Chapter: Families and families

Five years had passed since the Black Star Dragon Balls were found and the earth was saved. Trunks meanwhile worked again as head of Capsule Corp. and wasn't all alone anymore. He and Juicey had married exactly four years ago (Vegeta had resigned himself to Juicey becoming Trunk's future wife and even showed up for his wedding * g *). The two no longer lived in the western capital, but a bit out of the way, near Videl and Gohan.

"Cherry, come back here at once. My lady, otherwise there'll be a lot of trouble!" An angry Juicey shouted into the front yard. The hair was just as long as it was five years ago (so still short).

A little girl came out of a bush.

"Oh mom, I don't want to go to bed just yet. I want to wait until dad comes!" She turned around defiantly.

"Cherry, if you don't come in immediately, it'll crash!"Juicey walked over to her. Cherry ran backwards until she had to stop because something was in her way.

“Well what is that going to be?” Trunks stood in front of her.

“Papa!” Trunks lifted her in his arm. > First and foremost, she is like her father. Only five years and just as stubborn.

Cherry hugged her father as tightly as she could. Trunks looked at Juicey, who rolled her eyes. She knew the trick: when Cherry almost threatened to strangle her beloved Mr. Papa, she wanted something from him! And the request was not long in coming:

"Dad, do you know that I love you so much? And because you love me so much, you will definitely go to the hype with me, won't you?" She put on her dachshund look again. Most of the time that look had done something for her parents, but they've been tough since the other day.Trunks tried to explain to his daughter, like a thousand times before, that she couldn't get everything she wanted. And like every time she ran crying into the house, into her room and pouted.

"Just as clever as her mother!" Said Trunks and kissed Juicey tenderly on the mouth.

"And just as stubborn as her father!" She replied and pushed him towards the house.

“You want some coffee, honey?” Trunks nodded and Juicey poured him a full cup.

At night, in the western capital. A girl aged thirteen was running through the park. Flashlights pointed on her back.

"There she is!" Yelled a policeman. The girl ran even faster. She ran out of the park, threw a Hoi Poi capsule on the street and got into the helicopter that appeared. She had watched her father often enough how to steer a helicopter. The engine started and she was in the air. However, she did not expect the police who were chasing her to be equipped with helicopters. The girl made a few laps around the western capital and then flew in a zigzag towards the surroundings. When she realized she had shaken off her pursuers, she switched to autopilot and sank back into the seat. > That was pretty close! But what is the Capsule Corp. for?

EMPTY!

> Damn the tank is out.

An impact shook the earth. Juicey flew straight onto the couch and Trunks literally fell to the floor.

“Oh my god! What was that?” Juicey straightened up again.

“I don't know.” Trunks held the back of his head painfully.

"I'm going to see Cherry! Not that anything happened to her!" She hurried up the stairs.

> And she doesn't care how I feel. <, Trunks thought and moved the chairs, a little offended. When the doorbell rang, Juicey came down and opened it immediately. A girl stood in front of her who looked quite worn out.

"I'm sorry if I bother you so late, but do you have some bandages?"

"Of course. Come in first." Juicey supported the girl as best she could and helped her sit down.

“Trunks, could you get bandages?” He nodded and was gone immediately. Juicey took a closer look at the girl. It had dark auburn hair that was tied into two rat tails. She was wearing a white sweatshirt that was pretty dirty and blue flared jeans that were actually way too loose for her. She also wore a black cotton scarf and sneakers. In her hands she held a khaki fishing hat, which was also quite dirty.Juicey went over to the kitchen and poured some tea.

“Here!” She handed the girl a cup.

“Thank you!” She sipped her tea.

“Tell me what's your name anyway?” Juicey looked at her. The girl seemed to be considering.

"My name is ... Melanie. Melanie Anne Cathrin Dawn. Quite a long name, isn't it?"

"Right. I'll call you Ally, okay?" Melanie shrugged.

"And you? What is your name?"

