although, maybe the answer lies in my past and in the future of all living beings on planet earth." His thoughts broke away from him again, but now they were on the way to his dark past.

* It was the fifth terrifying year under the rule of the Alliance and the merciless darkness. Nexulum and the other Dragons of the Rebellion hide from the Alliance's raiders in the Valley of the Dragons. Little did they know that one of the detectors had followed them with the help of a heat detector. Not only had the dragons been careless in their flight, but so had the captor. When he tried to sneak back to his people, he kicked a few stones loose, which rolled down the nearby slope, quietly but still audible to Nexulum. Nexulum woke up from its light twilight sleep and left the camp without being seen or heard. The hunter suspected, however, that one of the dragons had noticed him and used the heat detector again. But it was already too late for him. He could still see a large red speck on his screen because Nexulum was right in front of him, and then a bright and piercing scream tore through the darkness of the eternal night.Seconds later, bright headlights flared from everywhere, transforming the Valley of the Dragons into a single sea of lights. The dragons were surrounded. But the soldiers did not dare to approach the kites more than 10 meters. Nexulum trudged through the knee-high, withered grass (:-) back to his companions, and moistened the yellowish grass with the fresh blood from his claws.

When the many lights tore through the darkness, the dragons jumped up and stretched their mighty wings to full size to look even bigger than they already were. Now the soldiers of the Alliance faced a group of rebels, which were numerically inferior to them but superior in terms of combat strength. However, the dragons had another, inestimable, advantage: the fear of the soldiers. The dragons knew full well that the soldiers were terrified of them. So they played as dangerous as they could. They growled at the soldiers, snarled their teeth, made quick movements with their claws, dug deep trenches in the ground with the spikes on their tails. Everything they could think of to frighten the soldiers. The minutes passed, and neither group had not even let a false breath come from them. Then, all of a sudden, an angry voice could be heard from the back of the soldiers. "What is going on here? Didn't I clearly say that you should take the rebels prisoner and not do a" I stupidly stare at the enemy for an hour "? You know the orders." A swath formed in the Rows of soldiers, and a short plump man stepped between the dragons and the soldiers. He looked at each of the dragons, and when his gaze stopped at Nexulum, a diabolical grin formed on his small, fat, round face. (The face made me think of someone I hate from the bottom of my heart. It looks exactly the same.) "Hey you there. Yes, you with the blue scales, come to me." Nexulum pointed to himself, and the man across from him nodded. Nexulum tried to step forward, but a large black dragon grabbed his arm and held him back. "Keta ra muna," said the dragon, shaking his head. Its deep black scales glittered in the harsh light of the headlights. "Krel`Ta nakar ma tur." Nexulum tore himself away from Krel`Ta and after a few steps was only about an arm's length away from the little man. The man grinned again, and then turned to Nexulum himself. "So you are the leader of the dragons, if our reports are correct. Can you understand me at all?" Nexulum nodded, but remained silent. "Then answer my question: Are you the leader of the dragons and the last surviving members of the rebellion against the sacred earthly alliance?" * Kotz, how can one join such an alliance? * "Yes, I am."" Please don't be so cheeky and show a little more respect for the holy alliance. "He pulled a gun from his belt and held it to Nexulum's chest. The dragons saw this as an act of threat, and all dragons let out a growl that ran through one's body. As the dragons approached Nexulum Wanted to go, suddenly the click of unlocked weapons could be heard from all sides. They wanted to continue running, but Nexulum held up his hand and they stopped dead in place. "Probably not quite as cheeky as," he asked this time with a malicious grin. "Do you think I'm afraid of a simple gun? You may all have titanium bullets in your stupid guns, but we haven't bothered us for a long time. "Nexulum raised his left hand, stretched it slowly towards the barrel of the weapon that was pointed at him, and placed it on it. Now he grinned maliciously at the man in front of him and squeezed. The barrel of the weapon was totally bent, there had only lightly squeezed Nexulum. The man in front of him didn’t show anything, but in truth he had packed into sheer panic in front of the dragons. "Well, you know my name, but I don't know yours. I would like to know who I'm talking to here." The man swallowed hard before answering. "I'm General McDowll. Leader of the mountain troops, and advisor to the great Alliance leader." At the last part of the sentence, Nexulum perked up inwardly, but said nothing. "I am pleased to make your acquaintance, General. Unfortunately, the joy will only last for a short time." "How ?!" That was the only thing he could say, because Nexulum took out its sharp claws once and had it General cut his throat in a flash. The general slumped to the floor bleeding, and then choked out two more sentences under a gush of his own blood. "You ... bastards ... you will ... penalize for this. Kill ... them!" Then he slumped dead to the ground.

Either you have to figure out what will happen to Nexulum and the others now, or you can just read part 17 if you want and when it's finished. The flashback from the very dark past of Nexulum doesn't end here. Have fun reading on.

Quel`Thalas.
