Chapter: The struggle for royal dignity - part 4
Here is the fourth part.
Two months later....
A red lamp began to flash on the control panels of both capsules, and some displays on the scouter's screen were also activated and in turn activated the on-board computer. It was getting light in the spacecraft.
Vegeta opened his eyes and looked through the porthole on his right. He was in a galaxy completely unknown to him, through the front hatch he could see a large, purple nebula that Vegatta's capsule was aiming for.
"Vegeta? Are you up yet, brother?" he suddenly heard his sister's voice on the scouter's radio.
"For a few minutes. Only Trunks is still slumbering-ah, now he's waking up too!"
"That cloud in front of us is the Tjokan Nebula. Inside is my home Burai."
"How is Son-Goths doing?" asked Goku, who overheard the conversation.
"Well, he's just hungry. I gave him some of my special rations." Vegatta smiled as the boy sat on your lap and nibbled on a yellow chopstick.
"Uaah .... Papa, are we there soon?" Trunks asked, rubbing his eyes.
"It won't be long now, my son. Did you sleep well?"
"Always with you." the boy smiled. Vegeta returned his smile and scratched his purple hair.
"Vegeta! Are you and Trunks all right?" he heard Bulma's voice.
"Of course! Don't worry!"
"Bulma, we are approaching the fog now. The autopilot will bring our three spaceships safely to Burai and will also initiate the landing!" Vegatta answered over the radio.
"Roger that." the green-haired woman nodded.
Shortly afterwards, all three capsules were immersed in the mist. Now the universe with the innumerable stars could only be seen dimly.
During the entire flight, Bulma kept an eye on the controls. And Vegeta was also staring intently out of the porthole in front of her.
Suddenly a brown-green planet emerged from the nebula.
"Papa, look!" called Trunks.
"Yes, it must be Burai!" his father nodded.
"Get ready for landing! We'll be there in a moment!" Vegatta answered over the radio.
"All right! -Trunks, come back on my lap! These capsules land pretty fast and hard!" Vegeta admonished his son.
A short time later, the three spacecraft penetrated the planet's atmosphere and shot toward the surface of Burai at insane speed. The pressure increased again and pressed the travelers into their seats. Vegeta saw how a bright, rectangular area was getting bigger and bigger under him, they headed straight for it.
But shortly before the small capsules hit the ground, they were caught and slowed down by two strong special nets! With one last thud, the spherical spaceships hit a round, elastic field each, which slowed down the hardest impact.
At some distance a few moments later the big ship with Bulma and the others touched down.
First the hatch of Vegatta's capsule hissed open, the Sayajin princess got out and stretched her stiff limbs. The little Goth followed immediately behind her and looked around with wide eyes.
"Aaah! The big ship with my papa landed over there!" he called and pointed to the spacecraft. Bulma had meanwhile also opened the hatch and extended the ramp.
"Hi Papa!"
Goten ran to his father and fell stormily into his arms.
"Hello, my son! Was the trip interesting?"
"Great! I saw your spaceship! And that of Vegeta! And I was also very good and didn't do any nonsense!"
"I'm glad. Come on, let's go. Vegatta is already waiting for us."
"Welcome to Burai!" greeted Vegatta when everyone was there. At the end of the large gray square where they had landed, a few buildings and towers rose.
"Well Kakarott? What did you do during the long trip?" Vegeta asked his old rival. "Certainly trained tirelessly again!"
"Naturally!" grinned Goku.
"Tireless, indeed! Because of him, the alarm went off again and again when it got too heavy! And our supplies are almost all!" Bulma remarked angrily.
"I've slept long enough and I'm more than rested! And until the big fight, I'll train every day!" noted Vegeta.
"May I be your training partner? I'll get you in top shape, you'll see!" asked Goku.
"Fine! Maybe you can really help me ..."
"This is our spaceport. And a reception committee is already on its way to see us."
A planing vehicle quickly approached the newcomers. A Sayajin and an Outerworld were sitting in the driver and passenger seats.
"Welcome back to Burai, princess! Did you have a good trip?" asked the driver.
Vegatta nodded. "And it was successful. I found my brother, Prince Vegeta and brought him home!"
Now the two men noticed Vegeta.
"You are welcome, Prince Vegeta!" both greeted them and indicated a bow.
"And I brought a few more guests with me." explained Vegatta. "Everyone get in, the vehicle will take us to the main terminal!"
So everyone quickly got your luggage.
When Goku got into the vehicle and took Goten on his lap, the Sayajin looked at him for a long time.
"Is what?" Goku asked with a slight discomfort.
"Uh-no. Sorry."
The sayajin turned back and started the vehicle.
"Why did the man look at you like that, papa?" asked Goten.
"Don't know. Maybe I look like someone he knows ..."
Everyone got off in front of the arrival terminal building. "
"You can leave your luggage in the vehicle. It will be transferred to mine in a moment and then we can go." explained Vegatta.
The staff and passengers present greeted the princess and bowed when they passed the group. But when they saw Son-Goku, they threw him astonished looks.
"Uh-Vegatta, why are people all looking at me strangely?" asked Goku as they approached the large front door.
"Very simple. I'll show you right away. - There. You see?" answered the Sayajin princess and stopped in front of a large, rectangular wall. A relief showing a battle scene was carved into this.
"Here. Do you recognize him?" Vegatta pointed to a large figure that floated above all in the air.
"He looks like me! Is that ... my father?"
"Right. This is Bardok. This spaceport is also named after him."
"That can't be true! They named this airport after Kakarott's father! A lower-class warrior!" Vegeta growled contemptuously, standing a bit apart from the group.
"I recognize Freezer over there! And his spaceship!" Kuririn called and pointed to the right side of the relief.
"This Relilef was made after Parduk's description of the last battle for the planet Vegeta! We remember the heroes who died for our old homeland!" explained Vegatta. "And also our brothers and sisters who perished with the planet!"
"An honorable gesture!" noted Bulma.
Next to the large plaque there was a place where some candles were burning and even flowers were lying.
"Is that from the relatives of those who perished?" asked Bulma.
Vegatta nodded.
"Every year on the day of the disaster, we hold a memorial service here."
The Sayajin's new hometown reminded Vegeta very much of his old home, which he had lost so long ago. The buildings, the streets ... everything was strangely familiar to him. And the residents. Only here hardly anyone was walking around with a combat vest, but in normal clothing that had been shaped by various otherworldly influences. But here and there he still recognized the traditional cuts and colors. Also, most of the Sayajin wore their monkey tails open and not tightly wrapped around their waist. And there were also very many outworlders. Races he thought he knew and completely alien beings. And they all lived together in peaceful harmony. On Vegeta, outworlders were mostly prisoners of war or slaves. Only the scientists and doctors had enjoyed life as free citizens.
The sky was a light purple tinge from the fog. The composition of the air we breathe was similar to that on Earth, Bulma had determined from her instruments in the spaceship.
Vegatta had stopped her vehicle and was pointing to the horizon.
"Do you see the big mountain ahead? It is constantly covered in clouds. The guardian of this planet lives on its summit. Master Koda. Before us he was the only living being on this planet. Before we were allowed to settle on Burai, me and mine had to Mother first ask his permission. This is what our new allies have told us. Otherwise we would be hit by catastrophes. And the Vegeta disaster was warning enough for us. So me and mother flew up to the mountain and asked. And he gave his consent, on the condition that we keep our current way of life. And we kept our promise. Since then, Master Koda has been something like the patron god of this planet for us, he holds his watchful hand over us. "
"Like Dende with us on earth." Kuririn nodded.