"I'm Juline Juicey Briefs. Just call me" you "."

"Is Juicey your ... your nickname?"

"Yes." Juicey saw Trunks come back.

“It took a long time.” She put down her cup and began to treat Melanie. Trunks looked questioningly at his wife.

"This is Al ... Melanie Anne Cathrin Dawn. She comes from ... where are you from?"

"I'm from the orphanage ..." Melanie thought for a moment. She's never been good at lying. Her gaze fell on a flower.

"... from the orphanage" Flower "in the western capital!"Trunks saw through this little lie and corrected it with a smile.

"Oh, from the orphanage. You know, if you are already lying, pay attention to what you say next time. I come from the western capital and there is no such orphanage there." Melanie blushed. She also didn't know whether it was embarrassment or because this young (* cough *) man upset her. She added petty:

"But I come from the western capital. And that's where I know my way around. Whether it's the city, the park or the steal ..." She quickly covered her mouth. Apparently neither of them had noticed anything. Trunks got curious.

“What is such a young girl looking for so far away from her parents at this time?” This question wasn't a bit of a joke, it was completely serious. Melanie thought about it. When she finally came to a decision ("What the heck? Then I'll just tell you everything!").

"I, I ran away from home. Two days ago. I knew my homeland like the back of my hand and so I was able to escape the policemen who were looking for me. My parents hired more and more of them. So I thought the only way I could escape them was to fly. I had looked over my father's shoulder often enough, it couldn't be that difficult! I decided today to find a plane or something similar ... "She stopped.

“And next?” Trunks knew what was coming next. And Melanie too. There was no point in lying. Besides, she had already started talking.

"I snuck into the Capsule Corp. at four in the morning. There I took one of the Hoi Poi capsules. In the evening I flew happily that I had left the policemen behind, which is what I thought, the area around here. Suddenly parted The on-board computer tells me that the tank is empty and that I had to crash land. "Everything was clear to Juicey.

"So that shock was earlier ..." Melanie nodded.

"Hopefully the head of Capsule Corp. will never find out that I stole and shredded this helicopter. I don't know how I ..." Trunks cut her off.

"Well, you must have made quite a fuss about that." She was confused.

"How so?"

"Because I'm the boss of Capsule Corp." Melanie paused.

"I hope you realize that I should actually report you?" She nodded.

"But since you are, as it seems to me, not of legal age, that wouldn't do any good. The least I can ask of you is that you pay me the damage that has arisen."

"But I don't have that much money!"

“You should have thought about that before you broke in.” Melanie was furious. But not on Trunks, but on herself because she had been so stupid as to do something like that even though she had known the consequences. Trunks pulled her out of her thoughts again.

"The first thing we will do is let your parents know where you are. Then we'll see. Melanie jumped up from the chair, which fell over in horror.

“I do everything, but please don't inform my parents!” Juicey would have liked to protect Melanie, but she knew that she deserved a lecture. When Trunks asked what her phone number was, she gave it out with grudging teeth. Melanie hoped that he would change his mind again. Juicey looked at Melanie, who could no longer hold back her tears, and then went over to Trunks, grabbed the receiver from his hand, said "I'm sorry. I made the wrong number" and hung up. You Trunks Seriously.

"Don't you think that's enough for now? She must have a reason why she ran away from home, or not? And when we find out, we can still decide whether we should notify the parents "Okay?" Trunks shrugged.

“Maybe it's better that way.” Juicey gave a small smile and then sat down next to Melanie, who pulled out a handkerchief.

"Watch out, we won't notify your parents for the time being. But you have to tell us why you ran away, okay?" Melanie knew that she could turn as she wanted, she couldn't get any more air.

"Well, I ran away because of ... because of ... my father. He got out of work a month ago and has been at home ever since. At first he was still trying to find a job, but he hasn't lifted a finger for two weeks. Mom." is also unemployed. She also finds nothing because nobody wants to hire a woman with a child! She does everything by herself: washing,
